I have literally went from almost always buying day one releases to almost never buying day one releases now.
Not only are games shipping broken, but they are also shipping content incomplete. If I wait a year, I get definitive/gold editions with all the content and the game is good to play. In the meantime, I just play whatever comes to GamePass, Games with Gold, PSN+, and PSNow. Why spend $70 on day one, when I can wait, and spend $10-30 a year later. I have tons of b...
Really all they are doing here is taking the 4k assets from PC and porting them to console. To me, this is just expected.
For me, I want more gaming companies not less... I want them all to be successful.
Can't wait for this game to come to EA Play!
Ya, and put it on GP to boot.
I can guarantee Sony had no part in that decision.
@Knighttofelemia
If you are not towing a large amount then a 4 cylinder would be more cost effective both in purchasing and ongoing costs. It really depends on what you intend to tow/haul.
Ya, in Japan, Switch is making PS look bad, and XB is non-existent.
First, it is not half the specs.
Second, if you don't have a 4K TV, then why would you waste money on the XSX? This is just a money smart decision for people that do not have and do not intend to buy a 4k TV anytime soon.
Some more reasonable reviews coming in now.
Time to try Avengers out and see how it really is. I quite enjoy my PSNow subscription.
I am glad Hitman has been successful. I hope that this generation the stealth games become smarter AI wise. I enjoy the stealth games, but the AI's are still pretty dumb in them.
I could see using the word "desperation" literally, 15 years ago when 360 was starting to lose its "small" foothold in Japan. But, for over 15 years (Pretty much since the release of Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey) XB has had a "extremely small" presence in Japan. I think that XB has reset their approach in Japan. And are just trying different ways to start making progress in the market.
If you look at GamePass, there have been quite a few g...
So, that means you don't try and work on the market slowly?
I don't see that as a huge effort, getting some you tube influencers to market what you are doing.
I don't know how much it costed MS, but I doubt it was an over amount.
You think about it, People that are highly into MLB video games would've bought a Sony console. Everyone knows these are the best MLB games by far. So I would suspect they wouldn't have been expecting a lion's share of sales on XB. So, MS and MLB probably discussed how to market it to get sales on XB. And they both concluded the best financial approach would be gamepass. It guarant...
It is ironic, and there needs to be a balance between new content and supporting the past. MS needs to do a lot better with new content going forward and hopefully all of their studio acquisitions over the past 3-4 years makes that happen.
And there is something wrong with that?
Just like any other industry sometimes rental/leasing makes sense. Ownership is not for everyone. You obviously see value it (by the way, I do too) but, not everyone does nor can afford ownership of games that are now $70 each to own.
Even with ownership GamePass provides value. I use it to play games until they get to the price I am willing to pay to own them (aka Their value to me).
True, I think Capcom's recent games are exceptional, but they simply ported a lot of their older games to the PS4 and all were mostly cheap ports yet still charged gamers full price or nearly full price for them. Also, their "Special Editions" have just been blatant money grabs (DMC5 Special Edition).
I give them an 9 out of 10 for their effort on new games and the RE2 remake. I give them a 2 out of 10 for their lame ports and RE3 remake.
I agree, there has not been anything truly amazing yet this generation. It really brought consoles to more consistently deliver 4k and load times are dramatically cut. But other then that, this generation has not had a ton of gameplay innovation yet.
Yup because Half Life Alyx and VR are perfectly on topic for this article.
Yes, I did. They took the assets they had from PC and applied them to console. Notice there was no comparison on 4K Pc to 4K console. That is because they are pretty much the same.
Also, read my comment. It was not textures. Assets includes all graphical assets not just textures. The assets were just too detailed for the previous consoles. All they have done is copy those assets into the console games from the PC version. If it was more, it would've taken them ...
