The console needs to be as powerful as PS4 or I won't bat an eye. I'm feeling done with Nintendo after buying a Wii U that collected dust and I eventually lost. I'm just hoping the 4.14 TFLOPS number is before the rumored cpu upgrade in question, maybe get us up to 4.5 or 5 TFLOPS. I don't mind paying $449-499 for such an upgrade. Even if it just means some updated character models or AA.
Gen 6-7 was still a bigger jump though... The first time I saw Gears, HOLEY MOLEY I was living in the future. I want that same kind of jump again. God of War and Spiderman were looking pretty good at E3 though, but I just can't help but wonder how an extra TFLOP would help out. I'm not overly interested in the 60fps bump like most others, I want graphics.

I am kinda annoyed that they're starting a new gen, while Sony is doing a mid-gen refresh... It's bringing in too many SKUs and will only further messy up the playing field into Gens9-10. Yeah, 4 times more power for 4K, but XB1 isn't even hitting 1080p half the time, so how could you expect 4k from Scorpio? M$ may have a game or two designed and built from the ground up to support 4K, but nobody else is going to build 4K games for them- they'll be aiming at 1080p or perhaps 1440p. 1440p doesn't make much sense though because it's not a perfect scale like 1080p to 4K.
The issue is can they even? Probably not for any graphically intensive titles. I'm buying a 4k HDR OLED and even know that I won't be gaming at 4K on any consoles anytime soon.
I just checked it again and it looks better all of a sudden, maybe it's my monitor or something. Weird.
IMO the 60fps on KH looks really janky, the characters look super-imposed, movement ghost-like and not smooth, and looks like it makes judder more noticeable. There's times 60fps looks good but this ain't it. I'm setting my PS4 to 1080i to cap fps at 30 for this game.

Well Neo is just over 2x as powerful as PS4, so it's obvious NEO mode will be doubling framerate for many games. Other games like Battlefield/Battlefront/Parago n/FFXV will get an increase from 900p to 1080p.
I actually prefer 30fps for narrative driven games and only prefer 60fps for FPS games, so I'm hoping more games stay at 30fps and increase graphics. Or, what I might do, is keep my NEO on 1080i to keep my story-based games at 30fps, and just buy an Xbox Scor...
A Death Stranding is when wildlife is stranded for death, like the sea animals washed up on shore in the trailer. Take notice, the character is also stranded.

I prefer 30 fps on narrative driven games, it promotes suspension of disbelief and doesn't make characters seem like they're super-imposed on the screen. It's also what I'm used to watching TV and movies. The only time I think 60fps is better is in FPS, fighting, or racing sims, aside from that, 30-locked with nice animations is better IMO. I especially think cutscenes should be capped at 30-fps moving forward with Scorpio and Neo.
TBH, M$ would have been better off updating this year like PS4-Neo. Even if it meant having a weaker console. The 15 month wait is just more time missed out of Gen 8 for M$, and by time they launch Scorpio, PS5 will be right around the corner.
A console this year on par with PS4-Neo would have given them the power to play their games at 1080p60 with improved graphics, which is all you could really ask for, and they could start regaining some lost ground from Sony early th...
I think they have alot of nice ideas but poor execution, especially with Scalebound's cringy character, headphones, dubstep, voice acting etc, and Gears of War's voice acting.
If they could get a new VA cast they'd seem a whole lot better IMO. Seemed very generic because of them.

And in recent years people have decided they don't like even 48 fps content, much less 60. A vast majority of people don't like Soap Opera Effect at 60 fps or interpolated to 60 fps, and most every movie director chooses 24 frames for movies.
So pretty much everyone disagrees with you, but this is N4G, let your ignorance be heard.
