Not that many console games actually require patching and even if the game has patches the game is normally playable without them.

From personal experience (mainly PS3) I have found the few games I actually patched had better stability and even some extra features although it was still optional to actually add the patch.

Sorry but a desktop PC can draw much less than a console under the right conditions. For instance I do have a very powerful machine (see my previous posts in this thread) and when running a SNES emulator I actually draw about 70W which also includes the 20W of my monitor.

Note: I am only using the inbuilt graphics card of my motherboard (GX-Z170M-D3H) which does the job I want it to do. Add a decent?? graphics card and my machine would be a high end gaming rig although there ...

Just because you have a 750 Watt power supply does not means you are drawing that much continually.

My PC has a 500 Watt PSU and when idle or just web surfing the PC draws just 40W and I have 4 Core i7-6700 (Skylake) which is the latest release from Intel. My LG 24" IPS monitor draws just 20W.

I have to mention that I actually use the GPU on my motherboard (GX-Z170M-D3H) which is nothing great but it does what I want.

A more powerful gra...

@Srelhow

The keyword was "Skylake" which are the newest processors from Intel. Mine is the 4 Core i7-6700 3.4GHz 8MB with a Gigabyte Z170M-D3H motherboard and 16GB of Kingston HyperX FURY 2133 DDR4.

I am well aware I could have gone for over-clocking such as the 4 Core i7-6700k (you need to buy a separate heat sink), an even better motherboard plus faster RAM, but my configuration works really well for what I use it for.

Look at the...

Of course Microsoft is trying to unite the Microsoft Desktop with the XB1 since they own both.

Sony can only cater for products they own and they are Vista and the PS3 of which these products are dependent on other developers as well. You wouldn't seriously expect Sony to start supporting the Microsoft Desktop and the Mac and Linux Desktop market share is far too small. Android (Linux) is huge though.

For me the XB1 and Microsoft...

Well put it this way, how much did you pay for your HDTV or UHDTV? Also can you tell me how many TV's make it look like the action is to the front , side and up relative to yourself. Maybe that will put things in perspective.

VR is one product you really have to try and not just a few minutes before you make a decision.

Before you do anything check your inlet and outlet vents for dust build up.

Obviously switch off power to the PS4 and disconnect your power cable from your wall outlet. Many want to be electricians do die when forgetting this very basic thing.

If you have dust build up a small paint brush can remove it although it would be a good idea to use a vacuum cleaner (pretty much any type will do) on the outlet vent.

Before putting your PS4 back as...

I am adopting a wait and see attitude with a definitely must try before I buy and I do mean allot more than a few minutes.

VR is one tech that you really do need to have an extended try since it may be possible that you have issues such as but not limited to motion sickness. Also to be safe each member of your family or friends who might use your headset should also try as well.

Keep in mind that if you invite a friend to use your VR headset the onus is on yo...

Depends on your PC. I have an Skylake i7 but I only use the on-board graphics card of my motherboard since I don't really play PC games. Most of the time my PC plus monitor draws less then 60W although if I do some serious number crunching I can draw around 100W.

If every penny counts then why are you even playing electronic games?

There is nothing wrong with honorifics although many western players don't understand them.

When playing a Japanese game (applies also to Anime and Manga) it is usually a good idea to have an understanding of honorifics since that gives the player a better idea of how each character relates to other characters.

The following URL is worth reading (won't take long to read) if you like Japanese games that even though dubbed into English still use honorif...

Best getting the game you want to play first then when you finish get the second at a later date and by that time (unless you are a speed player) the next game will have dropped in price or you can get it second hand.

FF12 was the only single player FF game that let you move your party around the battle field, however I do understand that many people did not like the battle system since it basically required you to use boolean algebra to program your characters although you could manually control them by using turn based controls.

That is very subjective. I personally liked FF12 more than I liked all the other FF games however I still enjoyed them all. I also liked Nier which is an action JRPG.

It is unfortunate that most Person games came out when I was already play an RPG and as you are well aware RPG's normally take many hours to play and that is if you really want to finish then because (again subjective) you really enjoy them.

3800d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Actually that is a practical thing to do. I rarely buy a game day one mainly because I will already be playing a game that I don't want to put aside just to play a new game.

Even if I have just finished an RPG or at least put it aside I would not get FF15 and Persona 5 together since it is awkward to allocate one to two hours each for both RPG's per playing day.

Personally I am more interested in "Nier: Automata" but I will take a look at them all and judge them on their own merit from my point of view.

Sounds arrogant, but each gamer is different and has their own personal likes and dislikes.

As an example, I have played all single player FF games from 4 onwards (exceptions 9 and 13-3) and while I do prefer FF12 mainly because you can move your characters on the battle field and no random encounters but I...

Pretty well biased towards the XB1.

JRPG's - yes
External HDD - Don't care, I know how to manage disk space.
Most of the others I can answer "I don't care". The exceptions are:

1) Controller - this is subjective.

2) As for VR, I will adopt the wait and see attitude.

3) Cloud computing - Sigh!

4) The ability to play older titles at a higher resolution and smoothed - I do h...

I still have my PS2 version of Dark Cloud and it plays fine on my BC PS3. Not sure about rogue galaxy and mark of the kri but according to the Wiki they were PS2 games, the exception being "mark of the kri" which is supposed to be on the PS4 (probably a remaster)as well.

3800d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

I still have a backwards compatible PS3 and can repair or get it repaired if it breaks. Even if my BC PS3 is stolen I can still use PC emulation.

I would not have any issues paying if I wanted to play a particular PS2 game I did not own or I wanted to play a PS2 game with trophies even I did own the particular game.

I would not pay to play a PS2 game I already own, I would just use what I have already have access too.
