@ShinMaster:
PSP Minis requrie an SDK that cost around $1500+ with other requirements.

@Skate-AK:
That's a good thing that there is more content. I just wish all content would be available to everyone on all platforms.
@sjaakiejj
"Are you trying to say Facebook isn't crap?"
Indeed! Facebook isn't crap just because you are too cool to like it.
Millions of people use it while there are many competitors. I think FB speaks for itself.
"Microsoft as a company had little to do with it, Steve Ballmer even less."
Perhaps you should read the entire conversation before commenting. This was a response to ax...
@OmniSlashPT:
"It's not because they need to go multiplat or they need more money, it's because of their contract"
It's hard to say, but the allure of multi-platform for a wider audience is definitely a good incentive to any developer. Who wouldn't want their game played by more people and make some extra bucks while at it?
I think Sony just didn't have a good enough offer to keep them exclusive. That's techn...
It's ironic since Sony was touting how open PSN was, yet an indie dev can't even publish their game. At least on XBL anyone with a $100 can self-publish if negotiation fails!
In the end though, PS3 owners didn't loose out they still got this great game and in a twist of irony I think they got some extra content. Anyone confirm?
@axelstone:
"I was a huge fan of M$ until Ballmer became CEO. I can't stand that guy! Anything he touches turns into crap."
What about Ballmer do you not like? Generalized statements without facts do not say much nor does narrowingly focusing on the negatives.
Ironically, the Xbox 360 was created under Ballmer's watch which you bought and has been a huge success. Even the competitors wouldn't deny that.

If MS where to buy a majority stake in ATVI, they would merely be ensuring platform preferential treatment. MS would not prevent any game from appearing on a competing console due to major losses in profits. However, the cost of acquiring ATVI is so big, I doubt MS would be interrested despite the large number of profitable IPs.
@axelstone:
Did you know MS owns a stake in Facebook? Did you know MS saved Apple from bankruptcy and subsequently owned a stake? MS...
I would sooner believe a model like Gaikai or OnLive will succeed before Ouya does! Since I don't think either Gaikai or OnLive will succeed in the long run, you know the answer!!!
Console releases used to be about strictly content and it still is to some degree, but now it also adds the entertainment feature and social aspect of it.
Ouya has none of that, but a bunch of Android games on the big screen with low-end hardware. I just don't see how it w...
Actually MS produces numbers for Japan too usually in their annual report, but they obviously don't do it every month. Neither does Sony.
It doesn't matter though for MS to have:
"Xbox 360 Best-selling console of 2011 Worldwide"

It must have sold combined more in Europe, Ameri...
"Sony might gain market share with a price cut in the US, but seems to be outselling Xbox in other countries."
Answer:
"Xbox 360 Best-selling console of 2011 Worldwide"

MS hasn't had a price cut since 2009. Sony had two, this will be a third one.

They didn't re-release Sigma 2 with decapitation so I doubt this version will come to Xbox 360 or PS3. NG3 is a terrible game anyhow, go play NG1 & 2 instead.
You forgot Gears of War: Judgement! My most anticipated game coming out. XD
I think the drop in revenue and probably profits is indicative of two things:
a) dropping demand due to lack of new interesting software. A few games here and there is a far cry from what we used to get where things were new and shiny. What we get now is just quality games, but hardly innovative.
b) saturation of too many low priced games. Why pay top dollars for a recen...
@h311rais3r:
I used to think the older phat Xbox 360 looked cheap due to the matte plastic and the PS3 looked damn expensive (which it was).
With the PS3 Slim it looks so cheap with that matte and textured plastic and the PS3 beetle (Slim 2) looks even cheaper. The Xbox 360 S now looks all shiny and expensive.
My only complaint, why isn't the Xbox 360 smaller without and external power brick and why does it still have a tray?
It looks really nice, but I already own the Gears of War Xbox 360. By far my favorite design so far, with a close second with the Star Wars one.
I like the fact that there is artwork on this (or some sort of design), not just a pure color change like some of the older Xbox 360 special editions and PS3.
@SnakePlissken:
"Seems like alot of you new generation of kids are so frikin spoiled, you guys are in constant upgrade mode."
You do know that historically people naturally upgraded earlier due to the shorter console cycle, right?
This is the longest console generation that I can remember.
Even the pricing on consoles is historically higher even after adjusting for inflation and it shouldn't be. MS certainly ha...
The next Xbox is going to be more of a home media server that integrates with everything including your tablet, smart phone, and even your PC. That is at least that the impression I get with all the leaks.
Those crazy 16-cores is to run multiple background tasks, such as background recording of video while you watch another video or play games, enable video chatting while playing games, keeping track of your calendar, background checking your email, enabling interactive stuff...
I think it would have been nice, but ME has so much dialogue and events. I don't know if that is practical from a financial perspective.
Then again, ME was relatively successful so they might profit enough.
I find it ironic you complain about console costing hundred of dollars, yet you bought a 3DS and a Vita recently. You don't exactly give me the impression you aren't loose with your money.
"I thought the lifespan of the PS3 was supposed to be 10 years!"
That's just marketing speak. At best it means we will still sell it in 10-years, not that we won't focus on another product that generates far more money.
No need to wish, just get it!
You can thank me later. XD
As a huge Gears of War fan, I cannot wait for this game!
Wish Epic could release it sooner, but all good things comes to those who wait.
@sjaakiejj:
"Sales != Quality"
Sales usually correlates with value. Do you know how value is defined? It is offering relative to competition with respect to price. I don't see another better offer?
I think it is pointless to talk to someone whom say:
"Windows sells loads, yet it's the worst operating system of the major three. Microsoft Office on Mac sells loads not because it's good,"
