Backward compatibility is only a console seller at the start of the generation however it is only a value-added feature later on and this is borne out by the XB1 which did not support limited backward compatibility until two years into the generation. There is a huge difference between microtransactions which are a kind of optional "fluff" compared to "loot-crates" which is a form of gambling. It is even more confusing when DLC (Digital Downloadable Content) is equated to microtransactions.
