Bungie became independent from MS as well in 2007, and after finishing Halo 3, I believe they stated they'd never make another Halo. Then they said they'd never do another Halo game after Reach, and then turn around and say, "Maybe after 10 years". So, Bungie goes multi platform and PS3 fanboys are laughing their arses off at Microsoft for "losing a company". But when Insomniac goes multi-platform, it's good and no one talks about Sony losing a studio? Makes no sense. And yes, I'm aware of the intricacies of both deals. I just find it amazing how those who were aware of them still lambasting MS on Bungie while being sweet to Sony on Insomniac.

Pretty close to the trailer? No, I've compared the screens side-by-side and the final game easily looks better than the initial target trailer. Kudos to Guerrilla actually, because when they were showing betas for the game in November 2008, they were still improving the graphical quality. The final 2009 product reflected that (there are some graphical comparisons online to compare all 3 versions).
Bungie was under pressure by MS to create a demonstration of Halo 2 when it premiered at E3 in 2003. They admitted later that it was all "smoke and mirrors". This is no different (it's in fact old, since I read something similar sometime back in a Killzone 2 feature on CGSociety).
Except that Bungie's final version of the level showcased was a step-down while Guerrilla's final product was a definite step-up from the Killzone 2 target trailer first releas...

I never really found it a prob to be a gamer. I mean, my girlfriend games and has recently gotten into Dragon Age (and flirted with Alistair - f**king Alistair), before which she was into Arkham Asylum and Age of Mythology.

Counter Strike started out as an indie mod made Minh Le aka Gooseman before he was ever a part of Valve. Valve made the game in Source and also did Condition Zero but the real credit goes to Gooseman in my opinion (and not Valve).
I'm very curious over whether Valve would really take less time making MW2 than IW, or if it would have less bugs. L4D2 came out a year after the first one (MW2 came out two years after the original) and had it's fair share of bugs. Also, MW...
