The title is a bit misleading. It's about the JRPGs of the 7th generation of consoles, and not about "the 7th generation of JRPGs".

"Resident Evil saw a great year in 2011"? What a terrible lie. A couple of HD ports (RE4 doesn't even have support for the PS Move) and a cash-in for 3DS don't make 2011 a great year for RE.

To be fair, RE Mercenaries 3D is fun, but it's just not enough.

It could be worse. Imagine if Vanille was the protagonist...

Yes, it does. The framerate still dips on some parts, but it's not as bad as the console versions.

I hope they stop making these online FFs (and what's worse, releasing them as part of the numbered series) and go back at making what they do best, and that's offline RPGs.

Well, for the past few years even their offline RPGs kind of suck, but they should give up on the things they suck more and concentrate on getting better on the things they suck less (we know they can do better, since they were the kings of RPG not too long ago).

The game is not that good, but for 10 bucks it's a steal!

Dragon Age 2? I can't believe how many lists of best games it's in. Critics say "if it wasn't the sequel to Origins, people would love it". Well, I have friends who never played Origins and none of them liked DA2. It's just not a good game.

"A role-playing game in the truest sense"? If it's true, then I just found out that I hate RPGs.

I like the idea of some competition to spice things up a little. But until this day, I haven't seen any other good alternative to Steam.

Even though I don't like EA, I was keeping a close eye on Origin. That is, until I heard that people got banned from their forums for stupid reasons and it also banned them from the service and kept them from playing the games they paid for. I will never buy a single game there.

How you play is your choice. You can plug your PC on your TV and play on your sofa the same way you play on your consoles.

It's too bad that simulated joystick with touch UI sucks hard. I bought many games on my iPad, and the ones that use it are the worst ones, they're almost impossible to play. If smartphones and touchpads continue to ignore the necessity of physical buttons, they'll never substitute dedicated game devices.

"if they make the game people want, they get criticised"

When was the last time they made the game people wanted?

Well, to be fair, they actually tried to emulate X (the best in the series) with XIII. They made a version of the Sphere Grid, they made a focused/linear game, they put more emphasis on the plot and the characters...

But they destroyed the "Sphere Grid" by making us follow a strict path; they removed any side-q...

Actually, I hated when the world opened up. Up until then the game tried to stop up us from grinding, and then suddenly we HAVE to grind to continue. By chapter 11, I just wanted to finish that boring game as fast as possible, but I had to spend hours grinding in those boring side missions to be able to continue.

They already have us spending our free time on the phone, by calling them to complain about our broken consoles!

Terrible physics and movement, only 4 zones, overuse of the homing attack, camera is too near, stages are full of "gotcha!" traps, no new ideas, it doesn't even have great graphics - it looks like the smartphone game it was created to be.

Oh, sorry, actually there was a new idea. The stage where Sonic has to carry a torch to iluminate a few inches around him. So we have to walk. Slowly.

It's good to see that SEGA is supporting PC gaming. It's bad that Sonic 4 sucks...

I got a yearly subscription at launch. It was great to fill up my HD with some games, because I had just bought my PS3. But since it expired, I don't feel like renewing. I have too many blu-ray games to play, and many others on my PC, Wii, and 3DS to bother with the not-so-great "free" Plus games.

The best FF for me is X. But even so, V is the one I played the most times. The job system is so addictive.

It's strange that the job system, the biggest selling point of the game, only got a really short mention in this review.

I bought Power Stone Collection for PSP thinking "I never got it on my Dreamcast, so I can finally see how great this game is". It turns out that it's not that good. In fact, after a couple of days I stopped playing completely.

What? Dragon Age II? This list just lost all credibility.

5205d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

You don't have to draw magic. But only if you don't plan to use magic. And with so few magic, you'll spend half the game with almost no choice to junction. The GF animation take too damn long, but you can choose not to use them. In the end, what is left for you to do? Use attack non-stop during battles and watch Squall say "whatever" two hundred times (and suddenly becoming a completely different person in the end of the game)? That sounds reeeally fun.
