I concur. I do think $60 USD is a bit much for a game that effectively has been out almost a year even though it has not come to the PS4 platform yet.
Personally, I agree with many of the comments here and don't mind waiting for the price to drop or even get it second hand since I have so many games to tide me over while I wait. Still, I hope Microsoft's money hating made it worth Square-Enix's decision to make the game a timed release.
Innovation is not a gimmick although a gimmick can be incorrectly considered an innovation.
I don't think anyone on this forum except raving fanboys would think that the Nintendo 3DS was anything other an extremely successful handheld in both hardware and software.
I definitely would not dispute what "AKR" has said though since he has not been playing down the success of the 3DS., basically he has put the success in perspective.
As far as gaming hardware goes the XB1 has not done that well when compared to the PS4, however, Microsoft does have almost a monopoly on the Desktop operating system and as you are probably aware are pushing Windows 10 to the point where you could consider it to be Malware.
Even if you have got Windows 10 installed on your PC you should really look at turning off some of the intrusive options (all are turned on by default) not only in your Security settings but also in th...
So you can look at a screen and what is basically and tablet the same time without breaking immersion?
I doubt it. I can understand having multiple screens in your face since it is not difficult to display maps and inventories on separate screens since they are basically in your face. Having to switch your eyes from screen to tablet is not all that great for the eyes but then again if the game is designed to allow that then fine.
Personally, I like games...
I hope you know that there are now two HDR formats competing for dominance. Yep, the format wars are back again.
The two HDR formats are HDR10 (open standard) and HDR Dolby Video (proprietary) so you are going to see major manufacturers taking sides, with some (Vizio and LG) adopting both. See the following URL for more info: http://www.cnet.com/au/news...
Making a smaller model is doable but as you have said rather pointless. If anything the new slim may be the same case but with more power efficient internals which is pretty much what the current model CUH 12xxA/B is over the original.
Slightly off topic here, however, people who are looking at getting into 4k movies and gaming better read this otherwise they may have a potential brick in their living room which can't display 4k content properly.
Currently, there are two competing formats for 4k TV's. Both are HDR -- short for high dynamic range. One is HDR10 (open standard) and the other HDR Dolby Vision (proprietory). Yes, here we go again another format war so if you do have a 4k TV you need to...
Rather than retooling for a smaller console it would be much more logical making a lower power model such as what was done for the first model (CUH10xxA) to the send model (CUH11xxA/B) and the current model (CUH12xxA/B) which consumes less power than the original.
Sure it is possible to make a smaller model but I don't think many people would be disappointed if PS4 kept the same shape as the original but with a lower power consumption (say model CUH13xxA/B).
Why do you think that the Neo is going to be in direct competition to the Scorpio since we really don't have any idea of its specifications other than rumors?
Sony has already stated that games for the Neo will play on the standard PS4 so it makes much more financial sense for the Neo to support a three layer BluRay player and HDMI 2 for people who want to play 4k movies. A small boost in performance would also be quite acceptable providing games are not brought out to ...
If the PS5 is still based on x86_64 architecture and there is no reason why it won't, then it will support backwards compatibility and to a limited extent forward compatibility depending on the game. After all, not all games made today need a powerful processor, high capacity fast memory or even a high end graphics card.
It would make financial sense for the Neo to support three layer BluRay and HDMI 2 for people who want a 4k video player and there would only be minor ...
Why are you cheering Nvidia when we don't even know the price yet.
From the specs of the GTX 1060 it has 6GB of GDDR5 compared to AMD's RX 480 which comes with 4GB GDDR5 for US$200 and 8GB GDDR5 for US$229. It is possible for the GTX 1060 to meet those prices but we don't really know yet.
I won't deny that even that there are some people who would pay well over $1000 for a powerful graphics card but the average graphics card buyer purchas...
@darthv72
Allot of people have been tricked into upgrading to Windows 10 and some have actually started to sue.
Since I have a legitimate Windows 7 license I actually installed Windows 10 from ISO file which I downloaded from Microsoft into a virtual machine on my desktop (I run Linux on this) machine. One thing I noticed immediately during the install was how intrusive the operating system is and how everything is basically turned on by default.
Umbrella Corps is PS4 and MS Windows although since the XBox is now running on Windows 10 you could probably run the game on it as well.
From all the reviews and even some of the gameplay I have seen, you are dead right it is a "turd" and I would not consider getting it unless I got dementia.
As for Star Ocean 5 that will be on the PS3 and PS4 which effectively makes it a Playstation exclusive. So far the reviews have been mixed on this game an...
Why does the Neo even have to meet the Scorpio specs? If the Neo comes out this year it will mainly have a three layer BluRay player and HDMI 2 to cater for those people who have a 4k TV and want to play three layer BluRay movies. It may be possible that the Neo can upscale games to 4k but then why bother since 4k TV's can also upscale.
You will always have people who are going to buy the latest and greatest, however, most people are usually satisfied with their current purchase until they see a compelling need to upgrade or replace. At the moment there is no compelling reason to junk a perfectly good HDTV and replace it with a 4k TV and yes I know the HDTV could be used as a spare.
The proposed Microsoft Scorpio is still almost one and half years away and when it does come out it will sell but we still do...
At the moment there are not many high-end PC's that can fully support 4k games and those that can are allot more expensive than a PS4 or XB1. Current consoles are designed to support the most common resolution and that is 720p and 1080p.
In the future, 4k TV's and monitors will be supported when there are enough of them, however, I do think that 4k will be sidelined when 8k becomes the industry standard which will probably be the case in two to five years, just in t...
To really appreciate The Witcher 3 you do need to play on "Death Mach" difficulty. All other difficulties are too easy although I would recommend "Blood and Broken Bones" for beginners, any other difficulty is IMHO just too easy and you can't really appreciate the game.
For some reason, TW3 and even games like Skyrim or Oblivion have a difficulty slider which IMHO spoils the games since you are always tempted to make the game easier, rather than go e...
Believe it or not but many of the Final Fantasy games had an active turn-base option that could be switched back to turn-base during a tough enemy encounter. You never ever "button mashed".
FF12 was a radical departure from random encounters in that you could see the enemy before they attacked you and if you felt they were too strong you could sometimes avoid them. In fact, you could pretty much go anywhere within reason although go into some areas and all it wou...
All members of the British Empire which included Australia, New Zealand, Canada, India, South Africa etc, were involved in WW1 from day one (28th July 1914). The American entry into World War I came in April 1917 when Congress declared war against Germany but it was not until 7th Dec 2017 that war was declared on the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
Actual American action in WW1 occurred in May 1918 and the war was over on 11th November 1918, so effective American official invo...
Yes "Git Gud" then "Git Bttr".
From the article. "So when a difficulty level can’t be altered it creates a sense of meaning. Take Dark Souls for example. Its challenging enemies and boss battles serve a purpose that multiple difficulty levels would destroy."
Of course, the Souls games and I would also add Bloodborne and Nioh apply to the above statement but while these games are tough they are fair in that you have or at leas...
