Atelier Sophie is an exception in that you are not on a time limit (exception some monster/item quests) although you do have to manage your resources. An interesting feature is a fact that you can import music and assign each song to a particular general even. Assign multiple tunes to a particular event (eg, workshop/atelier, town, stores, field, battles, ... etc) and each even will select a particular tune randomly. Sounds trivial but it really does get annoying listening to the same tune o...

Actually "A Plague Tale" is on my to-do list but currently, I am playing Horizon Zero Dawn on the hardest difficulty. Yes, you can fight humans and weak robots using your spear (still risky though) but it is so much more satisfying setting traps and/or choosing the appropriate bow and ammunition (shadow weapons are the best but at the highest difficulty they are very expensive).

BTW. Setting up for double and triple arrow shots does help but on the hardest difficu...

IMHO the only way to play Styx is on the hardest setting. Sure you almost get "one-hit killed" if you are discovered especially if there are two or more protagonists, so you are basically forced to use your sneak and assassination skills. In the rare instances, you have to fight it is usually one on one combat which if you have been paying attention in the first 20 minutes of the game is not that difficult.

What is the timeout setting on your DS4 controller?

If dropouts are really random then it may be time to return your DR4 if still under warranty or purchase a new one although I suggest some faultfinding first. Please go into your "Settings" --> "Power Saving Settings" and make appropriate changes.

It is possible to set up your controller to disconnect after 10 (this is my prefered setting), 30, 60 minutes or not at all. Please go into your "Settings" --> "Power Saving Settings" and make appropriate changes.

If changing your disconnect times (you can select "no Disconnect") does not fix your problem then it may be time for a new controller although I would investigate further before taking this step (Google is your friend). A fake DS4 ...

@DigitalDaniel

You are quite right that all manufactured equipment has a certain percentage of failed units, however, like "@Knushwood Butt" I have never had this problem with my two PS4 controllers and one is over four years old.

I have done a Google search on this ("ps4 controller dropping out") and I did get over 20 million hits so there are obviously some issues, although (from the first page) most fixes just required a PS4 reboot ...

Even if you have a first-generation PSVR headset it will still be usable on the PS5 so gamers who have this headset should not feel disenfranchised. Sure when the next-gen PSVR comes out some first-gen owners may feel hard done by but this is no different to people who purchased an HD TV a few years ago to 4K TV's today that are available at a comparable price.

Note: 8K is the next big thing (admittedly expensive at the moment) and I am quite sure there will be some who...

My PC runs Linux (ie. Fedora 30, KDE spin) and a system update can be automatically set to daily, weekly, monthly or I can do the update manually (my prefered method). Sure I can make the process automatic but that is IMHO stupid. Even when downloading an update (ie. in the background) anything I am doing is not interrupted which is exactly the same when a PS4 gets an update.

Once an update has occurred I only need to reboot if I get a new kernel or my windows system (In th...

Yes, it is so difficult waiting two minutes to update the system software. 😎

Note: Downloading system software is done in the "background" and does not impact gaming. It is only the actual update that requires a reboot and you the player gets to decide when that happens.

To be fair the cable does have a signal upscaler but if you have a decent display then that display should do the upscaling, not an "active HDMI cable". If a decent HDMI (v1.4, 2.0 or 2.1) cable which you can get very cheaply as you have stated does not give good results then the problem will be your display.

The most you are going to get from the Switch is 1080p, however, if you have a decent display it should be able to upscale and smooth an HD (720p and 1080p) signal.

Are you joking?

Paying US$100 (assumed) is a massive ripoff, in fact paying more than US$15 is stupid but then again there is a sucker born every minute.

If you wish to display 1080p via an HDMI cable then all you need is HDMI 1.4 or better. Any higher such as 4K or even 8K you can purchase an HDMI 2.1 (released 28th Nov 2017) cable. In fact, an HDMI cable can be purchased (assuming you only need 3ft or in most countries 1m) for US$12.99 from Amazon

The PS4pro can display in native 4K (depends on the game) while all PS4's support HDR providing the game supports this feature and will properly display this on a decent HDR 4K TV/monitor (mine does). Of course, the PS4pro is a better performing PS4 since it has an enhanced CPU, GPU and system bus.

In addition, most HDR 4K TV's or monitors (mine does) will upscale a none 4K (eg. SD and HD) signal to 4K (8K will do the same) while keeping the aspect ratio the same al...

What is interesting is the fact that the PS5 will be backwards compatible and it is possible if PC games are any indication that PS5 games could be downgradable to the PS4 although the game would not have the same quality compared to the PS5 playback.

It should be noted that I have a generic PS4 and all PS4's support HDR which means that if a game supports HDR

From Final Fantasy IV "Active Time Battle" (ATB) has been an option on most games up to FF12 (discounting FF11 and FF14). The exceptions being FF7, FF8 and FF10 although from what I can gather FF7 remake will have an ATB.

Love it or hate it ATB in most cases has been optional although if you have ever played FF12 you would most likely be a masochist if you tried to play the game using turn-based only. To play FF12 it is best to use ATB or if you wish to be technic...

Over the course of your PS+ subscription, it is always a good idea to see if there is a reduction for a PS+ subscription over a particular weekend (usually a holiday) and top up your subscription. That way you can save money.

Definitely, but on a side note, you can't go wrong with the Souls games and Bloodborne although I don't recommend these games if you have high blood pressure and/or a low patience threshold. 😎

It's worse than that. Yes, the Switch does have 32GB of storage but about 7GB is reserved for system software leaving 25GB available for games.

Of course, because the Switch allows the player to install a microSDXC card you can easily expand the storage up to 1TB, In addition, you can also purchase games that come on microSDXC cards but those games will cost more than if those games were on a Bluray disk.

The PS4 dual shock controller has motion control as well as a touchpad a speaker and if you wish you can plug in a stereo headphone with a microphone. All PS4's come with a mono headphone plus microphone which allows for voice recognition.

Granted the voice recognition for the PS4 was not as good as what the XBox1 Kinect could but it made for a console that was US$100 cheaper. Personally, I found that I could select a game so much faster from the menu rather than use vo...

I would like if Sony had a PS+ for online access only and one for both online access and free games per month. The problem is how much would Sony charge for PS+ online access only?

Of course, at the moment, PS+ is not only for online plus free games but it also gives "acceptable" (subjective) discounts and I find that I get a better dell from PS+ because of this.
