Always felt the InFamous games were very underated, they were so much fun and played so smoothly, you'd think a game like that would do well because there isnt much open-world superhero games out there.
Also agree with R3, now im not saying its as good as Half-life 2 but it reminded me so much of that game, the atmosphere, the characters and story. Im even convinced one level was definitely inspired by the "Ravenholm" level from HL2. It also has the best and mos...
Surprised i haven't played any of those games.
I think the problem with those games, for me anyway, they just look like the sort of games you wouldn't like. Its something you dont really think about, you just glance and quickly assume you wouldnt like it. Marketing and hype are important in that sense, where you try a game just to see what all the fuss is about.
Some of my favorite games are ones i didnt think i would like at the time and ended up playing them...
Thanks man.
Hate when they put lists into slides.
@Genuine-User
If its a good game, who cares.
Look around your room, the plastic comes from oil, think about where oil comes from and how its obtained. Your clothes, how is that made? Your food?
If you want to go deeper, unless you live in either the north or south pole, the chances are your house is on land that was pillaged somewhere down the line.
So yeah.... i forgot what my point was.
Exactly Yi-Long. I know if they expand the world it would be pretty strange to have a huge city with no vehicles and with the freedom of an open-world game it would be just weird to have batman in his costume walking along the street, cars driving by.
Its going to be very interesting, im a huge fan of the other two, they have an old school gaming feel to them, remind me of games i grew up playing. Pity Rocksteady aint doing it though, that has me a bit worried.
Or we could call him Papa Bouba Diop.
I like North, but for me Hayters rusty, gravel voice IS snakes voice for me, its just a part of the series as anything else. Like, most gaming protagonist have regular generic voices but the minute you hear snakes voice you know exactly who it is straight away.
It is going to be very weird hearing snake as another generic voice, it wont feel right at all.
Yeah, there is no middleground with those slimy bastards.
"Because they're stupid, that's why. That's why everybody does everything."
- Homer Simpsons.
Wise words.
Nice podcast, enjoyed listening to it.
Kinda agree regarding Bioshock Infinite. This game was a bit of a let down for me, Bioshock 1 was the complete package for me, one of my all time favorites, even 2 was a better game gameplay wise but just had a weaker story and less of an impact.
I really thought this was the next step for the series, especially when all the reviews were looking great. But overall the story was ok, better that the average but nothing spe...
Completely agree and it felt like a breath of fresh air in a seemingly "been there, done that" generation.
The amount of hours i put into that game is ridiculous and even now and then i think about going back for a game but dont because if i do then its sayanora to my huge backlog for a good while.
Although i am somewhat concerned about this one, Miyazaki leaving and the talk of accessibility. Really hope they dont take away this games uniqueness an...
Some developers, like Dice in this instance, remind me of parents. They see their kids completely different from how other people see them, for better or worse, and if you ever criticize their kids they seemed shocked and say "No, my son/daughter would never do that."
I completely agree, very well said. So true.
I wouldn't agree with your overall negativity but i do agree with certain points you made.
The presentation maybe didnt live up to the hype but what really does these days, things get hyped out to the last so its always hard to live up to it.
They told us what their aim was with the console, they showed us its features, specs, some gameplay footage and release time. They didn't show the actual console but i couldn't give a crap what it looks like, why would i, it...
Nice one, thanks.
Think of all the great games people talk about, think of your favorite games and then think about why they are your favorite game, was it the gameplay or graphics?
That should decide the debate for most. Half-Life, Red Dead, Super Mario Bros 3, GTA San Andreas, Dark Souls, Oblivion, Fallout 3, MGS3, PES6, Bioshock etc... These are my favorite games and considered by many to be the greatest games out there. Its not because of the graphics i loved these games, its because of so...
Well said Campy, completely agree.
Its not a maths test or 'lets-share-everything' ; contest, gaming consoles are for gaming, so, i dont know, why not focus on making great games?!.
And also, "I'm going home to play my film flam head", just rolls off the tongue.
Yeah but i think i read on PC Gamer today that it hits Nvidia cards much harder.
EDIT:
Yeah, to quote an article on PC Gamer;
"This footage was taken on a machine with an ATI Radeon HD 6970. Running the game on a comparable machine with a GeForce GTX 560 Ti, there’s a substantial performance hit with TressFX enabled – so much so that it’s unplayable. The 6970 is a more powerful card, but not by a huge margin – I wonder how much of this is down to TressFX ...
Yeah, the saying "Prevention is better than cure" comes to mind.
Its like these guys are lying on a train track saying "Its fine, no train is going to come and if it does then i'll worry".
"Every console game MUST have a steady stream of DLC because, otherwise, guess what? It becomes traded in, or it’s just rented.” thats a really good point that i never considered as a gamer."
I dont agree with that statement. I just took a glance at the collection of games in front of me and will name a few of them, Dark Souls, Bioshock, Arkham City, Red Dead, InFamous 2 and GTAIV.
Now i know some of them have dlc, good dlc at that, but still, ive come back ...
Not for all the apple sauce in Glückenschabbel!
