I think EA and Activision are toe to toe.
2K is going down a dark path, but the other two for now are still much worse.

Uhm... what? Switch is not region-locked, and the language follow the language set for the system, not its region. My Switch is japanese, but I set it to English, so my game starts in English.
An HD Mega Drive's Aladdin would be awesome, but I never liked The Lion King, so I hope they're also sold separately.
As usual, people created a world of hype for a game they knew nothing about, and they will get disappointed.

And to be fair, the only great Dragon Age was DA: Origins. I tried to play each one of the sequels, but they were all terrible. Ditching the strategy of the first game for a more action oriented gameplay ruined the series.

I loved Xenoblade Chronicles 2 for around 60 hours. Then I realized I was still so far from the end, and I gave up.
I think you're right. Shenmue would fit better in a Quantic Dream type of adventure game. Although the series created and set many of the open world standards, I don't think the open world format fit the games.
It's $100 cheaper. For some people, especially those who like some of the exclusive games but don't want to pay $300, that may be a good deal. Or a parent who wants to buy a Switch for each child, if there are two it's already $200 less.
Also, there were reports that around 30% of users used the Switch almost exclusively in handheld mode.
The game was fundamentally very flawed (especially the BR and enemy scaling system), so no amount of "remastering" could save it. It needed a complete overhaul, and Square would never spend more time and money in this game than the bare minimum.
I wonder what percentage of the players actually keep transferring old Pokémon to new games.

From the moment I first played a Yakuza game (Yakuza 3 on PS3), I felt that SEGA had all the tools to continue the Shenmue saga, they just didn't want to.

I don't remember such bad plot twist in other games in the series. Or at least not as out of left field as FFVIII's. There were badly worked twists like Vanille's origin in XIII, or Kain's double betrayal in IV, but nothing "are they serious?" like the "orphanage / GF use / Irvine plot hole" in VIII.
Awesome trailer, bad intro. It would be a little better if it played before the title screen, since it's expected in JRPGs for the video...
It makes me remember of Final Fantasy XIII. "The first half is linear, but the game opens up in the second half; although by then it's too late".
