Totally agree.
Say the next generation of consoles are fully backwards compatible and if they are still using X86_64 architecture then there is no reason why they won't be, then at the start of the new generation, many will still play older games for one to two years and then effectively forget about them as newer games become available.
Sure you will get gamers play an older game for nostalgia purposes but most prefer playing a game they have not pla...
There is nothing wrong with playing older games for nostalgia purposes or if you have not played that game before and would actually like to play it, however, most gamers prefer playing the latest games or actually getting a remaster or reboot if the game is a good (subjective here) one.
I think it would be interesting to do a survey on how many people would actually repurchase a game after they sold it off or how many people would purchase an old game to play on their new ...
Actually, Microsoft does not have cart blanch on Software developers. Any company can hire good software developers although I do have to stress that designing and developing software are radically different.
Well, I use my obsolete backwards compatible PS3 by connecting it's HDMI cable to the spare HDMI connector on my monitor.
I actually have the best of all worlds a high-end PC with fast switching between my PS3 or my PS4. Actually, my PS4 and PS3 combined are still smaller than my PC case. Also if I wish to connect my PS3 or PS4 to my HDTV it takes me less than a minute to make the switch and the result is still ascetically pleasing.
You are quite right the PS4 does not have backwards compatibility but neither does the XB1.
All the XB1 can do is software emulation on selected XBox360 games, not hardware emulation which is required for true backwards compatibility.
@Swiftfox
As for the new Ghostbusters movie. Yes, you would have some people complain because the cast were all women with IMHO is very narrow-minded and sexist.
I have looked at the promos and some snippets of the movie as well as some reviews and what I have seen is a badly made cringeworthy movie which in many ways is actually insulting women.
If you want to play 4K Bluray movies then depending on the price the XB1-s or even the PS4 Neo (whenever that comes out) may be the best value solution.
Personally, I am more into games than watching movies, but everyone to their own.
Note1: I did say "if" you want to play 4k Bluray movies. That assumes you have or will get a 4K TV although here are some words of advice. 1) Make sure your TV supports HDR10** since this is what 4K Bluray support...
@opinionated
Even if you look at the URL I provided, check the web on the model you are interested in as to which HDR it supports. As I have pointed out current LG models will support both but it is better to double check.
Asking the sales rep in a store is probably not the best solution although some actually do know the product that they are selling.
Unfortunately, if you already have a UHD TV and it does not support HDR10 then gettin...
Read or watch some of Jim Sterling's (The Jimquisition) comments or videos and he is no fan of Konami especially when they pull things like this for Pachinko. "Pull the Lever". 😉
To be fair these forums are open to anyone within reason. But the heading and main topic are really just begging to be trolled.
It depends on the free games you get. Those free games won't please everyone and this comment equally applies to the PSN free games.
As for which service offers the best value for your money, again this depends on what you get out of it whether it be the free games or the discounts offered on selected games and the type of games offered at a discount.
The Witcher 3 sex scenes are IMHO fairly tastefully done and are fairly short. In fact, you don't have to instigate a sex scene if you don't want to. What is interesting with The Witcher 3 are the choices you make can have immediate consequences or may have consequences further into the game.
Personally, I don't have any real objection to a bit of boob bounce but when it is done as a fan service (ie. aimed at teens) it can get old really quickly.
There you go stereotyping people. Age or even gender has nothing to do with how people perceive sex in comics (includes manga), movies (includes anime) or games. Basically, it is how a person is brought up in a society and any sociological or religious mores that are impressed on them.
Sometimes a person will rebel against their social upbringing and embrace other social ideals (at least for them) but most people are a product of the societies they are brought up and live ...
Ah! you mentioned High Dynamic Range (HDR) video. Currently, there is a format war between HDR10 and Dolby HDR although HDR10 is supported for 4K Bluray players while Dolby HDR is not.
If you are in the market for a 4K display (includes monitors) then make sure it supports both HDR types or at least the one you hope will win. See the following for more information: http:/...
The X1-S will have a 4K Bluray player and will/should tap into the 4K movie market which while small will continue to grow although it will face competition from digital providers like Netflix. In many ways, this would make fairly good business sense and would not add much to the overall cost of the console. Likewise, it would also make perfect business sense for Sony to do something along the same lines.
Basically no matter if you game on the XB1 or even the PS4 a new SCU...
8K displays should become mainstream within two to five years.
The problem you have with graphical resolution is the human eye and the distance it is viewing something. The following article explains this better than I can: https://carltonbale.com/108... and http://www.rtings.com/tv/re...

The so-called high-end rig is very much in the minority when compared to most PC's currently in use. Even the PS4 and the XB1 fall into the higher end of the mid-tier PC's that are on the market today. It must also be noted that professional and enthusiast gamers only care for games that they enjoy be them on console or PC and actually disdain want to be "Golden Haired Gamers".
You show me a high-end rig and I can guarantee there will be a better performi...
All games have some sort of compromise between graphics and frames rate. In a game where you have almost photo realism then you can normally get away with lower frame rates such as 25fps to 30fps as long as it is locked. For fast moving games then high frame rates (60fops upwards and preferably locked) are essential but photo realism is secondary.
Basically, it all boils down to what you as the player prefer. For an FPS game, high fps is essential but most players will not ...
There is no such entity as a two-dimensional integrated circuit. Basically, all integrated circuits are three dimensional and normally consist of a substrate (usually silicon) with an overlay of what is called dopants and even metals such as gold. Making things smaller is a very good way of packing more reactive devices into the same real estate, however, there is a universal limit to that and that is the overall size of the atoms and the quantum interactions between each atom.
BC or software emulation is a nice value added feature but the is not a system seller unless it is there at the start of the console generation.
