Many popular media have spoken of the "brilliance" that was Natal, but honestly, do you go to Gamespot, IGN, N4G, Kotaku and CVG for your gaming news and views? Or do you go to the NY Times and Washington Post?
Because that decides what kind of gamer you are. Whatever people carry away from the mainstream media would, of course, be thanks to Microsoft's clever marketing, because they know the audience they want for Natal. They want the housewives, the families,...
Well, I agree that it's a discussion, deep down, and it'd be wrong to call a discussion "Fake". However, HHG tries to pass off his opinions as facts, without anything to back it up. He uses Bungie going multiplatform as a basis for thinking Gears 3 is all MS has to fall back on. Why not Fable 3 or Crackdown 2? He may be trying to open a discussion but pronounces verdicts - flop sided verdicts, at that - on one too many issues. A discussion should be an exchange of ideas - an...
Uh, didn't we just have an article on this topic? :|
Awww...did I hurt the little douche bag's feelings?
What's wrong, douche bag? Criticism filter malfunctioning after you stabbed your mom for telling you to get a real job?
Lol. Come now. That's just mean. He DID say 3 reasons. ;)
The same people who are the only ones commenting on it - Dualshockers writers.
Eh. Yeah, he's nit-picking but at least he gives some definite reasoning (no matter how whiny) and examples to back up his points.
Doesn't change the fact that many, many other people love the game. Has any one seen the Throwback Galaxy? That and LBP2's debut trailer made me shed a tear. :)
Whatever nets the most hits.
Their tech has been used in just about every single PS3 exclusive one could name - Heavenly Sword, Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted 2 and now Killzone 3.
Just because Naughty Dog used it and it's ICE Team made it does not mean ND are directly collaborting with whoever uses it.
Hitler? Osama? Castro? Bush? Kim Jong Il? Narendra Modi? The Communists? Extremists? They're less delusional than Pachter?
You must not have lived a very long life then.
Doesn't quite work that way on N4G. The only way you can properly show some one's opinions are not worth your attention is by dragging them out of Pending, beating them with insults and flames and then getting it into the top stories bracket. So in other words, by giving it your full attention.
I challenge any one to find a bigger conflict of desires on N4G than that.
@morganfell: Even HHG's opinions (I loathe to call them predictions or rumours)...
If I remember correctly, Pachter said Insomniac was nuts for not going multi-platform (therefore implying that they should and will go that route).

And lo and behold, they did, even revealing that they'd had their eye on other platforms for years.
Just saying that sometimes, even his opinions turn out to ...
Nope. Doesn't seem to be a way, aside from mailing the admins and telling them to delete it.
Nah, I bet PS3 fans who read the full line will still think he collaborated with them. And that Nazi Germany and Mother Nature helped too.
Talk about blown out of proportion.
He looks kind of like Hillary Swank from Boys Don't Cry (no offense or anything).
Because some contributors don't do their jobs and we wind up with stupid articles like this.
And the only thing that sucks more than IGN is some random site trying to leech hits off every second thing they do or do not leave off their lists.
Ahahahahahahaha!
Oh my god, this is going to get so rich. I was annoyed by all these GotY articles coming out in the middle of the year, but it looks like they're going to finally back fire on lazy journalists. Ha!
@keyserhitman:
Why don't you say the same to the Kung-Fu dev in the story? Has he seen any videos besides the ones known to the public? Or is it just his belief that they did things first?
We all need more info on Natal to make proper judgements, and devs like this are no exception.
Edit@below: Once again, you can't criticize people for liking Natal by saying nothing worthwhile for it has been seen, and then turn around and say it'...
Not meant as a specific reply to your comment. Just my opinion. :)
But I don't think it's just about getting people who play Wii games (or even casual gamers) to pick up Natal. It's more about selling this as the next level of motion controller gaming. Why else would MS market it as a "controller-less experience"?
Yes, they'd want to sell this as a progressive step-up from the Wii - something like, "this is the new sh*t!" -...
