If you look at the phone market Android is at 82.8% while Apple is at 13.9% which leave a paltry 3.3% for the rest of the players, Microsoft (2.6%) included.
I think the above is a massive failure on behalf of Microsoft, however due to litigation brought on by Microsoft some manufacturers of Android devices pay a patent royalty to Microsoft or where appropriate cross patent licensing. This case is still on-going for some manufacturers.
Compromising any computing system either by DDoS or Cracking is actually a criminal offence. Hacking on the other hand is not a criminal offence otherwise you would have to arrest anyone who writes or modifies computer code. Just think no more hackers is the same as saying no more computer games or applications.
Any criminal offence depending on it's severity can result in prison time, being fined or doing community service.
Spare a thought for the idiots...
Unfortunately it will only make the people who are caught "cracking" or using a DDoS think twice. Normally a person who is caught usually thinks of how they can avoid not being caught again, not that they should never do it again.
I very much doubt these people are kids although some may be in their teens.
To take down a site especially multiple sites via a distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) requires a means of compromising many machines, which is normally done via malicious software so you effectively have what is called a botnet.
I do think gone are days of the so called "script kiddy" working alone although there may be a rare few. Most botnets are made by criminally min...
@Jalva
Personally there is nothing wrong with a remaster since you definitely get much better visuals than the original game although the gameplay normally remains the same.
I don't have any issues with some DLC especially when it adds to the game such as additional quests, story and maps. Of course bringing out a game that designed to entice players into purchasing DLC is rather shallow or lets call it a money grab.
What I do have an iss...
On a large screen TV PS1 games appear to be grainy although how grainy depends on the game and if you are playing that game via a PS3 or even on a PC under emulation.
For PS2 games up-scaling and smoothing is like doing the same thing to a DVD. Yes you can pick the difference between an up-scaled DVD and a Bluray movie and likewise between a PS2 game verses a PS3 game, however many people would find the difference acceptable.
As for trophies for the PS2 well ...
If you like Froza, Gears and Halo then fine but some gamers are not that interested in those genres and prefer other types such as Action/Adventure and RPG's just to name two which I prefer.
The only game that has interested me is "Scaleboun", however one RPG is not going to encourage me to buy an XB1.
Actually many of the RPG's that I like are third party and are on both machines, however I do lean towards the PS4 since I also like the Souls series (DS1, 2 and 3 (2016) are also third party) and I want to play Bloodborne which is a PS4 exclusive.
Total Sales to date (VGChartz):
RotTR - 501,890 (3 weeks)
Rare Replay - 397,606 (3 weeks)
Fallout 4 (XB1) - 2,169,880 (3 weeks)
Fallout 4 (PS4) - 3,726,232 (3 weeks)
Star Wars: Battlefront (2015) (XB1) - 1,522,344 (2 weeks)
Star Wars: Battlefront (2015) (PS4) - 3,745,462 (2 weeks)

Even if there is a 20% variation (ie. error bar) the sales numbers speak for themselves.

You are quite right, whenever I hear about games on the XBox they are either Forza, Gears or Halo which are games I have no interest in and hardly ever about other types of games or if I do they are just a passing remark.
Actually you should do this will all computer devices when you notice that things are getting hot. Consistent high speed fan noise is a good indication that your heat sink thermal compound is breaking down.
It does help if you have some technical knowledge although there are computers (laptops for example) that are a pain to change the thermal compound.
For those that have reasonable technical or handyman skills there is YouTube and on-line how too's for ...
The main thing I would like is the ability for PS2 game disk owners to be able to install their games on the PS4 disk for playback via the emulator. I can understand a PS+ subscription for this but IMHO it should be free keeping in mind what Microsoft is doing for XBox360 emulation on the XB1.
If PS2 game disks were supported I can also understand why there may be a requirement to have the disk installed at all times for playing off or just for authentication.
Well there is "lies damned lies and statistics".
It really boils down to your sample, so if you talk to say 5 million XB1 owners and also 5 million PS4 owners out of which some will have both consoles then we may get some interesting results.
A common statistical term is called "Skew" in that it is possible by carefully worded questions and limiting your locations to get results that are not a true reflection of the overall picture.
Woops you said something positive about the PS3 in an XBox related article.
I still have my original Phat PS3 although it did have a problem after 11 months which was repaired at no cost to myself. It still works after all these years and on occasion I still play the odd PS2 game although I mainly use it for PS3 gaming.
I prefer fantasy RPG's and Skyrim tops my list although the "problem?" with Skyrim is that ther is so much to do that it is very easy to get side-tracked.
I actually made a mistake with installing Dawnguard, Dragonborn and Hearthfire before playing the game for the first time. Since I had the PS3 version I started to find annoying bugs around 50 hours in.
I restated with just Dragonborn and I am now over 160 hours and have hardly touched the ma...
@Mithan
>> Both consoles don't have the power
To do what exactly?
If you said number crunching I would definitely agree with you but then again most PC users would not know what number crunching was unless it bit them.
Games like FPS's do benefit from faster frame rates even if the visual quality is reduced, however games with high quality visuals are normally fine with slower frame rates. I definitely agree that frame rate dipping is a real annoyance no matter what the top frame rate is.
Of course the faster the frame rate and the higher quality the better but you also have to take into account the standard display device that the average person is using.
AMD's processors are conceptionally similar to Intel's however they are also cheaper although not quite as powerful.
Using the Intel 'i" series as an example most modern processors vary from 2 core to 8 core with each core normally supporting two threads. The "i7" is interesting in that it has 4 or 6 or 8 cores and of course the price goes up dramatically.
The concept of the more GHz the better was dropped over a decade ago. What is...
@MonkeyOne
Actually it is allot more complex than that since you have to take into account the integration of the the hardware and that includes CPU, GPU, Memory and Mother Board.
Without getting into a rambling technical discussion lets compare two similar processors the Intel i7-6700 (3.4GHz 8MB) and the i7-6700k (4.0GHz 8MB).
Obviously the "k" series would appear the better but more expensive processor since it can be over cloc...
Sony would have to re-engineer the PS4 if they wanted to allow for internal 3.5" drives and somehow I cannot see than happening.
@ShadowKnight
Hybrid drives can be quite good under certain circumstances however you have to remember the "flash" part of the hybrid drive is fairly small and sometimes the game does not make much use off it.
It usually works out cheaper to get a 7200 rom HDD compared to a standard 5400 rpm (normall...
