Yet another elitist view belittling the consumer. Why are consumers, the people who keep these companies afloat referred to as "whining"?
We have legitimate concerns, and the wallets always follow our voices, even if the ignorant suits refuse to acknowledge this.
And consequences? Has this guy forgot who he's referring to? If we don't buy, giants like Sony and Microsoft topple. He almost refers to us as if we're prisoners without choice, which shows his c...
But if you ARE always online, the kinect will always be watching... O_O
Still, it's a great day for consumers, as we've at least managed to have a good impact from our internet campaigns and pre-order choices.
This is incredible news. Actually makes me happy that THQ died and the franchise ended up in the hands of a company which is in touch with its customers.
Oh, but they do have full creative freedom. They just have to shave off a large chunk of important content to be released as day one DLC and use an EA-built system of always-online DRM.
Completely agree. Why play a prequel to a galaxy we know gets completely ruined after 3?
It might be ok to do what Dragon Age 2 did, having us experience events during the previous game(s) and then setting the rest of it afterwards, but failing to explain what happened after the end of three would be insulting to fans of the series.
As far as I can tell, the best things about SoD are the non-MMO elements. But then I wouldn't know as I own a PC and not an Xbox, and Microsoft enjoy abusing us like an embarrassing ex they're trying to push out of their life.
Still, from a purely business standpoint, Undead Labs would be better off ditching Microsoft altogether and either going multiplatform or PS4 exclusive. The Xbone is going to flop hard when it comes out, and any third party dev which clings to it with ex...
I think I'll start caring once they create a single-player Medieval/Steampunk game similar in style to many of the earlier Final Fantasies. They've lost their touch entirely, and their overwillingess to mess with a system which never needed changing is harming them.
Having said that, I'd be ok with new action-combat mechanics. Turn based is great for portable devices, but on next-gen hardware, more immersive systems are needed (perhaps Square Enix should watch wha...
While it would be nice to see a couple of Marvel and Star Wars characters in KH3, I still think the focus should be on characters from core Disney IP's. I just don't think it would be Kingdom Hearts if it focused too heavily on Disney's acquisitions.
Darth Vader as one of the primary antagonists would be awesome though!
The tragic thing is that Ryse is never going to be enjoyed by most gamers due to its presence on a platform which seems set to tank.
It'd really help if future articles like this have a "(parody)" bracket in the title so we are aware of their nature beforehand.
No, you'd still have to choose a console based on value for money, quality of services, promised peripherals etc. much like how you choose a PC from different manufacturers.
All it means is that rather than paying $900 plus game costs to play all the franchises you want to, you'd only need to pay around $450. Microsoft and Sony will only lose out if their hardware is inferior or the prices are too high.
Admittedly it would change the nature of consoles quite h...
Maybe I'm alone here, but I actually prefer getting unfinished games earlier, like happened with minecraft or other purchaseable betas, as long as game companies genuinely do patch them properly. Perhaps patches annoy console users, but on steam, they're like Christmas presents, especially when they're for games which promise new content.
Agree with the always online thing though. Companies simply can't be allowed to do what EA did with Simcity.
The less exclusives the better. If companies aren't able to compete on games anymore then they'll focus instead on better hardware for lower prices.
I mean seriously, would you rather that people using the other console can't play games which you can, or would you rather that you could play games they can? Feeling of purchasing-decision-superiorit y vs enjoyment of other games. I'm pretty sure I know which option a mature adult would choose (I used to be a playstation ...
And PC gamers, and perhaps also steambox users. Would you care if Sony did the same thing? How would you feel if you couldn't play Fallout 4 because Sony bribed Bethesda? Are you genuinely that self-centred and woefully ignorant?
There are a lot of PS3 users out there (I am not among them, being PC based myself), and they are all harmed equally by this decision. I don't know where you get the idea that fanboys deserve to be listed separately from.

Microsoft's buying of exclusivity should be banned by regulatory agencies anyway, as it only hurts consumers at the end of the day. I mean, do you really gain satisfaction from knowing that people who bought different machines can't play the same games as you, feeling happy because of their misery? If so then you're a vile human being.
It's not as if games companies factor the extra cash from Microsoft into their development decisions, instead being bought out at a lat...
It'll revolutionise it by ending mod communities and ensuring that services like Gaikai have monopoly power over indie devs.
No revolution needed thankyou!
I had such high expectations when I bought that as a kid....ruined when I placed it in the disc tray and turned the machine on...and the wretched thing didn't even grow a beanstalk when I buried it outside.
Microsoft is already dead to PC gamers. Steam has supplanted them completely, and we already rarely see any Microsoft games on the platform.
I may be wrong, but it does seem like the company is putting all its eggs in one basket by abandoning PC gamers entirely, and as a PC gamer who doesn't care for Sony-Microsoft fanboyism, it is clear that their console is currently weaker than the PS4.
@hydralysk
I googled a poll and found that a large majority of people seem to have chosen the destroy ending. It wouldn't be ideal, but It'd probably be for the best that destroy and control were canon and largely wind up in the same scenario, with minor easter eggs which might reflect which one the player chose.
Synthesis was probably the most cheesy ending of the lot anyway ( exactly how you said it, "somehow" becoming cyborg).

That alternate ending would have given much better choices.
