I am not sure that is a bad thing at all. The way things are looking, many launch games will be delayed or ship incomplete. I had already decided launch wasn't good enough for either new next gen console. Really the Halo delay solidified my thought process for both consoles.
Also, Sony started accepting applications for pre-orders yesterday. Still no price. This is really concerning me that these new consoles may even go above $499 at launch. Which would also redu...
"Microsoft didn’t publish this, and it’s multi plat."
So, what does that have to do with what appears to be a great game? Would it be better for Sony gamers if it wasn't on the Sony platform? Same with PC gamers? Does it hurt XB gamers that it is not a full exclusive?
Microsoft owns the studio and therefore is financially funding the studio not the publisher. The publishing agreement for this game was made before MS bought the studio the...
Nice. Can't wait to play this on GamePass!
Not for people that have 4K TVs.
And the reality is every one of these games should easily hit 4K and 60 FPS on the next gen consoles. This should be pretty effortless.
As for DLSS 2.0, it will happen over time. Just not the highest priority right now.
You would think after all this time you would get bored of coming into articles on XB and spreading fear, uncertainty, and doubt (FUD).
But, I guess you have nothing better to do.
How much is Sony paying you anyhow?
All that is is just a bunch of marketing and hyperbole.
Looking through the marketing and hyperbole... They are hiring a lot of talented people there, so it will be interesting to see what they are cooking up.
But, I am very much on the fence waiting to see what they have. Talent is only one ingredient to make a great game.
I've gotta play this! Don't see a lot of CRPGs getting this kind of score.
I have not seen a single announced game so far except for The Medium and R&C Rift in Time that could not be shipped on current gen consoles. Yes, they would have degraded graphics fidelity and lack ray tracing, but at the core all the next gen games shown to date could ship on this gen of consoles.
@bouzebbal
How can it be anti-consumer when every single PS5 shipped will have a controller in the box? They are giving you what you need to play the games on PS5 in a complete package.
It is not anti-consumer to no longer support older accessories that were made for a different device. This is simply a cost consideration if you need more then one controller.
With the current known launch lineup I won't pay $499 for either console.
I don't consider $499 hefty. But, there is not a single game announced for this year that takes advantage of more than just graphical and audio improvements the new consoles will provide.
Yes, we know specs and accessories.
We have a list of upcoming games but, 95% of those games do not have a release quarter assigned to them yet.
And there is no price yet.
The two biggest factors to me for purchasing a console is games and price. Here we are 2.5 months til launch and neither is clear on either next gen console.
To me, the bigger issue to watch is how many next generation consoles will be available at launch this year. Looks like both consoles will come in mid-late November. And neither company has announced a price yet so that is very concerning. Game delays may become moot if the consoles are very expensive and in low supply.
If your price was reasonable and you had a lot of consoles you would announce earlier and ship earlier. By not announcing price both companies are start...
@LoveSpuds
Yes, Sony has had a better track record over the past 10, 20, and 25 years. They have been in console gaming longer then MS and they have learned along the way just as MS has.
If I look at the past 5 years I do see Sony as becoming a bit complacent. Big first party games are mostly focused on action-adventure style games. They also let Quantic Dream, Daybreak, and Evolution Studios go which all brought diversity to Sony's lineup. I do like that...
Let's walk thru the facts.
Sony said the PS Network would always be free to gamers at the start of the PS3 era.
Sony then started to charge for the network and nobody was buying it.
Sony then started PSN+ with two free games every month and gamers got on board.
Sony at the start of the PS4 era made PSN+ mandatory for many multi-player games.
They could double the GamePass price and it would still be a great deal.
PSNow is a great deal too. I play a lot of PS Now games thru my PC rather then going to my living room TV on my PS4 Pro.
There are more PC gamers then all three consoles combined.
Consoles make more money but there are 1.3 Billion PC gamers... Yes, 1.3 billion PC gamers...
Consoles.... 729 million... Ya, barely over half of PC gamers.

I can play Horizon Zero Dawn on PC. And with its success I can see more and more PS exclusives come to PC.
Between exclusives coming to PC and PS Now I can play most major Sony exclusives through my PC.
You are assuming no supply problems. And a console that is reasonably priced.
Both could massively affect sales.
With Backwards compatibility, XB Smart Delivery, and PS Cross Buy there is no chance I buy a ported or simple re-master game this next gen. I don't know why any gamer would buy a simple remaster going forward.
I totally understand re-makes, but remasters hopefully have gone the way of the dinosaurs.
I will stick to SP and story driven games, thank you very much.
I will leave Fornite, PUBG, Apex, etc to the gerbils in the spinning wheel that are doing a lot but not really doing anything.
