So now they're going to waste time making Qunari dialogue which will have to be a huge departure from that of the other races. I applaud bioware's commitment to making this game more freeform, but I'm really worried that this level of breadth is going to impact the raw amount of story content.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not just dismissively attacking this out of spite, but am simply a believer that this will take development time away from story content for the more ...

What so now forum comments can be taken as "slander"?

I don't see how trying to call foul on a company which seems like it is scamming people can be in any way prosecuted.
I would understand if this was coming from a rival company, but if the law seriously protects this project then the law is wrong, and the judges who created it ought to be ashamed.

I don't see what is wrong at all with slander or libel if it is not done for the spe...

@Blacklash93

I'm fully aware that misogyny means hatred of women. No, I don't think we should give credit to the idea that such a disposition is in any way a virtue, but I'd like to see that argument raised, and I'd like to encourage those who do feel that way to speak their mind through media, no matter how much I may disagree with them.

There is always the possibility that the common consensus of morality is incorrect. If we try to silence p...

Ah I didn't read that. Glad to hear it though, as EA (despite being in some ways a wretched company) do produce a fair amount of awesome games.

Because this is the Western media we're talking about XD

I never get these critics. If a game promotes moral values you don't agree with, just use it to provoke a debate about the values themselves or ignore it (ie. don't attack the game).
No view is beyond criticism (eg. what if I said misogyny could be a virtue? I don't think it is myself, but I'm interested to hear arguments from those who do) and the internet and media always seem to explode when something fails to indoctrinate people towards their ideology.

He's right. We need to kill F2P by not spending a penny on it.
Companies like EA which make silly statements such as "all our future games will be multiplayer" however use their market power to take away our choice, and as such should be condemned as a cancer in the harshest terms.

I think the problem most people have is with arrogant game industry individuals who claim that F2P, always-online and multiplayer is the one future for all games and that othe...

You make a good point actually. Most men want their character to look visually as attractive to females as possible when they play games. So why wouldn't women want theirs to look like a female variant of the same?

As for females often wearing skimpy clothing and men not, this is just down to market demographics. I'm sure as more women play and create hardcore games we'll see more male characters wearing whatever women fantasise them with.

As a man I've always enjoyed rescuing damsels in distress.
I enjoy seeing women have personalities but I prefer it to be something traditionally feminine (well, not masculine).

Most women I'd imagine have nothing wrong with men who hold these views, a moderate version of historical chivalry and most men I expect share them.
Straight men also generally find the female body attractive (something I again think both genders would agree is a good thing) and...

So they select interested pupils based on the colour of their skin and deny the opportunity to people of other ethnicities?

Well that's not in the slight bit racist (sarcasm).

Still, I'm a libertarian. I see nothing wrong with this as long as it's acceptable for the same to be done with White or Asian people.

It's important the line is well defined though. A threat of violence is very different to name calling.
Cyberbullying is not and should not be a crime (children should sooner be banned from the internet than that happen), as this would heavily restrict freedom of speech (I'm talking about the Ask.fm girl here and her vengeful father).

I fear that politicians may use media support to throw both into the same category despite the huge difference which exists bet...

I don't see a problem with cyberbullying (sticks and stones - if you can't deal with it then don't use forums or twitter) from a legal perspective, but a detailed death threat is a different matter entirely.
There's a difference between saying "I'll kill him for this" and "I'm going to kill your children when they leave school" as the latter is both vile and detailed enough to indicate a potentially real threat while the former is just an ex...

Agreed somewhat BUT the only reason this threat is taken seriously is because that troll could theoretically carry out his attack, and so I sympathise with the woman.

Freedom of speech has a price though. We can either keep freedom of privacy and sacrifice freedom of speech or we can allow complete freedom of speech and have a society where every action is monitored so we can catch people who actually intend to carry out their threats with 100% efficiency. Not a dystopian pol...

Are they ever going to make a Pirate Cove sequel?

I see your point actually, about seeing the chaos on Earth after 3.
What I think would be interesting would be a game set among that chaos on Earth followed by a game where you play as your son/daughter/grandson/granddau ghter being the captain first ship to leave the planet using a ship-based mass relay (perhaps the raw material used is super rare and located deep in some obscure region of the world) and make contact with the races long forgotten.
I would be awesome visiting ...

I wouldn't mind having a choice, but I'd be worried this would drastically reduce story content, as they'd have to make everything much more generic (unlike Dragon Age, where there is less difference between each playable species).
I also don't see playing an alien as fun as might appear. Players (I know I would) would have a lot of trouble empathising with the PC if they don't have a humanoid face. I could see Asari playable (for female gamers), but the only real ...

Yeah, but if they were going to do that, why bother making it a mass effect universe game rather than a new series? If they were going to do that, they'd pretend it was a new IP and surprise us, as literally nothing would be carried over. That, and the universe would be too weird.

It'll most likely happen at the same time as ME1-3, though I'd like it personally if they made the two endings which everyone chose (control and destroy) canon, where both lead to the sa...

Seriously this is just stupid. Why can't they do it the old way with a new world each time?
It's sad when even the sequels to a game have sequels.

4564d ago 4 agree1 disagreeView comment

It won't be, but even still, what's so good about exclusives?

Do you derive pleasure from knowing that millions of other gamers who bought a near-identical console from a different brand will be miserable as a result of being denied the ability to play games which you can?

So we get a whole trilogy of Left 4 Dead games starting a year after episode 2 and still we hear nothing of Half Life 3?
I hope Valve aren't trolling and that they'll release the game as part of the Orange Box 2, along with HL3 and something small and new.
