Well, not really a trap but basically cheap publicity.

Even if Hideo Kojima tosses the console in the nearest bin the overall cost of the XB1s + game to Microsoft is nothing compared to what they spend on advertising anyway.

Since the device has a USB 3 connector you could use this on a PS4 although you would have to format the drive. In fact, all you need is an SSD then put it in a USB3 container and format the drive with the XBox. Basically, all you are doing is paying a premium for the XBox logo.

The PS4 and XB1 have a SATA2 bus (the PS4pro and I would assume the Scorpio has a SATA3 bus ) which basically means that the maximum throughput of all devices on the bus (including USB) will be 300...

Playing Gravity Rush remastered on the PS4 is fine if you turn up the sensitivity on both your six-axis and your camera sensitivity. You really do need to make sure that you are comfortable with your sensitivity settings and your powerups.

Sensitivity is not a problem since you can adjust anytime but if you make your powerups (especially gravity slide) really high you may find that Kat is quite difficult to control especially on some of the challenges. Still, some of the Ja...

Technology moving too fast?

Most people do not have an understanding of technology not because it's moving so fast but because they can't be bothered learning. Just saying "I wan't aware" is not a good excuse since pretty much anyone who has a smart phone, tablet, laptop or desktop PC can get information that people living in the 1970's could only dream about.

As for standards, well they are normally ratified well before we see t...

The saying "caveat emptor" or "buyer beware" still applies but when you get into technical matters for most people it is just too much.

If you look at the HDMI specifications https://en.wikipedia.org/wi... version 1.4 only supports 4K@30fHz and not HDR. If you want 4K@60Hz with HDR then you need an HDMI 2.0 port (all PS4's have this since a recent update) and an HDMI 2.0 cable (essential) which the PS4 did not come with.

In addition, you also need a 4K TV that has a 2.0 HDMI in port as well as supporting HDR10 (for PS4, PS4pro and XB1s). ...

Err "Tearaway" is a PS4 and PSVita game.

As for "Below", "Cuphead", "Scalebound" and "Sea of Thieves" they are for the XB1 and MS Windows which kind of negates the reason for purchasing an XB1 or the Scorpio.

Yes "Crimson Dragon" was an XB1 exclusive and I can't even get sales figures they were so low, but Attack on the Titans (I think you mean "Attack on Titan"), Final Fantasy, One...

You forgot the demon's blood and fairy wings.

Oh, wait you can't use them they are for casting curses although they do inflict deadly poison and wind magic when applied to a steel sword which must be forged by the light of a full moon. 😉

Neverwinter (MMORPG) and Smite (Multiplayer online battle arena) which are free to play are also on the PS4 and have been for quite some time.

While I can't speak about Smite I do know Neverwinter heavily pushes microtransactions although they so far have not pushed pay to win. You can easily get to level 10 within a few hours without any need to purchase anything and by yourself. You can grind if you wish but the quest system is fair and IMHO quite interesting allowin...

I would assume most commenters here have played the original Uncharted game.

A feature of the UC1 is the fact that you can unlock the making of Uncharted which includes interviews with the artists, developers and the programmers. Watching this is a definite must for anyone wanting to know how a really good gaming company works.

BTW. The above is true for the PS3 version of UC1 although I would assume that would be the case for the PS4 remaster.

The PS4pro does have a SATA3 bus which has a maximum throughput of 600MB/sec compared to 300MB/sec for SATA2 which is what the PS3, XBox360, PS3 and XB1 use. That said most 5400 rpm hard disk drives have a read speed of approximately 90MB/sec with a write speed of 80MB/sec and a 7200rpm drive is about 22% faster.

The figures I game are approximate only and don't take into account the brand or the buffer or the short-term performance (very much higher) or sustained perfo...

It does have a 3m braided cable which is fairly long although you don't want to get too salty since you won't be able to play if you pull the cord out. So I guess playing Bloodborne, Dark Souls II and III are definitely out. 😉

I wonder how many consoles will be available per store and how quickly they will be sold out. A good guess would be 8:00 AM AEDT to possibly 8:10AM AEDT followed by the staff getting abuse because the irate customer could not get one for their "Precious" in time for Christmass. 😉

Of course, those same customers could always go on-line and pay two to five times what those consoles are worth.

As "Vegamyster" pointed out in the URL he gave us. Star Citizen will be a game made for high-end PC's which effectively cuts out all of the mid-range PC's as well.

I have pointed out this before but the PS4 and XB1 do actually fall into the mid-range category and effectively they probably won't run Star Citizen even on low settings. Sounds like a thumb the nose at those weak consoles except that most of the PC's sold today are actually less powerfu...

Actually, GTA 5 and Star Citizen are totally different genres. I do know that GTA 5 has microtransactions that for the majority of players are not necessary although for those impatient (I am being nice here) players you can spend real money.

@Vhampir

I can understand say $45 USD to play but $15,000 USD? I guess there is a sucker born every minute.

@KillBill

Where did "senis_kenis" say he/she pirated "Alan Wake" for his Linux-based PC?

You can actually get a legitimate copy of Alan Wake for about $30 USD on Steam although you can get it allot cheaper if you wait for a sale.

If you have a Linux-based PC (I have one) you can run games that were meant for MS Windows under compatibility software such as Wine of which you don't need a Microsoft license. You can ...

That's funny since I have never needed my PS4 to connect to the network when I play a downloaded game. Obviously, you do need the network to download the game originally.

Maybe you have confused the PS4 with the XB1 although Microsoft did say they don't need an always on or connect every 24 hours internet connection now.

Actually what you described is on occasion what happens to me when I browse the PSN store. I have broadband of 5MB/sec down and about 500KB/sec up. The problem may also be my service provider since I have only just had this problem within the last two months.

I updated tot the latest revision and my PSN browsing has improved although I still have to exit on the odd occasion but it is less frequent now.

Note: Having many people on the network running movie...

Saying that does not help and could be construed as trolling. Could you be more specific?

Note. I am not saying you are trolling since a problem of slow loading of games could be indicative of a disk becoming faulty and if this is the case you should backup and either replace the disk and recover or return your PS4 if it is still under warranty.

If you continue with you PS+ subscription you can always redownload the free games at a later date when you wish to play them. Of course, you want to have some organization skills which in turn do help you in the day to day running of your life outside of gaming.
