"Fallout 76 Players Deserve Better Than Fallout 1st"
No, they don't. Even before the game was released a lot of the problems of its game design were already known; right after it was released anyone could see the technical wreck it was; so if those people decided to buy it, and even worse: kept insisting on playing it and giving money to Bethesda, they deserve to be screwed over.
Oh, you think Kickstarter success predicts the commercial success of a game? Ever heard of Mighty Number 9?
"on any store other than Epic Games"
This phrase indicates I'm a fan of what "game front" exactly?
Well, to be fair, I wouldn't buy it on Origin, either.
Since I already asked for my refund, I'll only care about it when it's released on any store other than Epic Games, and even then, I'll wait for a HUGE discount (what should not take too long. Let's be real, Shenmue will never sell that well).
I played the japanese version some months ago. It had a lot of problems that were not bugs, but bad game design decisions, like upgrading tools being useless (for example, charging an upgraded tool was the same as using the tool the same amount of times as the charging, both in time and stamina spent, so there was no reason to upgrade). Oh, and the main quests to advance the plot weren't even displayed in the "quests" screen.
These kinds of problems are unforg...
I always hear good stuff about the Atelier series, but with so many games I didn't feel like actually researching. So this article was a good read, and I may buy Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book in the near future.
"If you win a race, you’re pretty much guaranteed to get a sufficient score to get all of the stars though"
Not on the last cups of the... "season"(?). They demand huge number of points. Even getting 3 stars is a little difficult in them.
"They might very well announce Diablo 4 for PC at BlizzCon this year."
Seeing as Blizzard has gotten worse and worse since it merged with Activision, I almost wish there won't be a new Diablo game because I know they will botch it. I can already see myself sighing instead of being excited if they did announce it now.
Pay to play EA games? I'd only do it if I were the one getting paid.
Well, I have a PS4, a Switch, a 3DS, and a gaming PC. When I want quality games on these platforms, I simply buy them. I don't subscribe to Nintendo Online because it's too much to pay to play old games, and I don't subscribe to PS Plus because the biggest game offerings on the service I already bought. Oh, and I don't care about online multiplayer.
Meanwhile, I find it really difficult to find good games on smartphones. I got tired of the ad-fest/gacha-fest...
"Square-Enix aims to support the game for many years to come with frequent updates, characters, and story additions."
Because we all saw how well this has been working for other games... "Live service" games is the newest cancer in the industry.
I've been playing it for the past few days, and I still can't get used to the controls. I wish we could use controllers, especially since the new iOS accepts PS4 and Xbox controllers.
Online? No.
Microtransactions? It's Bethesda, of course it will have plenty.
I would pay 10 dollars once for the subscription rewards (to last forever), like I did with Super Mario Run to get the whole game, but I refuse to pay subscriptions for games.
Nintendo did try to avoid these business models with Super Mario Run. By paying a small amount only once, you get the whole game.
The result? Low earnings.
Meanwhile, Fire Emblem Heroes with its gacha mechanics made much more money. Last time I heard, Fire Emblem made more than 500 million dollar, while Super Mario Run made only around 70 million dollars.
People voted with their wallets. And the gaming industry got a little worse becaus...
I don't even like Zelda and I want to play it because of the art style. I just wish it had VR support, the diorama style fits perfectly in VR.
What confused me the most about this game is how before launching it Capcom said how it would be accessible and great for beginners, that things were being made to mainstream some of the controls, there was even a video of a noob winning against Daigo, but when I played it, I saw nothing of the sorts. Actually, with the V-triggers, V-skill and whatnot, it felt even more complicated than before.
Anyway, for me it was a matter of too little too late. Since I don't like m...
Epic exclusivity only makes sense for indies, who struggle for money. Big companies with well known franchises would profit more by having their games available in as many places as possible.
If the lower cut from Epic Games was THAT good, game companies would offer exclusivity by themselves, Epic wouldn't need to pay them for it.
It's because Kojima fans are much more vocal than the rest.
Since I never cared about Metal Gear or any of the other games he made, I almost never comment on these articles, so maybe more sceptical people are like me. I just like to lurk to see if my thoughts of "people getting overhyped for a game they don't know anything about will always lead to disappointment" will also hold true for this case.
I won't be playing Detroit (or any other Quantic Dream game) on PC because it's Epic Games Exclusive.
