Fortnite is free and available for the PS4. In addition, the Smuggler's Run update for Grand Theft Auto V is also available if you want to play a Battle Royal game so unless you really need (debatable) to play PUBG then you have the option of two similar games now and more to come.

There are two Battle Royal games available now for the PS4 (Fortnite which is free and GTA5 Smugglers Run) and from what I can gather the feature will also be available in other online shooter games. Basically, the longer PUBG takes to come to the PS4 the more irrelevant it becomes.

Smoking and dust particles are a great way to pretty much kill all electronic devices since the tiny amount of tar in the smoke acts like a glue which will bind dust to a device's exhaust vents making cleaning difficult.

@SirBradders

If your PS4pro or any console for that matter has loud fans you have a problem with heat dissipation.

Check your console vents if they are blocked with dust, hair, etc then clean them. Usually dirty or partially blocked vents are a result of putting the console on the floor which is really asking for trouble.

Note: Cleaning a console or electronic device is not difficult but you do have to be careful with the fan since a po...

Backward compatibility is a console seller only at the beginning of the console cycle. After that, it becomes a value-added feature which for many people is rarely if ever used since most people purchase a new console to play new games.

All PS3s still have PS1 backward compatibility although only the original PS3s had and still do have backward compatibility with PS2 games. The only thing that Sony removed from the PS3 by an optional firmware update was the "Other OS&q...

It may but only if the PC port sells well. Although if Microsoft gets involved and throws money around anything is possible.

I don't know about that but I think it is best to wait for a few months and then take a look at sales figures. If NiOH does not sell well on PC then say goodbye to any more development. If it does well then you may even see a port to the XB1 as well although I doubt that.

That is assuming you have a PC that is running Microsoft Windows. I have a Skylake Intel Core i7 desktop and I don't run Microsoft Windows but Linux (Fedora 26) instead. While I do have a legal Windows 10 license and can run Windows 10 in a virtual machine I choose not to since I can do everything I want to under Linux.

BTW. Pick any Microsoft centric application and I can usually find a Linux equivalent or work around. Windows games are an exception but I have never b...

Rubbish! Many Japanese do have PCs and those PCs will normally run Microsoft Windows so making NiOH for the PC is good business practice and by doing this will in no way bring shame to the average Japanese gamer or even the company (Team Ninja a division of Koei Tecmo). Now porting NiOH to the XB1 may raise a few Japanese CEOs eyebrows.

Minimum PC hardware requirements for NiOH are:

OS: Windows® 10 64bit, Windows® 8.1 64bit, Windows® 7 64bit
Processor: Intel® Core™ i5 3550 or over
Memory: 6 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 780 VRAM 3GB or over AMD Radeon™ R9 280 VRAM 3GB or over
DirectX: Version 11
Network: Broadband Internet connection
Storage: 100 GB available space
Sound Card: 16 bit stereo, 48KHz WAVE file...

From the get-go NiOH was never going to be a PS4 exclusive (it was for eight months) since it was slated to be developed for the PC running a Microsoft operating system.

NiOH is not scheduled for the XB1 although depending on PC sales and possible Microsoft involvement it could be ported since "Team Ninja" is a division of Koei Tecmo which is an independent Japanese game developer.

Before NiOH was released the developers said it was going to come out for the PC running Microsoft Windows as well so PS4 users knew that NiOH was not a PS4 exclusive although it would not be coming to the XB1.

Note: The PS4 release date was the 7th February 2017 and the PC gets the game eight months later.

On the PS4 NiOH is about 37GB although I have not included all DLC.

What is interesting though is the minimum hardware recommendations for the PC which are beyond the specs of the PS4 and PS4pro.

Like it or not you will eventually have to upgrade to Windows 10 since it runs DirectX 12 which is not supported on Windows 7 and 8.1. Of course, this depends on developers writing their games for DX12 only. Some games like "Cuphead" have been written for DX9 which is supported by Windows 7, 8.1, 10.

Windows 10 is only 29.09% of the market compared to Windows 7 at 47.21% while Windows 8.1 is 5.89% 3154d ago 2 agree1 disagreeView comment

Not really since all my PCs run a Linux distribution (eg Fedora 26) and even though I do have a legitimate license for Windows 10 I choose not to run it in a virtual machine.

Personally, I have no real interest in Cuphead although if you do enjoy that type of game (ie. Action, 2D platformer, run and gun) then great

BTW. The game is made for Microsoft Windows and will use DirectX 9 which will work on Windows: 7 / 8.1 / 10.

Most PCs run Microsoft Windows and the Cuphead game is made for Windows 10 which is only 27.99% of the market https://www.netmarketshare.... so like it or not if you have a PC with any version of MS Windows other than Windows 10 you will be out of luck.

BTW. My PCs run Linux (3.37% of the market) so I won't be able to run MS Windows games natively al...

You are quite right most gamers usually stick to a few genres and can be picky even within genres they like.

The following is a breakdown of the US gaming market in 2016 https://www.statista.com/st... The game Cuphead is an "Action game" which is a 2D platformer of the "run and gun" variety. In the US (see chart) Action games are 22.5...

A quick web search will confirm that Cuphead is exclusive to the XB1 and the PC running Microsoft Windows 10. The game was developed and published by Studio MDHR which is an independent company. http://www.eurogamer.net/ar...

The game was developed using the Unity Engine and by the terms and conditions of the developers will pay a reasonable portion of their profits t...
