@LonDonE
Dud. I have bought all my games digitally since 2007. Between PS, XB, Switch, and PC I have over 3,000 games. At one time I ran an XB with 30 TB of Hard drives so I could download all my games. I know the issue, but the answer isn't smaller games... The answer is cheaper and larger storage.

LOL. For 270 GB I could install about 10 games that are way better then CoD.

CoD SP campaigns are trash now. MP is pretty solid but if you play the game for the campaign it is a pure disappointment. Bought Last year's CoD near day one for the first time this last generation. It was garbage. Adding SP game time to relive the same "memory" over several times was just plain whacko.

LOL. XB360 shipped initially with a 20 GB HDD. And people called the first 4-8 GB games absurd. XBO shipped with a 512 GB drive and people called the first games about 50 GB absurd. Now we have on the 1 TB XSX 270 GB games and that is absurd.

See the pattern here?

The concern I have here is in this generation that the NVMe drives are lot more expensive then the relative size of games now. NVMe drives need to come down in price and increase in size dr...

I am not going to make excuses for MS, GamePass is great and GamePass has nothing to do with whether a game is complete or not. I don't know why you are bringing that in for a campaign feature missing with Halo.

And almost every developer is shipping features after games ship. You may say Sony is the only one that doesn't but one of their best games last year Ghosts of Tsushima got MP added two months later. So this is not unique to delay and put features out la...

@thebibsnips
So everyone that plays an evil character in a movie/game is subject to death threats?

Almost every show/game on the planet has a protagonist and antagonist. What you are saying is the antagonist in every show where there is one should be subject to death threats.

Ummmmmmm. OK.

I guess every show has to be a happy story about how everyone worked together to build a lego house or something. Guess there should be ...

I can agree with that. I think there needs to be a marketing rule in gaming....

Thou shalt not show or announce a game until it is a maximum of 12 months from verified release. We see all these shows and showcases over and over with "coming soon". And coming soon means anything from 6 months to 7 years (Last Guardian as an example).

I always enjoy the announcements and then releases shortly after. not the nauseating wait as the delays pile u...

Only McDavid's X-Factor could score on him!

Actually I see it is on GamePass today.

Looks like Quake II and Quake III Arena are also coming as their remasters are already on PC!

@iRetrouk
Not sure why everyone is disagreeing with you. You only stated facts.

They updated the article to say Quake is on the MS Store for $9.99. Nice a pure remaster.

But what I really want is a remake or reboot!

1766d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Exactly. They may have done some new optimizations on XB, but even if there are new optimizations, the differences aren't big enough for anyone to really care.

10-15 fps is a lot different conversation at high side of 30 fps then it is at 50 fps on the high side. 30 fps is a minimum standard in my books. Anything higher is gravy.

I am actually really surprised at XB sales in Japan, Asia and the Middleast?

I am used to seeing the numbers in the hundreds or very low thousands.

What is up with over 10,000?

1766d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

If I read the article correctly XB outsold PS5 for the time period in the US region.

(Now, that is VGChartz so it is debatable, but you may want to read it)

I think he is pointing out the weekly sales gap vs the total sales gap.

1766d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Yup, and to you the Switch just doesn't exist. Even though at current pace it may becoming the best selling console ever.

1766d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

And why don't we get PS5 digital numbers?

Because it really doesn't matter.

@UltraNova
A lot of core gamers buy switch as well.

It is just a really successful console. Some people don't like that because it isn't a technical marvel, but they are selling it well, and people are buying it.

In order to showcase something for the holidays in 2021 you have to have something for the holidays in 2021.

I have a funny feeling Horizon is delayed to 2022.

Sony had a good launch and great follow up games until the end of June. But from July til at least next January things are looking drier then a dessert from a first party perspective. Not bad, just reality. I still haven't finished Returnal and R&C. That is fine with me.

The same reason that when you buy a 2x4 it isn't 2x4, and when you buy a hard drive its gigabytes and megabytes are measured by 1000's and not 1024's.

It is just the startup environment. Glad their focus was on everything else before this. Literally, I am not going to boot my XB and say, "Wow, this changes my whole gaming experience". Personally, to me, this is a wasted effort that could've been put to other things.

But, nonetheless I am glad they probably did some other optimizations that makes it so this doesn't take more resources from games. That was the most important thing to me.
