From the article: “The major problem for us as the developers is that there is going to be line-up of different but still same consoles with mandatory backwards compatibility,”
Just saying that makes me question his credibility or does he have another agenda in mind.
Anyone who develops for the x86_64 architecture and this is what the PS4 and PS4pro are based on knows that they can write a game that will be backward compatible with other machines of the ...

Some games whether conventional or VR are single player and guess what "You play on your own".
With the PSVR you can get games that you can play with friends who can see and take control what is being displayed on the TV while someone uses the VR headset which you can sort of liken to split screen gaming.
Of course, there is online gaming as well which includes VR and that type of gaming could be considered single ...
I live in Australia and also have a PS+ account which gives me two free games per month as well as monthly discounts on selected games and even the odd flash sale.
Granted that not all the free and discounted games are to my liking but there are enough to keep me happily gaming and most of these games range from a few hundred megabytes to around 15 GB with the average size being 6GB to 8GB which means I can quite easily have a 500GB PS4 and have over 30 games in my library ...
Dragon's Dogma was IMHO quite an innovative game but most of the missions/quests were boring.
If you have been gaming for a few years you probably have quite a number of games you have played or even shelved for a later date although this would depend on your choice of genres and if you are the type of gamer who likes to have a library of games.
For instance, games that have a single player component may have much more replayability than an online only game which is only playable as long as you can access the server.
You are quite right there is s...
Farming Simulator 17 is available for pretty much all consoles and MS Widows while GoW 4 was only available on MS Windows and XBox1 so it would be fairly obvious FS17 would sell better.
Farming Simulator 17 was a multi-platform release on Apple MAC, MS Windows, Mobiles, PS3, PS4, PSVita, XBox360, XBox1 and the 3DS. I would not be surprised it sold much more than Titanfall 2 although give the number of platforms it is available for I would have expected more sales.
Titanfall 2 is only on MS Windows, PS4 and XBox1 so comparing it against "Farming Simulator 17" IMHO is unfair.
The main reason why TF2 did badly was due to the fact ...
I suppose you have a better site? If you do please share, but until then VGChartz is still the best site for statistics on game consoles and software.
I have said it before and I will say it again. Suppliers know how many units they ship to their distributors since a minute or so on the database will give those figures. What is more difficult is getting sales to customers since the supplier needs to know this so they can predict how many more units they can make so that the...
Personally, if you are interested in a game that falls into the genres you like, it is really best to avoid the hype and wait till it is out before looking at reviews which are written by reviewers that you can trust.
Of course, finding reviewers that you can trust may be problematic.
Taking VGChartz for the weekly hardware shipments of the 15th Oct 2016 Japan had 30,022 PS4 sales to the world's 281,235 which is about 9.37%. If we want to look at the US figures we get 81,630 and Europe 120,186, but we also have to take into account that the in that month the XB1s actually sold more in the US and the UK.
So allowing say 20% error I will be taking Japan as about 9.37% of the overall PS4 market. (yes I know this is a guess but it still is reasonable) th...
You say that your kids and you will love the Switch which is fine and I don't have any issue with that statement, but consider this.
1) Do you trust your kids (obviously depends on age) to take the Switch to a friends place?
2) Are you predominately going to play games with the Switch docked?
3) What if you want to play a particular game and your kids prefer another?
4) You want to play a game and your spouse wants to watch TV.?

The Wii was standard definition only compared to the PS3 and XBox360 which could output High Definition (720p, 1080i and 1080p) as well as standard definition. Yes, I am well aware that most games for the PS3 and XBox360 were 720p but at least that still fell into the HD standard.
it is nice to get remastered games if you have not played them before, however new IP is always better.
I won't deny the Nintendo faithful will purchase first party games such as Mario, Pokemon and Zelda but IMHO what will make or break the Nintendo switch is third party support.
Oh dear, here we go again!
You should not put Skyrim on the list since it is not an exclusive game. I personally have put hundreds of hours into Skyrim (I still play it on occasion) and almost one hundred hours into Oblivion so I am not against those games.
I actually do agree with the list although I would probably like to add a few more considering the PS3 has been out over 10 years. IMHO Demon's Souls rather than Dark Souls should be on that list. This is not to say Dark Souls is bad but it is not an exclusive game and I personally did like this game over Demon's Souls.
The game "Red Dead Redemption" IMHO should not be part of the list since it is not exclusive. If we are going to look at top PS3 games whi...
I would not call the article SPAM.
I think the words "rant" and "poorly written" comes to mind.
I do agree that the article could have been written better.
If you wish to do some research why not try a search using the words "Microsoft privacy concerns" you will only get about 11,000,000 hits but what the hay we all know that Microsoft can do no wrong.
Take a look at the definition of Malware ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wi... ) and then if you have Windows 10 go into th...
A simple answer is "yes".
A more complex answer is how much is the consumer willing to pay for it?
If you really want a uber powered machine and have the money to spend how about 8K gaming? https://www.youtube.com/wat... The presenter does go into a bit of technical detail but the machine does work .
Could not agree more.
Anyone who games on a PC knows that most games target a range of hardware specifications and any developer knows this, that is if they wish to remain profitable. Targeting high-end specs only is a great wary of going out of business.
@sammarshall102
I will agree that Microsoft is a software company, however saying they are best is rather short sighted. If you care to look at what software is being developed today y...
