Yes and no. It really depends on what the CPU is being used for.
Without repeating what I wrote previously, hardware performance is dependent on the integration of CPU, Memory and input/output (I/O) which includes storage (disks), peripheral such as a controller and of course graphics. Included in all that are the interconnects between all of them which normally is the motherboard.
In the case of a console the hardware is normally fixed for the life of the c...
The 8 Core 5960X (3GHz turbo to 3.5GHz, 20MB smart cache and 16 threads) compared to my Skylake i7-6700 (3.4GHz turbo to 4Hz, 8MB smart cache and 8 threads) is over three times the price of my processor and requires an additional heat sink, normally water cooled.
Even though your processor is slower than mine it would perform so much better since it has an extra 16MB of cache and 8 additional threads. Even if I had purchased the Skylake i7-6700k (can over-clock) your process...
Console release cycles are a sort of balancing act. Bring out too soon and you will definitely piss off the people who purchased your last console. Bring out late and other manufactures will steal a march on you.
One of the major issues in gaming has been the graphics output. In earlier consoles they were designed for Standard Definition TV's while the later generation consoles such as the PS3, WiiU and XBox360 can display up to 1080p.
Basically the PS4, ...
Please define weak with respect to a PC.
Compared to top of the line gaming rigs yes they are weak but to the average PC sold today they are quite powerful.
The current generation of consoles were designed for output to the most common display device which is HDTV at 1080p not the latest 4K or now 8K TV/monitor although UHDTV's will up-scale a 1080p signal.
Actually even if you build an incredibly powerful gaming rig today there will alwa...
Sorry my crystal ball had too many cracks in it so I sent it into the the shop for repair. Now the shop is complaining about those portals that keeps appearing and that strange man with glasses that keeps falling though them.
At least they did close the Bloodborne portal, having your arms ripped off is definitely not funny :-)
If he said that for the XBox360 verses the PS3 I would agree but you are dead right the PS4 launched one week earlier then the XB1.
@Stogz
I won't dispute those figures and to me they seem quite reasonable for a AAA game to sell to around 10% of the user base. So taking a trend like that it would not be that unreasonable to state that Halo 5 would sell (assuming 19 million XB1's sold) about 1.9 million with a 20% (questionable?) margin for error you could have 1.52 to 2.28 million copies sold with the trends pointing to slightly higher figures.
Obviously the best way to tell overa...
VGCharts may not be dead accurate although they don't actually show error margins which are a normal part of statistical analysis particularly with small samples.
The only way to give an accurate figure in sales is for the producer to give this information out and I am not holding my breath for that.
If there are any other sites that give out more more accurate information then please let us know. At least VGCharts does tell us how they arrive at their re...
Do you have the source for that claim of 4~6 million for digital downloads?
I am well aware that getting an exact figure for digital downloads is straight forward if Microsoft will publish the figures however from what I can gather they haven't. Getting exact figures is a simple database search that would take seconds.
Still I can't see digital downloads for the PS3, PS4, Xbox360 or XB1 being more than equal or greater than media sales. Could be wron...
@ShadowKnight
There is no temperature display just a fan speed indicator which is nice but a temperature display would be so much more practical.
Anyway the best way to monitor performance is to display it on your monitor(s) not on your case.
For those who like a case that looks more like a discotheque then this is for them but for those that want something that will do the job a more blander case is ideal since what is inside is far more imp...
A digital display on a case can look pretty but not really practical and it can get annoying.
Note: Fan speed is not an accurate indication of CPU temperature. You are best getting all this information from the appropriate applications on your operating system.
Looks like a discotheque on steroids which is fine for those people who like that sort of thing although IMHO it would get rather annoying.
A digital fan speed indicator, sound nice but really lets be practical, fan speed is not a true indicator of CPU temperature.
I can see that this machine has water cooling so I would assume that you can over-clock which is great for those that really need this although in reality most people would never need this.

You do know that you can order the game after it comes out rather than pre-order and wait. So you might wait two to three days more from the date of release.
Personally I never pre-order although to be fair I usually wait a month or so and read and watch reviews (no spoilers) prior to me purchasing a game.
Dark Souls 3 is not out yet although it slated for March 24, 2016 (Japan) and April 12, 2016 (rest of world). You do have over a two month wait.
Personally I do like the Souls series however there is no way I would pay $90 (I assume you mean US dollars) on a pre-order unless I was into collector's editions, which I am not.
I do normally wait for a price drop since I don't mind the wait, however I always prefer the media then go the digital download ro...
Personally I never pre-order and I do find that it is better to wait for a month or two so that any potential issues have been patched.
One thing I do like about buying games on media is that with the PS4 the game is ready to play within a few minutes although it may take longer to install. Even adding a patch can be done in the background although I usually only prefer to play after the latest patch is installed.
Still 15GB for The Witcher 3 patch is a bit ...
I think he meant "Struck Back" (past tense) which is appropriate with the 2015 reference.
He could also use "Strikes Back" (current tense) which is probably the more popular saying as in the Star Wars movie.
As for "Stroke Back" WTF is that some saying from a porn show?
Examples (please don't take them literately):
The XB1 stuck back in 2015 against the PS4 but failed to win superiority.
I do like Action/Adventure games, however I also like RPG's and since RPG's can easily take over 30 plus hours of game-play (some 100 plus hours) so I don't really think missing out on one game is that big of a deal.
Actually Scalebound is the only game that for me is interesting however I did not like the voice acting from the demo I saw. Maybe I am spoilt by the voice acting in The Witcher 3.
The PS4 is making ridiculous sales (on par or better then the Wii), however third party game developers are also supporting it which was not the case with the Wii.
I play The Witcher 3 on my 24" IPS monitor and the colours are really vivid and the details are crisp. I actually have to sit back about 1.5m to 2m.
Moving my PS4 to my 55" HDTV (200Hz) which takes about a minute, TW3 is also detailed and the colours really do stand out except when you are in a cave or ancient ruin where you need either a flaming torch or use the CAT potion (the brightness when you emerge into daylight and the CAT potion is still active -- my eyes!)...
Both the PS4 and XB1 are designed to output up to 1080p and 60fps which is the standard for pretty much all HDTV's. Even the PS3, XBox360 and the WiiU can support this.
It is up to the game developer to trade off graphical effects and resolution to frames per second. Some games look and play better (ie. FPS's and Racing) with a high frame rate with a trade-off being a lower resolution and/or detail. Other games such as RPG's and Action/Adventure aim more for 30fps...
