I don't mind DLC if they are done right such as The Witcher 3, Bloodborne, Horizon Zero Dawn etc since they can add many additional hours to a game. Where it becomes problematic is microtransactions which monetize addition items such as clothing, skins, etc which IMHO should have been it the game (especially a AAA one) in the first place. At least with microtransactions, they are optional and not "pay to win" (ie. better weapons, protection, buffs, .. etc).
I ...
Like it or not the so-called loot boxes are a form of gambling.
If you look at microtransactions you paid with in-game currency or you purchased that currency with real money (eg. Shark Cards, Zen ... etc) but you got the item you wanted. With loot boxes that is no longer true since there is no guarantee that you will get the item(s) you want without purchasing many loot boxes unless you are very lucky.
You will always have people that are immune to any ...
Even though I prefer the PS4 over the XB1 what you said is just wrong.
There are 661 games for the GameCube https://en.wikipedia.org/wi... while there are 1334 games (so far) for the XB1 https://en.wikipedia.org/wi...
Yes, I do know that I am only showing the number of games available ...
Actually, the information you have provided is well known in the IT industry and all PC I have owned have never run Microsoft centric software since I prefer Linux (currently Fedora 26) based operating systems.
The problem is Microsoft dominates in the desktop arena mainly due to what is called the "Microsoft Tax" and the sheer inertia of users and business make when deciding on a PC purchase.
BTW. Except for PC gaming (there are over 5,000 Linu...
It's all well and good saying that but like it or not The Artful Escape will have to run on both the original XB1 and XB1s unless Microsoft is happy will XB1x only games being made. Of course, doing that will alienate over 30 million XB1 owners.
Lets put it this way if the game runs well on the XB1x and poorly on the original XB1 then millions of XB1 owners are not going to be impressed.
I think gameplay (you know the fun part) is more important than pushing textures and resolution although they do help make a great game better. However, a rubbish game no matter how good the textures and resolution is still rubbish.
Look at the following and tell me if you think the game is any good? https://www.youtube.com/wat...
BTW. Some people will like it but I don't thin...
Please take a look at the following 8 minutes of gameplay and tell me with a straight face that looks like fun? https://www.youtube.com/wat... IMHO it looks rather boring and the graphics (not resolution) look rather Meh!
Sure the developer could say the XB1x version will be the best compared to the PS4pro but like it or not the game will be coming to the XB1 base and slim models which are not as powerful as the base PS4. It looks like the PS3 and XBox360 could easily handle a game like this.
The game is 2D and IMHO the animation is sort of "Meh!" with a "Simon Says" music playing mechanic. https://www...
No matter what pre-installed games are available for any console or gaming machine there will always be people who want additional or different games. Basically, you can't please everyone.
@darthv72
Cuphead is developed and distributed by Studio MDHR which is a two brother team of Chad & Jared Moldenhauer.
To bring Cuhead to the XB1 the company would have to give Microsoft a cut of the sales, however, to sell the PC version they only have to give a cut of sales to the point of sale distributor who sells the game. It must be noted if Steam or GoG sells the game Microsoft gets nothing.
BTW. The game was developed using...
Just checked PSN (Australia):
You can get Fortnite Battle Royal for free (about 6.69GB). There are other versions such as Standard, Super, and Limited Edition which do cost but the basic Battle Royal is free. You can also pay for "V-Bucks" which is microtransaction money. Think something along the line of Shark Cards which are used in Grand Theft Auto V and Zen in Neverwinter.
Hopefully, V-Bucks are not "pay to win" although it would n...
You are wrong on that count and as I have said before scalpers are only following very simple precepts. Buy as many popular items at the recommended price so creating a shortage then sell those items at an inflated price to make a profit.
Obviously, that is not a very nice thing to do (subjective) but it is not illegal. However, the main blame should rest with the foolish buyer who just "has to have the next shiny object" and is willing to pay more than the recomm...
I do agree that Nintendo should have more stock but you also have to remember that in any manufacturing process there will always be a finite amount of items a particular manufacturer can produce within a particular unit of time.
Produce too little (Nintendo are good at doing this) and you will have short supply hence scalpers for a popular product but produce too much and you could have a market glut which could result in serious losses for the company. Like it or not that...
@MasterChief3624
As much as I dislike scalping the main blame for this practice is the people who pay the price asked by the scalpers. Basically, scalping is not illegal and nor should it be it as it is a simple case of supply and demand.
There is a saying "A fool and his money are soon parted" and I think that saying is apt in the case of scalping with the person who pays the exorbitant price being the fool.
We can even liken...
These type of games are commonly called Walking Simulators which is great for people who like those type of games although they do have a tendency to get very boring unless you need to pick up items and/or solve puzzles.
The problem (IMHO) with Walking Simulators is that they are normally short (a few hours) and once you have finished there is no great incentive to restart the game although there are a few games of this ilk that have some replayability.

In the article, I think the author meant "Stereo Jack, Internal Speaker, light bar, vibration function and motion sensor functions are not supported."
In addition, the controller is also wired although it must be said that some purists prefer wire even though there are many articles that show that there is hardly any difference in performance between wired and wireless.
BTW. There is still a lot of controversy between wired and wireless controll...
From the article: It is stated that stheadphone/microphonephone , light bar, vibration function and motion sensor functions are not supported.
Err I think the author meant "Stereo Jack, "Internal Speaker", light bar, vibration function and motion sensor functions are not supported."
There are pros and cons for wireless and wired controllers although IMHO the average player would not notice much difference although having a wire is def...
@moldybread
You can use the PSVR headset in cinema mode on any device that has an HDMI out which obviously includes the PS4, XB1, Switch and even the PC.
As for playing VR games, you do need the PS camera although depending on the game you may not need the PSMove controller since the Dual Shock 4 will also act as a VR controller as well.
Of course, Microsoft Windows supports lots off peripherals which include lots of headsets but then s...
The game Fortnite is available now and is free however there will be an extended version of the game released in 2018 which will cost.
Note: "Fortnite" is the correct spelling of the game, not Fortnight. Yes, I am well aware that "night" is the British (ie. the UK, Australia, New Zealand, India, Canada, etc) spelling of word "night" (a time between sunset and sunrise) while "nite" is the US spelling of the same word.
While I do agree with you, making a game Adult such as 18+ is not going to solve the problem. Most children will get to play games like this especially if their parents don't supervise and children are very susceptible to forms of gambling.
Gambling is a problem and fortunately, most adults are fairly resistant although some are not (about 2.9% - Google "gambling addicts"). A quick Google search using the following "children and gambling" will net o...
