Same regarding hours put into this game, i have 4 characters and 3 of them have around 100hrs each , with one guy, my main one, with nearly 130hrs. When you think of the blockbuster titles this gen that all have an average of 7/8hrs gameplay to finish it, the Souls games put that to shame and are one of the very few games that is worth every penny of its price tag.
When i played Demons Souls, i never joined or met anyone, it was a pure solo experience and i still loved it. I ...
Great summary of your experience and you described all the feelings us fans have for this game, the addictive & immersive nature, the fact that you're always thinking about it, the sense of adventure ect... Its a completely captivating game, my favorite this gen and im glad you liked it.
I also like how you understood the difficult reputation it has which you perfectly summed up with "it's ultimately only as hard as you make it for yourself".
I p...
The mod is amazing and groundbreaking as most fans know, but this really sounds like its going to take it to another level.
People talk about all the great games coming this year, yet ive never seen the DayZ game mentioned yet and it should be as i reckon its going to be one of the biggest games ever.
I do think boss battles are important for 3 reasons;
First; Nostalgia. Nothing brings us back to the good old days of gaming like a good boss battle, it was an important pillar of games back then and there's no reason to remove them now. Remember those nights where you'd stay up late fighting that tough boss and then finally beat him and the huge satisfaction you would get. Then the next day tell all your friends that you beat him and how you did it. Yeah...

True, i agree.
Have to say though when you said;
"One man (Gabe) and one company (valve) stood for PC gaming. And now they are at the top of it all."
...it sounded like the intro to a Hollywood trailer, the guy with the rusty deep voice doing the narrating.
THEY SAID...PC gaming was full of pirates!
THEY SAID...DRM!
THEY SAID...Crappy ports!
But now they're changing their tune because ONE MAN and ...
Good for you and trust me, waiting is the hardest part.
Completely agree.
Also, i liked the way you said "daring indies", thats why i feel Indies are so important, they experiment, they try new things, its all about creativity and innovation with indies and they dont have to worry about publishers, and the restraints that brings, or high expectations. Greenlight is great for that and blurring the line between dev and gamer or rather creator and player.
"Freedom" is another thing you said and it is the vibe i ge...
I feel that Steam has played a huge role in reducing pirating and also in making PC gaming a lot more attractive and accessible.
I know there is lots of guys out there like you who use pirating as a means of checking out a game, i do myself, and although its not as detrimental as the guys who pirate instead of buying, Steam, or rather the publishers could reduce that big time by releasing demos for all their games.
Valve is probably the most important develop...
So so true, i never thought having too many games would be a problem but it is i tells ya, it is.
Curse those god damn steam sales.
Same here.
I just love gaming, i hate idiots who get offended when other idiots insult a metal box the they happen to play their games on.
Yeah, like me. Im new to PC gaming and although i know a fair bit about the graphic settings and what the usual tweaks are now, but that took a lot of reading around the web from me and anyway a lot of games seem to have their own little separate tweaks that improve performance.
A tool like this would of been, and still would be, handy to have.(Even though i have an AMD system)
I personally feel PC gaming is rising big time and i notice a lot of people migrating, so more tool...
Hahahahahahahahahah....oh Hitler you old kidder!
Im not a big fan of shooters, i play them now and again and go thru a faze where i'll play BF3 nonstop for a few weeks and then not for a year. I just lose interest too quickly.
But ive never come across a shooter that is as much fun and refreshing as Borderlands, especially BL2 which im playing now. Its just a blast to play.
Far Cry 3 is a beautiful game too, literally (PC), plus its great fun, although the protagonist is probably the worst ive played a...
Kenny drove me crazy, he was an ungrateful, selfish bastard.
At the end of the 4th episode when i asked for his help and he talked about all the times i let him down, even though i stood by him in all the crap he did, that was the final straw and i just told him to go f@~k himself, which was nice to be able to do.
I just wanted Ben to redeem himself, the poor bastard.
But yeah, Walking Dead has been my goty all year, but man, im playing Far Cry 3 (PC) now and its some of the best fun ive had in years.
Built my first gaming pc recently and ive been loving the experience so far, but nothing has blown me away yet like Far Cry 3, i find it hard to play the game because i just spend most of my time looking around and admiring how beautiful this game looks, especially at sunrise.
Looks aside, its a great game and im really enjoying it so far.
Not interested in AC3.
They can shove their bonus edition up their hole!!
FIFA13 is the first game i ever traded in because its nothing but a glorified scripted piece of donkey poo.
Well you could try.
Yeah, the 1st one wouldn't be as "accessible" as the second, although i loved it. But yeah, people who dont like the 1st one should definitely give the 2nd one a try, its easier to get into and more of a modern RPG compared to the 1st one.
Cant wait for this, sounds great.
