A goddamn AMD APU, x86 architecture, full sized, well-ventilated console, Blu-ray or cartridges is fine.
Even 750 GB or 960GB should be fine for me...
@UCForce
SATA 2 means you can only get so much speed out of a harddrive. SATA 3 means you can upgrade to a faster disc(SSHD 7200 RPM, or SSD) and get MUCH faster loading times in some games. It's a welcome upgrade. I'm going to upgrade with a 500GB SSD(Since I don't play much), but I'll have much faster load times.
@Disagrees. All literal facts! SATAIII is faster than SATAII and allows you to get speed from faster HDDs or SSDs.
Lets look at the core gamer market. There are millions of gamers who only play third party mainstream games like CoD, Battlefield, Destiny, Assasin's Creed, Madden, etc, who would LOVE to play Mario on the same system. There is far more money in that market than handheld, and if Nintendo could get their head out of their asses, they'd have those aformentioned casuals, many core gamers, and their diehard fanbase who'd buy anything they make anyway.

I never said PC was the same platform. It's just that if MS is going to put their titles on Xbox and PC, it's ridiculous that we'd have to spell out "Xbox One and Windows 10 exclusive" for every title. If it's an MS title on Xbox and PC, saying "Xbox exclusive" should be fine. I'd say the same if it was Sony putting their titles on PC.
I'm only buying it because I currently have no console, and Square-Enix games seem to have some decent upgrades.
However if I already owned one and was going by other game's upgrades, I wouldn't buy one. Most games look mostly the same.
You people don't know the definition of exclusive. It means available on some platforms but not others. It's exclusive to Xbox and PC. Also, quit being so petty, we all know their main competitor is Sony so it's right to incite that being exclusive to Xbox and PC is exclusive to Microsoft. PC is not their competitor.
There's more detail in the 4K version, but still mostly looks the same. The few changes are obvious, even at a 1080p stream though.
This is why I think MS is messing up with Scorpio... Scorpio 2 or Xbox Next will be out when PS5 Pro is out.
So from now on, Xbox's generation is based on PS half-gen. They're going to miss out on alot of games because of that, or they'll produce their own half-gen console. If Xbox 4.5 is out when PS5 is out, and PS5.5 is out when Xbox 5 is out, one system is always going to be off-gen.
For this reason, Xbox would have been better off doin...
Well Japan is still a relatively small audience compared to the rest of the world, and Xbox is the #2 console. Considering that it wouldn't take much to get running on Xbox(900p res reduction) it should be perfectly feasible and all too easy to profit off of. I understand Sony is still their main audience though.
Yeah, but Dream Drop Distance was on Nintendo, which is now getting moved to PS4. I highly doubt Sony helped with BBS on PSP/PS3, so BBS 0.2 should also be fair game to move to whatever brand they choose. It's really about Square's own personal preference, not about which systems the games have been on. 3D and KH3 are a testament to that.(among all of the GBA/DS games that got moved to Sony platforms as well)
I'm there with ya. I didn't choose PS4 until FFVIIR was released. I actually think MS is doing crappy this gen, but if I had chosen earlier, I'd be stuck with an Xbox One.
The big question is- why? It's perfectly feasible on Xbox One with a few adjustments. FFXV, KH3, and FFXIII were all announced/released for MS platforms as well. It's kind of jarring to see some support and then none on big titles for no reason. FFVII was supported by Sony, so th...
I know I'm being a negative nancy, but I'm not trying the game because of the MC. JD is nowhere near Marcus Fenix, and the support characters seem pretty stock. Kate is alright, but not amazing, and the black dude seems kind of ridiculous. No Cole Train for sure.
Then from what I've seen the horror aspect is kind of nerfed. Battle transitions seem gamey, and graphics are not what I expected for this gen. All in all though, the characters are what's keep...
I hate to break it to ya, but only a few games are going to make use of Scorpio's advantage in tech. By time they get games truly running at 4K(with better graphics), PS5 will be out at 8-10 TFLOPS and absolutely destroy Scorpio.
You have to remember, PS4 is still king, games are going to be optimized around that model, and PS4 Pro will get upgraded. Scorpio will get upgraded as well, but not 4k with better graphics. That's still nex-gen. The only games that wil...
On PC that may be true when counting performance per TFLOPS, but on a console devs don't care about abstraction so can make full use of all TFLOPS no matter the manufacturer. In short, AMD is better for consoles.
Basically higher res games will be downsampled, leading to a crisper image. Some will have enhanced assets as well, like Final Fantasy XV, which has better greenery on PS4-Pro.
I'm sticking with 1080p for the rest of this gen with PS4-Pro, and will upgrade to 4K HDR when PS5 is released, and prices drop.
Wow, more anime games are coming out lately. Wheres my 'Kill la Kill' game Kenji Saito brought up a few years back, Platinum? Oh yeah, too busy working on that failure Scalebound. *sigh*
If this is true, I'm not buying an NX. They have an APU deal from AMD just tugging at their shoulders and they still refuse. They should have brought their A game with a console atleast as powerful as PS4-OG, at the lowest price possible. Cartridges? Fine. Small 500 GB HDD? Fine. Not as powerful as PS4-Pro? Fine. But being half as powerful as PS4-OG is not fine. That's 2013 tech, and you're halving the power. TF?
Eh, actually 360 was 300 GFLOPS, roughly 1/4 of Xbox one, same with PS3 to PS4.
The reason XB1 doesn't look much better than 360 is because they doubled resolution and framerate, meaning most of that power gets negated. Ofcourse, res and framerate are important, but if you're going to create that kind of jump, you should also have a contingency of power for better graphics. Planning on Xbox one was extremely weak in that regard.
Way sharper, better reflections, higher LoD. Easy to see even on 1080p.
