@Blastoise:
The first Bioshock had a great story line with awesome twists. The second game was the exact same game with none of the twist.
In my opinion, Bioshock 2 should have definitely been on that list more so than many on the current list.
I don't need to try, I think Halo 4 is gonna be amazing!
With the amount of resources MS has put into this and the talent, I can't see how it is going to suck.
I can't wait for November! XD
If the feature provided by SmartGlass is compelling, users will. After all, it is likely available on a device the customer ALREADY OWN!
So what options to Nintendo have as alternative to Surface?
Sony barely has some based on Android, and it ain't popular. That honor goes to Kindle Fire first, then Nook Tablet/Color.
I think Xbox branding on a tablet intended for more general purpose than gaming isn't suitable. Maybe they could have a Surface: Xbox Edition, but I fail to see the point of it. The main selling point isn't the games, it is a tablet that can replace your laptop!
It makes sense, the gap won't matter as much anymore primarily because we are quickly hitting a ceiling where increase in technology, does not translate to increase in "new" experiences. Before there were games you couldn't make, because the console was too slow, but now a days even on an Xbox360/PS3 there are practically very few games you can't make.
A downgraded port to Wii U won't be a problem!
@moparful99:
To be fair, if I don't play those games and would never buy them otherwise they are hardly worth $180 to me?
Furthermore, once your subscription runs out all those games are no longer accessible to you, so you didn't really get *free* games, but rather access to them.
Again to be fair to some that distinction doesn't matter, but it certainly isn't *FREE* because you paid continually to access them. It's a serv...
This really comes down to preference, because it isn't an Apples to Apples comparison. It's kind of hard to compare an experience which changes from person to person.
For me, I don't play or care about the games given on PSN+, but I do play online a lot so having the ability to easily get games going with my online friends is monumental.
People that do that a lot know how frustrating it is that you can't communicate with your friends while th...
@BuffMordecai:
I like companies that are upfront about features. What is paid and what is free!
I also believe in a free market with fair trade. Meaning I know what I'm getting and at what price. It doesn't matter if it is way overpriced. People way overpay for brand name stuff, but it ain't my business if I don't want it!
On every Xbox 360 console box, there is writing telling you XBL features are a premium paid feature. The...
@Septic:
"Microsoft hit the final nail in the coffin for Rare and whilst you might like Kinect, surely even you can see what a tremendous loss gamers have suffered when considering the sheer quality of the games Rare was churning out in the good ol days."
MS doesn't have a great track record of taking over companies, but Rare did make the unsuccesful Conker before MS, then critically well accepted then Banjo-Kazooie, Kameo and Viva Pinata. Which...
There are a lot of cost associated with running a retail store that people are completely clueless about.
Some of them:
* Monthly rent cost for retail space in a busy area. Easily $3000-4000 monthly.
* Employee cost which hovers around $1500-2000 per employee. So a store would easily accrue $8000 for 4-5 employees plus taxes/benefits
* Marketing cost which is difficult to ascertain
* Legal and administrative fees to applicable state ag...
Well making great games that don't sell does nobody good!
Contrary to what most people believe (as most aren't business savvy), profit to investors and benefit to the general public goes hand in hand. To put it short, there is a reason why the US produces most of the advancements in technology and research. It's because the US is the most capitalistic country in the world!!!
Rare is definitely no longer what it was, and the talent has long left. R...
The ability to play across multiple devices is fantastic as long as it's devices I'm likely to own all ready.
Which is good news, because the game will be available on XBL Arcade, Windows 8, Windows Phone and MS Surface. It is also an asynchronous multi-player game, so the availability on multiple platform is a even better!
We disagreed, because plenty of us has no issues including matchmaking which was not affected. Besides, it was fixed within hours. I call that pretty good for the few that was affected.
You can go back to your PSN if you think it is a better service. We won't miss you.
@optimus:
"One time, my internet was down and i made the mistake of saving my game in the cloud."
on XBL, the cloud saves are saved locally on yo...
Look at that, only a few hours!
They fixed it faster than some other companies take their service down for maintenance. Heck, they fixed it faster than Amazon EC2 (cloud) fixes their outage for their enterprise ready service. The one that Netflix uses for their excellent streaming service!
That is why I love Xbox Live, they report issues, both on their website and the twitter page even if it only affects a small subset of people.
When XBL do ...
The only real change for desktop users is the new start screen instead of the start bar if you want to ignore Metro all together, but why would you?
The start screen is vastly more useful than the start bar, that was cluttered with crap when apps were installed.
Searching would give you irrelevant content, and navigating the bar was tiresome. Now, I just hit Windows Key (like I used to), type in the search and optionally choose one of the filters. Instant acc...
I love Metro UI! It actually efficiently uses the space in a minimalistic fashion. Easy to read, find and very efficient at spotting important information.
The awesomeness comes to full fruition when you customize the screen to your liking. It's like iGoogle, but it actually works well!
My only complaint? To some degree, I have to re-learn the UI.
I think the issue is the high price tag of $250 plus a memory card requirement to play non-must-have games. Most people in that demographic has a smart phone, and they can keep themselves busy with it instead.
Why would I care about YouTube, Netflix or any other app on PS Vita when it likely does better on my iPhone anyhow that I have a paid data plan? I'm not going to pay extra just to have it on the PS Vita!
So it's left to gaming experience strict...
SC: Conviction hasn't made it to the PS3 so far, so I doubt it will ever come. When a certain amount of time passes, developers rarely ever go back and port it.
Maybe a few years into PS4's life?
I personally like how SC evolved and that there are now options for stealth, action or panther.
What happened to people supporting changes? CoD keeps pretty much the same game play people love, and they get hate for it. SC tries something new and someone gets upset.
You can't win them all!
I really don't feel like Uncharted 3, Gears of War 3 or Mass Effect 3 should be on that list. It seems out of place, since they all were solid sequels.
It's not like Dragon Age II, Bioshock 2 or Ninja Gaiden 3 who was almost universally accepted as a "worse" sequel.
I feel it is a poor list that just picked on hugely popular *recent* games!
