Not exactly many tall buildings in ancient China.

AC3 was rubbish because it lacked tall, renowned buildings IMO, and while its wilderness parkour was great, I missed the sights of AC2.
Before the game heads to China, I want to climb Big Ben and the Eiffel Tower. Paris and London ought to be done first, as Northern Europe is thus far untouched.

I've played 300 hours on CK2. Granted it still has a way to go before it's perfect, but with each patch and dlc it is getting there.
CK2 shouldn't be GOTY, as that honour belongs to FC3 or Dishonored really, but it is without a doubt the best strategy game to come out this year IMO (better than XCOM by far).

"one man's freedom fighter is another man's terrorist"

Untrue - a freedom fighter attacks the perpetrators who are making a conscious and unfair decision to oppress them whereas terrorists attack both decision-maker and their people/civilians. Terrorism attacks innocents to prove a point, freedom fighting attacks only those who bear arms and prevent them directly from enjoying freedom (or those up the chain of command responsible.

Do!

I bought a gaming PC after starting and spending 11 years of my life on consoles (bought it 5 years ago now). There are far more games, they're cheaper, and you get to have cutting edge tech whenever you choose to upgrade rather than waiting for Sony/Microsoft to release the next console.

At the moment, reverting back to my PS3 is near impossible as I find the graphics unbearably bad compared to my pc.
If you buy a lot of games, the money save...

Not the point really.

Lets accept that we have maniacs in society.

Undoubtedly it's not actually the gun's fault if they go on a killing spree, but that approach really misses the point.
Restricting gun sales protects us from ourselves - if these maniacs go on a killing spree without guns then there will be far less, perhaps no casualties (as it becomes difficult).

So lets think of guns as a catalyst rather than a source of gu...

I really don't see the debate here.

-USA has violent video games
-UK has violent video games

-USA has relaxed gun laws
-UK has strict gun laws

Murder rate is almost three times higher in USA

Conclusion: Violent video games are not responsible for American massacres. Guns are.

Honestly, surely a world where only the military have guns would be better? If nobody else has a gun, then you don'...

precisely. We're not even slightly obliged to make a statement as the games we play are harmless.

Violence in games doesn't kill people: guns do.

In the UK we have access to all the violent games you have in the USA (our censors don't really touch anything) yet our murder rate is far lower and gunmen are unheard of.

Here, rifles and shotguns are owned only by a few farmers, and we have a murder rate of 1.2 per 100,000 people compared to the USA's 4.2.

Violent games are not the problem and need to be let off the hook, as there ...

Right, ok, fair point that from a different angle a scene may be viewed as rape, but why cut it on that basis?
We all know that rape is a traumatising act of violence, but surely as long as consequences are accurately portrayed then it can help to teach people exactly how wrong it is? Perhaps even try and focus on looking at how the female deals with it?
Don't get me wrong, I'm not justifying rape, but the question exists: Is our trying to delete it from mainstream med...

The whole idea of curiosity was flawed due to one factor which Molyneux ignored during the conceptual phase: gain. When opening a box you know that what;s inside it belongs to you.
Anyone who played pass the parcel knows that it becomes less fun with more people. Curiosity was just a massive version of that children's game, and so it was rather boring (after all, chances of reaching the middle are stupidly low, so what are you actually gaining for your time?).

Pathetic. Religion without question or done in a way which impacts the lives of others is a scar upon the face of the earth.
It's time to crack down on freely expressing ideas which are genuinely incorrect.

At that price it should be a third of the length of the game to be acceptable value.

Their moving of said portrait offends me. Why can't religious people just crawl into a pit and live in philosophical chains together.
Us secular humanists deserve better.

I really hope that Bioware just give up on the combat style of Dragon Age 1 and 2 and make it more like Mass Effect with Melee or Kingdoms of Amalur. There are plenty of promising games using the retro style of team based tactical combat, and we don't need DA3 to simply do more of the same.

I'd like Dragon Age 3 to depart from it's retro chains and try to do something new with what *really* made it's predecessors special - the story, choices and party interac...

I think LucasArts is the primary right holder, but Bethesda, EA and LA must all realise that from an economic perspective, anything to bring the SWTOR setting (or around that period) into the public eye is good marketing?
Once people finish KOTOR 3 and crave more, where would they go? Straight onto SWTOR, granting the trio above $$$.
Also, I can't really say i'm one for remakes of old styles. I like revived IP's, but not particularly old mechanics, as most of those...

I suppose that makes sense. *If* someone simply looked at trends; spoke to the community and learned from the best games in each genre then they could indeed make very good games.
Of course, in reality, most people *that* involved would probably have to be either extremely dedicated to the pursuit of wealth (in which case they'd probably be in another industry, like finance) or they'd probably have a love of games themselves.
The games industry doesn't often yield...
