There is no tough choices for MS at E3.

Monday has to be a big, strong message on how they are going to support the X1 OS and make great games for the platform.

Then, Tuesday has to show how they are willing to take the reigns back for PC gaming while Valve abandons it for its Steam Machine adventure.

There are no tough decisions there. It is more about making sure that both PC and XB customers are happy with the direction on their choice pl...

I am really happy to see this. Oculus Rift is the leader in VR. They have been doing this for a while now, and it makes a lot of sense.

First, MS is not really a hardware company so supporting a strong VR third party VR vendor is good for both its PC and XB business.

Second, VR is not going to be for everyone. Many people have issues using VR and it is an expensive accessory.

Third, this creates an platform that is attractive for developer...

So how are they faltering on exclusive titles exactly?

They have lots of games you can't play on PlayStation.

Yes, a lot of games are both PC and XB. But, to MS either a PC game sold or an XB game sold means that the user is using and committed to a Microsoft platform. MS does not care how many consoles and surfaces it sells. They care about how many people use their platforms in totality... XB + PC + WinTablets + WinPhone.

How many gamers don't have a PC?

I have a lot of gaming friends. I know of none who don't have a PC.

@B1uBurneR

Your X1 must be flawed. I have over 150 games installed on my X1 and I have not had 30 second lags from screen to screen.

Also, You Tube makes its apps not MS. So how they choose to multi-task and support stuff like task switching or snap is up to them.

What the PS4 is adopting the X1 OS?

Thanks for the heads up! The X1 operating system runs circles around the PS4 with snap, great voice support, and multi-VMs for true segregation of gaming from apps.

Sure the interface has issues, but that can be solved. Unlike the PS4. Because for the PS4 to multi-task and segregate apps they would have to take computing resources from the game OS. Instantly all PS4 games would drop to 900p at best.

Care to elaborate why?

I am really curious on how this model is best for gamers.

I like the ability to PS Now from many devices, but is that the only reason it is better?

My argument is that this is now standard procedure for Operating Systems... Apple does it, Android does it, and now Windows is doing it. Get used to it, because this is the only way the major OSes work now.

Win10 is a free upgrade so people should not care. This is like Someone saying you require iOS9 for Apple Music. It is part of the constant upgrades Apple does and nobody questions it.

Windows is turning into a similar OS as a Service.

@MasterCornholio
When did I say Microsoft or Sony in my comment?

I was asking a question would you rather have 12 or 4 90+ games each year and just choose when you buy them.

Neither MS nor Sony have even release 4 90+ games in one year yet. Never mind 12. The question was an exaggeration to prove a point that gamers like great games. It does not matter if they are released all at once or scattered evenly throughout the year.

That's minute that should not be wasted.

I would've like to have seen a redesign as well. I guess that will be next year.

Call of Duty 3 was released on PS2, PS3, Wii, PC, and 360. That was the second CoD iteration last generation.

You should try walking into a shareholder meeting and explain why you passed up 100's of millions of dollars in revenues simply because gamers want you to abandon last gen.

It has nothing to do with the people that work at Activision being greedy. It has everything to do with the people that have invested in Activision and want a return on that investment because that's the only reason they poured money in to begin with.

That was a very lame article...

MS guaranteed will have Halo 5, Gears of War Anniversary, Fable Legends, Forza Motorsport 6, Killer Instinct Season 3, D4 Season 2, and Rise of the Tomb Raider.

MS must also show Scalebound progress, Crackdown progress, and show that Phantom Dust still has life.

They also need to tell us about what Twisted Pixel and Rare are working on. And what the current status is for RTS games that MS own like Halo Wars, A...

I could not care less about when games ship. I care about playing quality games.

Would you rather have 12 - 90+ rated games ship in November or get 4 - 90+ games spread across quarters of the year?

The whole concept spreading out somehow makes things better is really stupid. Give me 12 - 90+ games in November and if I want to spread playing them out I will buy one a month for the next year.

Is that really necessary in a Sony thread? Honestly, I was commenting in a Forza thread just a few days back about idiot Sony fans coming into the thread and barking about GT...

This makes you just as bad as them. This thread should be focused on GT. Not about cynical fanboys who are promoting their favorite game/console.

GT is just as good as Forza as far as I'm concerned. I played GT3-6 and loved them. I also played Forza Motorsport 2-5 and loved t...

Just a few Metacritic facts rather than your baseless comment that GT rates better...

Forza Motorsport 5 on X1 = 81
No GT on PS4 yet

Forza Motorsport 4 on 360 = 91
GT 6 on PS3 = 81

Forza Motorsport 3 on 360 = 92
Gran Turismo 5 on PS3 = 84

Forza Motorsport 2 on 360 = 90
Gran Turismo 5 Prologue on PS3 = 80

Forza Motorsport on XB = 92

Consoles are not selling well right now period. While they saw record sales in the holidays they have seen year-over-year drops in almost every month this year.

I expect Sony do the same as MS... Release a $399 1 TB and drop the 500's to $349 to clear them out...

Then, during the holiday season we will see the 1 TB drop to $349 for X1 and Sony react only if they are not outselling X1.

Price drops at E3 don't make sense.

Sales in June and through the summer months are the lowest they are all year. doubling your sales for a couple months in summer does not help sell lots of consoles.

Price drops in September - November are a different story though. This is when sales are highest, so getting double sales in this time frame really helps the console sales for the year much more.

EA has really had a falling out with MS...

EA Access only on Xbox One, Peggle 2 timed exclusive on XBox One, PvZ GW 1 timed exclusive on Xbox One, Dragon's Age DLC first on Xbox One, Titanfall funded and console exclusive to Xbox One...

If that's a falling out I hope MS has the same falling out with all publishers!
