RE3 has two problems: it's a little too short, and it was used as a tool to make people play Resistance and spend money on lootboxes.
But one thing you can't say from this game is that it's boring. The (short) experience is really good, and I'm glad Nemesis didn't overstay its welcome like Mr X in RE2.
I agree. Original RE4 is still very good. They really should've remade Code Veronica (mainly because it isn't easy to find and play - for example, there isn't a PC version...)
The backlash against RE3 after so much praise for RE2 shows that the answer for that question is "no".
The basic gameplay is brilliant, because it's based on RE2's remake. However, it's clear that Capcom used RE3 remake as a tool to make people play Resident Evil Resistance, a multiplayer game with paid lootboxes.
Resistance would be a really tough sell by itself, so by spending less money on RE3, Capcom could ship both games together in the hopes of getting people addicted on the former.
So when a person criticises RE3 remake, it's not bec...
I can't remember a single asymmetrical multiplayer game that was good. Why do they keep making those? (or do they exist and I just don't remember?)
Anyway, I wish they took the time and money and either made RE3 longer or made a single player mode like Mercenaries or Revelations 2's Raid mode. I never played a single RE game in multiplayer.
Oh, are they 30fps? I thought it was even less.
If it's really 30fps, it makes me realize something funny: I never heard anybody saying that they didn't notice the zombies being in a lower framerate. Meanwhile, a lot of people say that don't see any differences between 30fps and 60fps, but putting a 30fps animation in a 60fps game, everybody agrees that it's bad.
Maybe Capcom unknowingly showed those naysayers that the difference between 30fps and 6...
MMZ3 was really good, but it left me disappointed by the last boss...
[SPOILERS]
The biggest surprise when the series started was the change in Zero's design. The new design wasn't bad, but I preferred much more the classic MMX version. In MMZ3 we learn that the Zero we play with is not the real one. So it would be the perfect way of justifying the change in design, and I got really excited with the idea of battling the old design.
However, when th...
Squall is the only character in the series that I hoped would die in the middle of the game (so the much better character Quistis could take his place).
Vaan was useless to the plot, but he wasn't as bad enough for me to wish him dead.
Full japanese support? Cool, I've been trying to find full japanese games in my games library to practice my japanese skills.
Yeah, I was so excited for a Secret of Mana remake and I got so disappointed. And the worst thing is that since they already did a remake, a new (and better) one is out of the question, at least for many years...
2D platformer with heavy doses of backtracking. Simple.
They tried to mimic FFX's sphere board, and they failed miserably.
In fact, FFXIII as a whole was trying to mimic FFX (crystarium, linearity, a character narrating the game...) but it was worse in all aspects.
They say exactly what you have to do. Hide behind the debris when they fall, attack him from behind when front attacks are blocked, and heal when necessary. That's it, essencially.
And I just remembered that FFXV had this option when played in PS4 Pro. You can play in an unlocked framerate that while it can reach 60fps, it would fluctuate between 40 and 50 fps when necessary. I don't know why this isn't an option in all games... In base PS4, even if the highest framerate gets around 40fps, it's already 33% higher than 30fps.
I am "crying" about 30fps. I thought I was clear. I never said anything about framedrops.
I don't think my request for unlocked framerates (so the game can automatically raise it whenever possible) is unreasonable. It would require very little work from developers, and those who value image quality over good framerate wouldn't see any differences.
Although I still wish console games let us lower graphics quality for higher framerate. For some of us that is a desirable trade. Or just let us set an unlocked framerate, since from my experience around 40fps already makes a big difference, and if the console is able to run the game at constant 30fps, I would guess there is some power left to run most of it in slightly higher framerates if unlocked.
Never in the history of gaming a game with "Ultimate" in its name was really ultimate.
This is the first time it happened.
I'm curious to see what comes after the absolute top was already reached.
Another problem I had with FFXV's battle sytem is that with a full party and more than 2 enemies, it was complete chaos and I didn't even know what was happening. In VII's demo we only play with Cloud and Barret, so I still don't know if they fixed that.
All the "git gud" kids excited for a wrong piece of information...
True fans read about the development of RE games and know that safe rooms are one of the few "sacred" things since the beginning of the series.
Oh, really?
