Well you can save the game pretty much anywhere in the game however if you die you either have to re-spawn back in the Nexus, Bonfire or Hunter's Dream.
Oh the horror of not being able to "hard" save just before a boss and the annoyance of having to spend another 10 to 30 minutes fighting your way back to where you last died. I don't know if many of these wingers remember the NES or SNES days when you loose all your lives in some games then it's back to ...
I don't have a PS4 yet, however when I do get a PS4 within the next three months Bloodborne and Dark Souls 2 are two games I definitely am getting.
Personally I have always liked games by From Software such as the Kings Field series and the Souls series. I actually played Demon's Souls yesterday for a bit of nostalgia and started to get hooked on it again and after 6 hours (four demons) I finally got killed but only after I made a stupid mistake.
Yes ...
A digital future? Great if you have a fast internet, no cap or bandwidth limits and don't mind paying for the service. I do agree that a larger disk drive will be essential.
Me, I will continue to purchase media since I can install and also recover faster than the what the internet can provide.
Will digital downloads be cheaper? In the short term yes but not by that much, however over the long term no.
The box may be sitting under the HDTV but what about the power brick? Everyone appears to be forgetting about the power brick.
When you compare sizes you have to take everything into account. Before anyone replies that the brick does not matter since it is hidden, well it actually does matter since you have to allow for cooling it as well.
Basically handhelds are popular for potability so gamers who are away from their home will use a handheld whether it is a gaming handheld such as a 3DS or a Vita or even a smartphone such as an Android or iPhone. Both handheld gaming markets are huge.
Now comes an interesting question, do gamers prefer playing a handheld at home or do they prefer playing on a console to a HDTV? Personally I think a console or even a PC is preferred when the gamer is at home although the choic...
You are correct the Souls series and now Bloodborne are popular with hard core and gamers who like Action/Adventure RPG's. Basically if you don't like A/A RPG's especially those that have a hack & slash component then these games are not for you.
This is not to say that a gamer that is new to the genres won't like a game like Bloodborne (you have to start somewhere) it is just that games like this are hard and the developer From Software makes no apology f...
Why? I have the PS3 version of Skyrim and Oblivion and both work very well. There are some issues with Skyrim with the main issue when the save exceeds 6MB, however the simple fix for this is to just turn off the auto save features and manually save.
Auto saving IMHO is really hand holding. Having to manually save is not hard and you learn very quickly when you loose an hour or two just because you forgot to save.
In what way was the Elder Scrolls series hurt...
If there is an emulator made for the PS4 you are going to need a powerful machine just to run it although the best way would be to make a PS4 virtual machine which could be a good money spinner for Sony since the gamer will need the virtual machine software and the game either by digital download or on Bluray.
Of course if this happens I don't think it will be long before a flourishing piracy market pops up.
It would be rather silly to use the suspend and resume feature for a MMO unless you have a very understanding party.
The Souls series and possibly Bloodborne does not allow pausing but you can save and resume anywhere even at the point of dying so it may be possible that the PS4 suspend and resume feature may not work for Dark Souls 2 and Bloodborne.
You can get the NES, SNES, N64 as well as Gameboy roms and play them by emulator however this is illegal so unless you have a peg-leg and a green parrot on your shoulder don't do it ;-)
I personally have no interest in Mario Kart, Smash Bros and only a little interest in Bayonetta 2 even if they were on the PS4 (Is it snowing in Hell yet?) or I owned a Wii U. Were those games system sellers? Yes you are right they are.
Will Bloodborne be a system seller? I think an Action/Adventure RPG bundle which has Bloodborne would entice me into purchasing a PS4, however I personally don't think a bundle like that would be a system seller for allot of people. Games...
Personally I am hoping for a action/Adventure RPG bundle with Bloodborne as the main one. Dark Souls 2, The Witcher and possible Dragon Age - Inquisition as the other members of the bundle.
I'm giving it till the end of July then I will be getting a PS4 but if I can get a bundle like I just mentioned I will get the PS4 sooner.
Basically Bloodborne falls into the Action/Adventure RPG category with a "Hack & Slash" sub category. As most readers are aware there quite a few game categories or genres and most game players like at least one, two or possibly three categories, however this is not that simple since there are sub categories as well.
As an example you may have a gamer who likes Action/Adventure such as say Uncharted which you could say has a "shooter" sub category. Thi...
Basically you have fallen into the trap of having all your auto saves turned on. Auto saving in this game is very convenient when you are starting the game however as the saves get larger the times to save also gets longer.
Skyrim on the PS3 becomes very annoying when your saves exceed 6MB in size and when this happens you should turn off all auto saves although it may be worth while auto saving every 30 minutes to an hour keeping in mind that if you don't save manually a...
The reviewer talks about 400,000 deaths on a frequent basis which to me is kind of silly. Sure in games by From Software you do die allot but after a while you learn or just give up. As an example a player with a reasonable amount of skill will most likely die 40 to 300 times over the course of the game although PvP can usually increase the death-rate although not really that much.
To me the reviewer appear to go out of his way to nit-pick at things most people would not cons...
I am hoping for a bundle containing Bloodborne, dark Souls 2, Witcher 3 and/or Dragon Age - Inquisition and I will buy a PS4 in a flash. A bundle like I just mentioned would keep me happily gaming till next year and then Uncharted 4 comes out.
Actually a long (approx 10 to 40 seconds) after dying is not that bad considering the punishing but fair nature of games by From Software. Basically this gives you the time to reflect on what you did wrong, relax a bit and formulate a new strategy since you won't be starting off where you died.
Of course the best way to avoid so called long loading after dying is "Don't Die!" although this is easier said than done.
If you find you like Bloodborne then you may want to pick up Dark Souls 2 when it comes out although this game is supposed to be easier then the original Dark Souls. I can't advise since I have not played Dark Souls 2 although I have played Demon's Souls and Dark Souls and thoroughly enjoyed them both.
Personally I don't have a PS4 yet but will get one if there is an RPG bundle that has Bloodborne and possibly Dark Souls 2 and/or Dragon Age - Inquisition and/or Wi...
Personally I would recommend waiting to see if a decent package deal that has the genres you like. As an example: 1) sport package deal, 2) RPG (including Bloodborne) package deal, Shooter package deal, Family package deal, ... Anyway you get the picture.
The problem is, how long do you wait and what package deals will entice you to buy a PS4? IMHO set a deadline and steel yourself to wait.
Of course if you can't wait then get a PS4 with an acceptable pac...
There is no need for on-line only since if you go on-line the software on the server can/should check for basic cheating.
Providing the players stats match their level and the those stats fall within the minimum and maximum ranges. As an example if the players HP is say 100,000 or more (take a look at the highest sinners in Dark Souls if you don't believe me) then they are very obviously cheating.
Of course this won't stop a cheater from playing an of...
