Yet the 30+ million lead the PS4 has over the XB1 brand is so great that it would be nearly impossible to catch up especially since we probably have only two to three years left in this generation of consoles and I don't see Sony falling over themselves to bring out the PS5.
Like it or not 8K displays are out now although they are relatively expensive but give it two to three years and 8K will become mainstream. Yes, there is the prospect of 16K displays but technology ...

The Wii was standard definition only when the PS3 and XBox360 were able to support up to Full HD (1080p) and yes it did sell well although most third-party companies deserted it.
It does make sense to bring the Atelier series to the PS4, Vita and Switch since Nintendo and Sony are both Japanese companies and the games are reasonably popular in Japan as well as some parts of the world although they never seem to sell more than a few hundred thousand.
As for bringing to the PC rather than the XBox, the distributor does not have to pay royalties to Microsoft and it would be doubtful although debatable that the games would sell all that well on the XBox...
The XB1x does have more memory (12GB GDDR5) than the PS4 (8GB GDDR5 + 1GB DDR3) but since the push is for 4K resources which dramatically adds to each game's file size, an increase in storage from 1TB would not go astray. From what I can gather you can't upgrade the internal disk storage without voiding your warranty.
Still, you can purchase additional storage devices and since the connection is USB 3.0 you can use Solid State Disks (approx 500GB/sec plus reads) whi...
Well, 8K is out now although they aren't cheap at the moment but give it two years. 😎
Assuming the XB1x sells at say at 20% of the XB1s sales and the PS4pro sells at 20% of the total PS4 sales. If that is true for the PS4pro then to date the PS4 pro has sold over 2.5 million since launch (approx 14 million PS4's sold since November 2016 and September 2017). http://www.vgchartz.com/too...
Since the PS4 is still selling ...
Basically, a Muslim is a follower of the religion of Islam and should not be related to a race or ethnicity although many people do get confused by this. In Arabic, Muslim means one who submits (to God).
Check out what women in Saudi Arabia are allowed to wear and what rights they have and you will see that the character design of the Muslim women fighter in The King Of Fighters Series is basically a fantasy. 3134d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment
Why would Sony bring out its own version of Windows 10?
Currently, the operating system of the PS4 is called Orbis OS which is a modified version of FreeBSD that's based on Unix. When compiling a game or software to run under Orbis the binaries are not compatible with Microsofts Windows 10 and vice versa. https://en.wikipedia.org/wi...
It must be noted that FreeB...
Ah, first world problems for those with money to burn. 😎
I suppose you could consider a $999.99 USD diamond encrusted item discounted to half price and pay $499.99 USD for the XB1x although the key words are "Helzberg Diamonds has teamed up with Microsoft to give away 100 Xbox One X units in a sweepstakes and give an Xbox One S to every customer who spends $999.99 or more in store or online."
Feeling lucky?
I think you are better off waiting for a sale which PSN (the same would be true for XBox Live) seems to have fairly often. Still, you do save some money but in the scheme of things, it is not that much.
Personally, I am quite happy with PS+ membership which gives you three to four PS4 games per month (more if you have a PS3 or Vita). Sure you may not like some of the PS+ offerings but over a period of a year, there is a wide selection although you cannot please everyone.
@t3gamenews
How is this genius since you as the consumer are still paying for the full game whether you download the multiplayer or not? Yes, I am aware that some people may have data caps or no internet connection.
There is no saving in costs for the developers since they still have had to develop the whole game which does include both single and multiplayer components as well as patches for both.
If anything the consumer is up for add...
Err console exclusives and third-party games that you could not be bothered installing on your PC.
Yes, Microsoft operating systems dominate over 90% of the desktop market followed up with Apple (3.34%) and Linux (2.98%) https://www.netmarketshare.... but even a single percent is still many millions of users who all use a computer for a wide variety of ...
A UHD drive is fine if you use it to play BD or UHD movies but what is important here is the fact that most people buy a gaming machine to play games, not movies. You also have to consider the cost of a UHD movie compared to a BD movie is anything from 20% to 40% dearer (DVD is even cheaper).
Yes you do get better visuals with UHD compared to BD which is night and day compared to DVD and (Chough!) VHS or Betamax but most people don't care and for the price of a BD movi...
I will stick to consoles since looking at PC's just muddies the waters.
All consoles up to the Wii were standard definition (SD) although this actually means different things depending which country you live in. From the PS3, XBox360 and eventually the WiiU graphics was from SD to high definition (HD) which was 720p, 1080i and 1080p. We also have UHD or 4K resolutions (2160p) which is now supported by the PS4pro and soon to the XB1x (7th Nov 2017).
Th...
Err yes and no.
I will quote from a search I did. " Conventional (pre-BD-XL) Blu-ray Disc discs contain 25 GB per layer, with dual layer discs (50 GB) being the industry standard for feature-length video discs. Triple-layer discs (100 GB) and quadruple layers (128 GB) are available for BD-XL re-writer drives."
Now it would make sense to use the triple or quadruple layer Bluray disks for games that require a lot of resources, however, the Bluray ...
If the PS5 uses x86_64 architecture as well as the same operating system (ie. OrbisOS which is a modified FreeBSD) as the PS4 it is quite likely it will be backward compatible with the PS4 software.
You could expect the main differences between the PS5 and PS4 to be the motherboard, processor, and memory/GPU. Obviously, the case will be cosmetically different.
It will be interesting to see if the PS5 will supports 8K TV's although HD and 4K are a giv...
The article is a good read.
The PS4 release of DS2 Scholar of the First Sin with 1080p 60fps was a breath of fresh air for this franchise. Don't get me wrong Demon's Souls and Dark Souls are excellent games but they were 720p and were not 60fps. Yes, graphics are nice but when you play action games 60fps or better make the game much more enjoyable.
An interesting feature of DS2 Scholar of the First Sin is the capability of clearing an area which a...
Also if the game has Horizon Zero Dawn's protagonist Aloy in it then I very much doubt any platform except the PS4 would get this beta. When the game finally releases multiplatform it is quite likely that only the PS4 players will have the option of playing as Aloy.
Cough! XBox360, Cough! 😉
You really do have to ask yourself why you would need a 4K Bluray player since it has nothing to do with games. Sure you can play 4K Bluray movies which are anything from 20% to 40% more expensive than HD Bluray disks but if you have a 4K TV chances are you also have a decent internet connection and plan although that can be debatable so streaming may be much more cost-effective.
If you are a videophile then obviously you would prefer the best video format for watching movi...
