Its not back and its not gonna run FIFA close at all.
PES is dead this gen, its as simple as that. They haven't adapted and dont look like they will. Every year i see previewers saying the same thing. At first i was fooled and got excited, but grew more skeptical every year as it became more apparent that the engine is out of date and the developers cant adapt to next-gen consoles.

What concerns me is that if BF3 pushed the consoles to their limits, as DICE says, what more can BF4 do that a expansion pack cant?
Should of just worked on BFBC3 where they could try out new things for BF4.

And to touch on your first point, speed up going thru menus. Its so slow. Also I hate going into a certain section and when you leave it saves, regardless if you actually made any changes, and you have to wait while it saves instead of saving in the background like most other games.
High thru ball being basically useless. It will only work a certain way or wont work at all.

I would love to see a HD remake of "Sheep,Dog 'n' Wolf". Not much people know of it but the guys that do know how much damn fun that game was. I remember staying up a whole night trying to figure a particular level.
Another one that comes to mind is "Tomba!". I remember when i only had a Sega and my friend had a PSOne and i loved going over to his house to play this all day. Great game.
Yep, i feel they've failed to adapt to this generation and i personally cant see them making any great game for this gen, rather im just hoping they dont fall apart as a result and instead step it up a notch for the next gen.

Havent played CQ's or BF3 at all for about a month or two,(thanks to dark souls) but man thats definitely my cue to get warmed up.
They've not all been complete disasters, but yeah, there hasn't exactly been a really "good" one either.
Konami just haven't got to grips with this gen, simple as that and i dont think they will either.
FIFA have stepped it up and its my main footie game now, but not a patch on the pleasure and many hours of satisfaction i got from PES4/5/6 days.
That been said, im surprised at how early this demo is being released and eager to try it reg...
MGS, my favorite game series. MGS3, my favorite game. Big Boss, my favorite protagonist. The End, my favorite boss fight. MGS2 theme, my favorite game soundtrack.
Man do i love those games. Really hope he goes old school with MGS5, place it just after the events of MGS3 or would love to have a game where you played as The Boss, before MGS3, as she met/assembled The Cobra Unit.
PES was the guys who raised the bar in the gameplay of footie games. They were a small development team, and still are, who entered a market which was completely dominated by FIFA. Because FIFA had no competition it became lazy and just produced the same arcadey game every year. But thanks to the growing popularity and huge critical acclaim PES gained FIFA took the finger out and started improving their game.
Its as simple as that, without PES FIFA wouldn't be as good as ...
Agreed, Japanese still know how to make great games with the Souls games being perfect examples of that. Although, thats also the only Japanese game that could not only implement online smoothly, but to some extent revolutionize it.
Anyway, i play FIFA now, its a great game, but still doesnt give me that magic feel the old PES, like PES5/6, could give me. But neither does the latest PES's, they're terrible really and i sadly cant see them retaining its solid gameplay...
The article kinda contradicts itself in the end when it states the obvious which is that there is no release date for GTAV yet.
I reckon its more because of the amount of big hitters that release in the fall tat causes these delays rather than any single game. Delays can be frustrating for fans but at least its more time to perfect the game, thats why i wasnt so disappointed when Bioshock got delayed as im a huge fan and kinda glad they have that time to polish it as 1 & ...
MGS is my favorite gaming series and for me MGS4 WAS something different. It was a great game, i loved it, but i dont know what it was but it just didnt have that MGS feel for me. It was Kojima's effort at making agame for a wider audience and to an exent it worked, but like i said, it lacked that MGS feel i got from the other games.

Not bad games and i reckon Watch Dogs 'could' be something special from what i saw at E3, but GTA is a different kettle of fish altogether. Its like saying 5 things a lion needs to be worried about and listing stuff like a hedgehog, head of cabbage, a shoe etc... Not bad things by themselves but compared to a lion they're pretty average.

It would be interesting i agree but surely it would be better to have them spend their time working on the game itself, fixing little bugs, solving gameplay problems and maybe bringing us a Battlecorder of some sort?

Exactly, they need to pull the finger out. They cant keep making minor changes then present as major changes, while ignoring major flaws, which is exactly what they're doing now.
Personally, i think its over for PES this gen. But i do think, or at least hope, that they will make amends next gen. The news that they will use the new Fox Engine and that they opened a studio in London kinda gives me hope in that respect.
