I really think about the kind of things they could use this for.

With the real time weather it would be cool for a other games based in real world places to use the weather in game. The levels would play different every time there is different weather!

From the actual article...

"As mentioned earlier, telemetric data would be transmitted as soon as a controller is picked up, from readings like controller position, orientation, motion data, and pressure sensitive switches."

Nothing there implies it uses your palms as a fingerprint. The telemetry is read and the system scores its probability with the profiles it has. Based on the probability it selects the user.

Your comments are all fair. I am not trying to defend MS, but there are similarities in behaviors I have seen in the past for Sony as well.

For example. DriveClub was supposed to be a major PS4 launch game but it was delayed for a year at literally the last minute (PS4 commercials included DriveClub as a launch title). Also, The Last Guardian saw a multi-year delay and even moving to a next generation. So, first parties delaying big games at bad times is not a new thi...

Looks to me that they are judging the user by the way the controller is being held.

Can you reply with a link to the new XSX UI? I have seen the new store but nothing about an updated UI yet.

This really is not a new feature for consoles. They are doing it differently, but with XB you can say that when controller A is turned on, it will login User 1.

It is new that they are using what appears to be how the user holds a controller to figure out who to sign in. But the idea of linking a user to automatically sign in via controller is not new at all.

$600 for a console is always a problem. There are core people that will buy anything at any price. PS3 tried a $600 launch and it did not work out great for them. They managed to recover, but the start was rocky. Any logically smart gamer will not spend that much for a console in its first year. Especially with the typical drought that follows launch.

I know Halo is delayed. But, even if it wasn't and it was an amazing game I wouldn't pay $600 + accessories + ...

Yup no company has ever delayed a game before. It is the end of the world, chaos everywhere. people dying in the streets, etc.

Duke Nukem Forever took over 10 years, The Last Guardian 7 years. Yup, 5 years and a delay has never happened before..

Ya, this is different. It was a launch highlight game.... Oh right, let's go back to the start of the PS4.... Ya, I remember now, DriveClub was delayed from launch and it was a major highlight of the P...

And why is the Apple platform so popular? Because of the apps! If there were no apps nobody would buy the platform.

The fact that they have a 30% tax on apps is bad. And it obviously violates anti-trust laws because there is no competition with that store. If I buy an Apple device and don't like the store I have no choice.

I find it interesting that Epic offered to work with Apple to get what they want. I also like that they were giving users choice. Use the Apple Store or pay direct.

I am completely fine with the Apple Store having restrictions and listing stuff validated through their policies. What I am not fine with is this is the only store allowed to be on an Apple iOS device. Although I question the setup Epic did here, I do think that they are on the right side of this dispute. ...

LOL. Batman will be added later for a small but not so small price!

I think it is more about what a full remake can bring to the table. 3 generations is a good guideline for remake for sure. But, also it is about whether there has been enough innovation in the genre to make it worth while.

For example, "remade" pac-man probably won't give much. But a remake to the games mentioned like Dino Crisis, Resident Evil 1, Fall Out 1, Silent Hill 1, Metal Gear Solid 1 all seem like they could add to the original games a lot.

I like the changes too... It is nice now that it is really fast.

But, one thing that really irks me is that I cannot add movies to a cart and buy them in a single transaction. That still is not available in the new store.

I agree. Too many games are shipping incomplete.

But, this game is doing a lot that no game or sim has done before, so you can expect a certain amount of issues. Nothing so far seems to be about the core gameplay. More on how they are interpreting the data they have for the planet. That can be understood given that there are literally billions of buildings all around the world and re-interpreting them into 90GB of texture data will have issues.

Phil has changed the direction of a large organization. This takes time. While it is convenient for fanboys to play this like politics, the reality is much different.

Games will inevitably get delayed this year. I will bet that Halo Infinite was just the start of delays on the games that aren't re-using existing engines. Every company lost time to COVID-19 depending how close games were to completion for this holiday many will probably get delayed. When you are bu...

Yup, people buy record players and LP records too.

Things don't go away necessarily, but they become niche things that people buy as a hobby or collector.

People buy what they want to buy with their own free will. Personally, I gave up on collector editions long ago. Had too many trinkets laying around doing nothing. Looked cool, but next to zero value in my life other then to brag I had a lot of stuff. Now I am simplicity mode. Keep everything s...

The continued demise of physical games.

You look at digital games sales now, and by the end of this next generation physical is probably a niche market space.

Especially, if the world gets to universal 5G and broadband wireless satellite connectivity for rural areas.

I actually think this looks pretty good. Hopefully it has a campaign that is as interesting as the story trailer.

Yes, COD is a yearly franchise but that doesn't mean it is not at all good.

FIFA, NBA 2K, NHL, and Madden are yearly as well. Yearly franchises can work.

I don't think either console justified the probable $499 + accessories + game cost for the launch window. Essentially Sony is asking you to pay that for spider-man, and Microsoft is well let's just say asking you to pay $499 + accessories. In a year the consoles will be $100 cheaper and they will have more next gen games is my current feeling.

Battletoads is a past IP with a very specific market of gamers. It is an XB cult classic. It is a arcade style brawhaller and very difficult but really fun to play. Downloaded it yesterday on my XBO X and thoroughly enjoyed it. To me better then Streets of Rage 4 which got 7/10 from IGN.
