Agreed! Until Dawn is one of the first games that I've played where it DOES feel like my choices actually matter. Not every choice weighs the same, of course, but to say your choices "don't really matter", honestly, does the game a disservice!
@ Septic: You are definitely NOT unbiased. No one truly is, but your preference, I feel, is well documented.
OT: I lost a bubble for making a joke. It counted as Off-topic and it was a little concerning. There are folks who are way worse, yet, don't lose a bubble that quickly.
So I'm with you, johndoe.
It's a very well done game, but it is still a remaster, being that it re-uses all of the older assets.
That said, it's Gears 1, the best in the series for me, so this is just fantastic!
Until Dawn's reviews have surprised me in the slightest. Not only did it receive countless positive previews, it always look like it would be good.
For some of us, today has been confirmation, not a revelation.
Of most reviewers, TheSixthAxis is one I generally trust, much like GameInformer and Gametrailers (most of the others I skim through, but for me, these guys are the real deal)! Not that I needed their reassurance, but they ALL loved it!
Bring on midnight!
Nah, just spent a lot of time remastering the assets. Looks good, regardless!
OT: My favorite TPS/shooter of all time receiving a remaster like this reminds me just why I like this hobby so much!
I'm sure Need for Speed will also be worth a look! Everything shown so far looks promising!
Indeed, which is why Gran Turismo games take longer to release than Forza games! :D
OT: Silly console wars aside, this will be my first Forza Motorsport purchase! I don't usually pay them much mind, but since I'll be getting the X1 with Halo 5, I figure why not! That, and, I love racing/driving games!
Unplug your PS4. I doubt anyone will lose sleep over it. In regards to Until Dawn, "people" being interested in the game are irrelevant. I asked YOU. Besides, the majority of its press has been positive, unlike the pre-release Order stuff, which was generally negative. So I don't see the correlation.
DRIVECLUB, again, no correlation to Until Dawn. As a matter of fact, most people, that actually play it, these days, love it and its launch woes (and pre-release ne...
Also, and this is a good one, why are you interested in the "flop" that will be Until Dawn?
http://gamrconnect.vgchartz...
@ Vasto: Show us, where does it say (and who has said) that Until Dawn will be "another flop"? Then tell us, how many of the PlayStation 4's games have flopped, in conjunction with the X1's?
I'm curious to know how the X1 has pulled ahead of the PS4, regarding 1st party games. Is it by quantity, quality, or just in your world? Unreleased games don't count as "pulling ahead", because they've yet to be played and judged. Thus, I'd like to know, based on what's out, how you came to that conclusion.
Nah. People expect this game to be good, so it wouldn't really qualify.
Heavy Rain, during its time, is a much better example. Many thought it would flop/wouldn't be good/make no noise for Sony. It did the complete opposite!
The lesson here: find the menu for humble pie and study its ingredients closely. Nothing wrong with the game not rendering in 1920x1080p, the PS4 being stronger, nor anyone having a preference. It's just bad when people can't even admit that they were wrong, or, pretend they never cared to begin with.
Laugh. Out. LOUD! XD
OT: I'm not going to go blaming anyone, but in the future, these types of details should not come out just prior to release. If it's deceptive, it's deceptive, which isn't right to people who are spending lots of money on these things.
To the X1 fanatics (key word) who didn't listen to me, when I said we should wait before jumping to conclusions, a little humility is in order.
You can see those things how you want, but the definitions are pretty clear cut.
A remaster is just that, a remastering of the original assets. To any specific degree is irrelevant. If it isn't re-done from the ground up, it is a remaster.
A remake, however, is a completely different beast. It is, literally, re-created from the ground up. Everything. All of the game-play, visuals, and content is brand new with no past work included.
Thus,...
Gears of War Ultimate Edition is still a remaster. Given that it is a touch up of 2006 title (lets keep that in mind) a little more effort went into prettying up the assets. But there is no such thing as "more remake than remaster". Each are separate and distinct properties. This collection is no different, despite how much more the art was updated in GEoW UE. If The Nathan Drake Collection is a "port", then so is Gears of War Ultimate Edition (which, to a degree, anything...
Nope, me either! Just good to hear that it is even better than I expected (since, at one point, I had individual, on N4G, tell me that it "wasn't even a "true remaster."
The issue with your 13.5m vs 10m shipped talk is the date, or rather, the dates. Sony announced 13.5m PS4's shipped by September 30 (though in your defense, a few sites claimed it as a Nov announcement), while Microsoft announced, during the holidays, that it will ship 10 million consoles "shortly".
Thus, you're trying to make it sound as if Sony and Microsoft are a mere 3.5m consoles apart (or at least, at that point, they were), when in reality, the differ...
For me, Drake's Fortune and Drake's Deception were better games. I won't take anything away from the achievement that is/was Uncharted 2, nor the hard work that went into it. I just thought those two were more personal stories, and for that, I preferred them over the Summer blockbuster feel of Uncharted 2.
