@dumahim

If you read any of my posts, you will see I am no fan of Microsoft, however, they do have the best PR team and many (read nearly all) believe them to the point of being scary.

Personally, I prefer physical disks if the game install is between 30 to 50GB, although I don't mind getting digital if the game is available cheaply (lately, PS+ members have been getting really good discounts) and the overall size is small (3 to 8GB).

Just recently I got the game Neverwinter for free (you can't get any better than that) via digital download (approx 8GB). If you like MMORPG's then it is not a bad game although they do try to suggest you make in...

I hope you backup and on occasion test those backups with a recovery since disk drives (even SSD's) can and do fail. How long before failure that is the question I can't answer although it will happen eventually.

To be fair I have only purchased one BluRay game that did not work and that was because the top printed surface was chipped. Fortunately, the store replaced the game.

Bluray disks are pretty difficult to scratch and that is why you should always lay them down on the shiny surface not the printed surface. Of course, it is better to put the Bluray disk back in its box. As for getting lost or stolen that is always a possibility if you have kids and their friends.

I hope for your sake that you are not ripping your music on a Windows 10 PC unless you have really locked down the telemetry (ie. Big Brother) and even if you have, are your really sure, since some of the "phone-home" features bypass conventional network security setups.

Don't believe me? Just do a simple search on "Windows 10 privacy" . Haven't got anything to hide? Well if I was ripping DRM music or even downloading the odd movie I think I woul...

In the case of the PS4 you can backup to an external hard drive and recover reasonably quickly as needed. The problem you have is how big an external hard drive do you need although the same could be said for internal storage.

Depends, what you mean by measly storage capacity. If you are talking about AAA games that take about 40 to 50GB then you are looking at about 8 games for the 500GB disk and 18 games for the 1TB disk. If you do get games that are on average say 7GB then you can probably have about 60 games on a 500GB disk and around 130 games per 1TB disk and that is quite a large gaming library.

If you start filling up your disk with videos and other stuff then all bets are off.

Keeping the HDMI port is kind of important, how else are you going to connect this device to your HDTV or UHDTV?

Yes, there are other means of connecting a PC to a monitor but modern consoles are designed to be connected to a display device that has by default an HDMI port. The IR port is sort of redundant but for some it is useful.

I still have my PS2 version so I don't really care.

It is a pretty good game though and a must get for anyone who likes Action/Adventure with some Survival Horror thrown in. The game is a departure (IMHO a good way) from the previous Resident Evil games but still has the same survival horror feeling to it unlike later games in the series.

If you like competing against the world try the challenges in Gravity Rush although this may not be the type of game you like. There is nothing like pulling off a gold medal in a timed trial and coming in about 40,000 in the world and the top players can actually do that same trial in half the time. Even worse is when you get 6,000 plus for a kill streak and come in about 15,000 in the world with the top players getting well over 200,000. Still, I had a great time attempting those challenges....

Spamming spells in Dark Souls is a great way to die. Most spells are fairly slow to initiate and within that timeframe the spellcaster can easily be overwhelmed by a fighter with fairly mediocre weapons. The hand flame spell of the Pyromancer is fairly fast and when leveled up and can be devastating against pretty much anyone but there still is a delay of about half a second and a good weapons fighter can use that opening to their advantage.

In Bloodborne, you can also use ...

Try looking a search using the keywords "youtube unreal 4". There are plenty of examples of quite complex 3D environments and usually done within a day or two. Of course, the people who can do this are talented "Artists" who are familiar with using the Unreal Engine tools and not just a want to be.

In Australia, the physical copy of Gravity Rush Remastered has been available in stores for some months now. Early last month PS+ members could have got the game for under half rice.

In the article, I do agree you could finish the game in under 10 hours if you are really in a hurry to finish it and are pretty good at rapidly selecting your targets although six axis part of the Dual Shock does assist. Oh! I almost forgot that the game runs at 60fps and this is essential espe...

I have the CUH1200 model and it is very quiet and draws less power than the original CUH1000 model. The following site has the details: http://wccftech.com/ps4-mod...

For those that don't want to read the URL the CUH1200 model draws about 122W when playing a game compared to the 148W the CUH1000 model draws.

Well, there are people who can do speed runs on games but normally after they have read up on all exploits, seen and read walkthroughs and probably spent hundreds of hours perfecting their gameplay. Just because some people can finish a game quickly by skipping out on some places does not mean everyone will.

Many RPG and even Action/Adventure games have optional quests or areas although if you enjoy the game why would you wish to finish it quickly? Obviously, if you don'...

Maybe you have not been reading lately but that is exactly what you are going to be doing with most of the games coming out for the PSVR. Some games will probably allow you to stand but to move around allot I very much doubt it.

What are they teaching kids in arithmetic nowadays?

While I live in a country that uses the metric system (most of the world does) I will make things easy for you. The recommended dimensions as per the article are: 6.2ft (width) by 9.8ft (depth) which translates to 60.76 sq ft or in my world 1.9m by 3m is 5.7 sq m which is actually quite small especially when you include the fact that the user will be sitting within that area.

3585d ago 3 agree0 disagreeView comment

For those that live outside the US the recommended shape is 1.9m wide by 3m depth which is actually a fairly small area. Inside that area, the player or viewer sits about 1.2m to 2.5m from the camera which would be perfect if I want to use the PSVR from my computer desk.

To keep things in perspective my computer desk is 1.3m wide and 0.66m deep and that is not a big desk so the recommend specs given by Sony are quite small unless you are actually living in a cardboard box....

Just found a video of the making of Dark Souls environment (warning about 26 minutes long) : https://www.youtube.com/wat...

The artist really does make it look easy, however, I am well aware it is not.
