I bought The Witcher 2 from GOG. I do miss the auto-update from Steam (and updating this game manually isn't very easy), but I really like GOG's way of thinking about DRM-free and global releases. I refused to buy some games on Steam (like the ones from Ubisoft) because of draconic DRM, and I stopped buying games on Direct-2-Drive because a lot of games couldn't be bought on my country. Even some games on Steam can't be bought everywhere, like Bully.
@sypher
For free? He's paying $299. It doesn't say FREE, but it says "over $55 bonus value". Bonus = "something given, paid, or received above what is due or expected".
@YipMan86
Of course 3G is not free, but if the package says that you're getting a free month requiring only a vague "activation", it's completely understandable that for a lot of people "activation" might mean "to turn the option on&q...
Oh, I see. So everybody should know that "activation" means that you have to pay for a month, even though you are getting a free month as a bonus (or "bonus"). Now I get it.
Where exactly does it say that you need to pay for a month to get the bonus?
Wow, that must be the most forced way I ever saw anybody trying to make Squall and Rinoa's "romance" make any sense. Too bad that the "build up", "break down Squalls character" and whatnot aren't real. He demonstrates no love at all for Rinoa and then suddenly in space at almost the end of the game, he decides he cares for her. Yeah, really good build up.
People who defend FFVIII loves to say "Squall had reasons to be a jerk like tha...
@Hicken
Every VIII fanboy say that Squall development is exemplary. It isn't. Just because he started as an ass and ended as a "hero" doesn't make it a good character development. He stays the same all the game and almost in the end it's like "oh, I think the game is ending and I can't finish it like this. I have an idea! I'll change completely in 3... 2... 1...".
Want to see a good character development? Play X. Tidus ...
So the fact that its selling well means that a lot of people are buying them for quad-sli? Ok...
Yes, it is. Bad story and terrible plot twist, bad characters and character development, bad magic system, bad "enemies level with you" system... Even the opening CG was bad (it was visually stunning, but had spoilers and didn't make much sense, much more a trailer than an opening scene). But the graphics were good for its time.
Maybe this article is interesting for the two people that will have the money to build a rig like those.
Fans complain that SEGA puts a horrible gimmick in every Sonic game. But they praise the game that started this trend.
I watched every episode of Night Springs in Alan Wake.
Great. Let's just forget this game ever existed.
Well, I don't know if you noticed it, but games evolved. Games today take more money and time to be made than most movies. If you really are satisfied with a "you've save the princess" screen after spending dozens of hours in one game... well, good for you. The rest of us, who knows the level of storytelling and emotional moments that games can achieve, have the right to expect something a little better.
EDIT: This was supposed to be a reply to creatchee.
That's why I refuse to buy DLC like alternate costumes, weapons and whatnot in any game. They all shoud be included in the game and, if sold separately, should cost like $5 for all of them together.
Well, MvC3 won't be missed. Bought it (the first version) for PS3 and I was deeply disappointed.
Yeah, after you beat the first 8 worlds, you unlock the special worlds. They are more difficult and they can prove to be quite a challenge.
It should be possible to give specific commands to every party member instead of just one of them while the others fight by themselves, usually attacking monsters that are not the one I want them to, or wasting time giving wrong buffs or healing the wrong person.
It's funny how people who defend Vita say "it's like a console on your hands", but refuse to pay the price of a console game.
I couldn't agree more. I always get a little angry when they don't put the best ending in "best endings" lists.
I'll only buy DA3 after reading many, many opinions about the game six months after the release. Never again pre-buying a BioWare game like I did with DA2.
