This article reeks of bias and closed mindedness.

The writer clearly doesn't realise that his moral opinion isn't the "right" moral opinion.
There's nothing worse than a game or movie which adheres to contemporary moral values, as it is mundane and unimaginative.
We need MORE morally dubious games which present the world from different points of view.

But then I'm not going to be as arrogant as the article writer and ...

Right, so when we're all using an Oculus Rift, where's the second screen going to be?

This. If she were writing for a feminist website, she'd have every right to mention her personal views and score the game accordingly.

Instead, she has arrogantly assumed that her views are shared by everyone else and people who hold different should be penalised and punished for doing so, as a result writing her bias into a review on a mainstream site.

The review has tarnished Gamespot's credibility, and for their sake, she should be barred from writ...

She should be penalised for it.

Misogyny, and content in general is very subjective. It may not be to the taste of some, but others may like its presence.
The game should not be docked on what moral stances it takes (would you dock the Witcher for "misogyny"? One man might hat the cards, but others have loved them), it should be judged on the more objective parts of it.
Graphics, gameplay, customisability, overall strength of the writing (even if the...

Right, so in GTAV you steal cars, rob banks, commit first degree murder of innocents with a variety of gruesome, kill police officers on a regular basis and it's the SEX scene which gets all the attention!!??

Plus, the rating is there for a reason. If parents choose to expose their children to virtual sex and violence at a young age, then that's their decision to make. As long as there is a clear and appropriate rating on the front, there is no such thing as going &qu...

By definition it isn't misogyny.

Misogyny is "dislike of, contempt for, or ingrained prejudice against women"

By extension, this isn't misogynistic unless Quiet is portrayed as evil (because she's a woman) or inferior to men in the context of the game.

I hate modern feminism. It's ran its course and is now a movement which only seeks to silence other voices.

It shouldn't.

18+ is the rule (well, in the UK)

Beyond that, censorship is indeed the worst affront to free speech.
There might have to, of course, be stricter measures in place to ensure that children do not gain access to these games.

As long as women are able to do what they want to do in life without their gender being a hindrance then the feminist movement has achieved its objective and may now end.

Even still, I'd like to see more games which explicitly attack feminism, along with other "good" movements which we all just accept the virtues of like sheep in a flock.

What are story-driven games but a medium for debate?
Why can't we have games which support femin...

Ok, well ignoring that part I see your point. It doesn't make a lot of sense on the surface for a sniper to be dressed in so little.

That doesn't mean it can't make sense. If she has a personality which allows us to understand exactly why she dresses the way she does, she could be one of the most "sexy" as Kojima puts it, female characters in gaming.

Now I'm no big supporter of 21st century feminism, but I'd expect her lack of re...

Why do you believe that scantily-clad women are automatically prostitutes?
I don't understand how wearing less clothing automatically implies that you want to take money for sex.

If a man walked around in similarly revealing attire, would you call him a prostitute?

As long as the outfit works with her personality then why not?
It would be a bit stupid if her personality didn't explain the way she dressed, but as long as it is believable, then I see no problem.

Besides, most of the players will be men, and this will naturally appeal to most of the playerbase.
I find the argument that things like this "cause" objectification rather than serve as a natural extension of that which is inherent (in varying degree...

Europe is "Western", with the Bosphorus Strait and Kazakhstan marking the East. I even consider Russia to be "Western" given that it has historically been a European power.

The universe isn't destroyed (in the most popular choices, control or destroy). Those two could be made canon (control might be much the same as destroy - Shephard's spirit might have vanished with the reapers, which could be the subject of a unique sidequest) and we could see a game in which humans have discovered Earth to be the only source of whatever element powered the mass relays.

So in the next Mass Effect we could see a game where you start off on dystopian Ea...

The Bioware and Bethesda RPG styles also trumped those of Japan. The RPG genre which was once dominated by Japan found its home in the West. CDProjekt joined in with the Witcher 2 (Witcher 1 wasn't as mainsteam).

If Japan finds a way to embrace freeform while maintaining the solid story content which made its earlier games so successful then it could once again become a major player on the world gaming scene.

I'm glad people over there are accepting it. The Japanese style of game I feel could have a revolution in the next few years (as Western games did a while back), which will hopefully bring it back into the fray.

A good place to start would be to stop making endless portable games.

After all those claims about listening to their fans, going and making a prequel is going to prove it was al PR and they didn't actually bother to take anything into account.

Nobody wants to play a storyline in a universe which is shortly going to get FUBAR.
