Well I suppose that is ok for you, but have you taken into account the following scenario. You wish to remove a game to make room for other games then changed your mind which requires you to reinstall. I hope you have a fast internet connection coupled with unlimited downloads.

No network at the moment is going to beat installation via Blu-ray disk although the PS4 does allow you to play fairly quickly. With digital only you cannot resell your old games like you can do with a...

I have always found Naughty Dog games to have quite an incredible amount of detail and Uncharted is no exception.

As an example take a look at the old Sega Genesis/Megadrive game (originally was to be a PC game) called "Rings of Power". While this game was very "clunky" (I am being nice here) to play since it was much better (sort off) if you selected auto move the level of detail in some of the buildings was impressive for a 16 bit game. Since then Naught...

I have always said that good graphics can enhance a good game, however if you have a bad game then no amount of good graphics can save it.

That said both games look to be shaping up well although I do think that Uncharted's graphics have the edge. Still what do you expect from a first party (ie. Naughty Dog) game developer.

If you like Action/Adventure and have a PS4 then Uncharted is going to be a must have game. Likewise if you have an XB1 then Rise of ...

If you like FPS games then I suppose Halo is ok, but Uncharted is an third person Action/Adventure shooter with puzzle features so there is the difference.

If you want to compare Halo please compare against other FPS games although my take on FPS's is "If it moves you kill it, if it doesn't move you kill it anyway" -- Ducks for cover behind a chest high wall and takes out a BFG.

Yes that's what I thought too. I don't remember any part of the Uncharted games where the characters "level up" unless you count a cut scene which are fairly rare or a new weapon.

Personally I have not seriously played Tomb Raider since 3 and I definitely agree with you here the later iterations of Tomb Raider are just not Tomb Raiderish. Still the later games do sell because people like them or the gamer is given these games in the lead up to Christmas by family and friends possibly due to hype.

If you like both genres and have the money then get both, however both require quite a considerable amount of time to finish, so the choice is which to play first or how do you divide your time between them.

Gamer's like different categories or genres if you will and that is all they will buy. Sure there is overlap such as a person liking FPS and Racing or someone liking RPG's and Action/Adventure as examples.

Even withing a main gaming category there are sub categories which will appeal to some and not others. I would even go as far as stating that there would be few games who like all gaming categories and if there are how do they find the time to play these games. <...

The problem and advantage of RPG's is they take a long time to play if you could call that a problem and even after you finish you probably need wait a year or so to play it again and still enjoy it.

If you are very much into on-line games and especially on-line only then you are dependent on the servers because once they are taken down you effectively have a coaster. The exceptions IMHO are the Souls series which while the on-line component is great if the servers were s...

I would say that the current PS3 games I have are are really good however I do have PS2 games that I also love to play. Unfortunately PS1 games which every PS3 can play don't look all that good on a large screen HDTV although the game-play has not changed.

I still have my SNES and Megadrive and a few games but it is easier to play the ROM under emulation on my PC.

As for saying old or retro games are better than current games I would have to disagree alth...

If you have a PS3 you can still play PS1 games. Of course if you have the original backwards compatible PS3 then you can play PS2 games.

A PS2 game played on a BC PS3 displays quite well on a HDTV, sort of like playing an up-scaled and smoothed DVD. Unfortunately PS1 games tend to look a bit grainy so they would most likely be best displayed on a smaller screen.

As for NES, SNES, Sega Master System and Megadrive you can get emulators for your PC. The only pro...

Why bother when you will most likely be able to get decals and/or skin kit for say $10 to $30 which will go on any PS4 or even the PS3 for that matter. A nice feature of skinning and decals is the ability to remove them when the mood takes you.

I take it you know that the graphics libraries associated with the PS4 and XB1 are different. That said Square/Enix is a business and they will have to make a decision to port a game that was developed for the PS4 to one that will run on the XB1.

Sounds simple, well it isn't and if the Square/Enix company is going to port their game to a Microsoft console (ie. XB1) or even the PC for that matter, then they will have to make a business decision based on projected sales. If...

I do have the PS2 version of FFXII and it displays quite well via my backwards comparable PS3, so I would not really be interested in purchasing a remake. The same goes for FFX and FFX-2 although they are available for the PS3 and PS4.

One feature of FFXII that none of the other FF games had was they actually removed the battle arena for pretty much all encounters. Basically you fought were you encountered the enemy.

Like with allot of FF games FFXII had acti...

If you look at FF4, FF5 and FF6 all had turn-base and active turn-base and switching between the two was fairly quick. FF7 was turn-based only.

One really good feature of active turn-base is the ability to basically "coast" through lots and lots of random enemy encounters rather than micro manage all the action which IMHO can get rather tedious.

As for action RPG's, many JRPG's are action or active turn-based so I am quite sure the Japanese...

Hand-helds and smart phones are great when you are on the move, however when you are home many gamer's prefer consoles or PC's since you can display on a much larger screen, be it HDTV or monitor.

@xHeavYx

Why get a themed PS4? All you need is either a themed sticker or a themed skin which if you already have a plain PS4 is fairly cheap, easy put on and if you like easy to remove if/when your mood changes.

Do a quick search for PS4 th...

Basically the article says nothing, well at least nothing an IT Engineer can fathom. Both the XB1 and the PS4 have 8 cores so what's this pseudo magical seventh core in the XB1?

I can understand locking out a CPU for specific purposes such as Kinect but really why do even that when you can assign priority and even CPU access to processes.

Professional Operating Systems have had scheduling, priorities and CPU control since the 1960's and since MS Windo...

That yellow light of death was the thermal overload protection being triggered which actually protects your electronic components from destruction.

The quick fix for the YLOD was to vacuum your inlet and outlet ports but if that does not solve the problem then you need to change the thermal paste.

There is plenty of info on-line which will show you how to change the thermal paste (a good quality tube is only a few dollars) on just about all computing devices...

If your thermal paste is melting I suggest that you should not live in a blast furnace ;-)

Basically if your console or PC is overheating which is usually evident when the fan is running full speed nearly all the time, then it is time to change the thermal paste which over time will harden resulting in less efficient heat transfer.

There are many sites and even Youtube videos that will show you how to change your thermal paste on just about all computing devi...

If your PS3 is getting noisy due to the fan working overtime it is only going to get worse so you should seriously consider replacing your thermal past on your heat sink.

Use a good quality non-electrically conductive thermal paste which is only a few dollars and you only use a small amount (about 4 or 5 drops) of it any way.

There are plenty of Youtube and written explanations that will show you how to do this and from what I can gather it is not difficult a...
