We are just seeing a lot of sequels this gen vs new IPs. God of War, Halo, Forza Horizon, Horizon, GT, Ratchet & Clank, Spider-man, Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, Tales, etc.
Then we are seeing remasters and remakes.... Diablo II, Demon's Souls, Alan Wake, etc.
At the start of gens we are supposed to see new IP. Not 3 years in. New IPs have been few and far between. Gearbox... They just have not put out any new good IP for a long time. And ...
And that is where the video game industry is flawed. Entertainment should be for everyone. Increasingly platforms are using exclusivity to high encourage people to subscribe to their platforms in both video games and movies.
On one side I think it sucks for the consumers because people can't see the content they like in just one platform. But, I don't know how the content providers think it is good for their brand. I have a PS5 and XSX so it really doesn't...
I wouldn't say that. I think that they are still adding to the environments and working on the game engine performance so they can up the resolution on stuff.
Gearbox has to figure out another IP that they can be successful at. I love Borderlands but only want to see a new game every 4-5 years.
Actually, I am still working my way though Borderlands 3 LOL with some co-op friends.
and Deathloop, Tales of Arise, Diablo II Resurrected, Far Cry 6 and Back 4 Blood.
Honestly it was a great show, and so was the XB shows at e3 and Gamescom.
I am just glad competition is back. Some of the best innovation we saw was when 360 and PS3 were strong.
Ubisoft games are pretty good and I still get them. They may not have the best innovation but they seem to never ship a low quality game unlike many other third party studios.
At east when I buy an Ubisoft game I know what to expect.

KOTOR, again no gameplay.
Spider-man 2 next to zero gameplay(Might have actually been only cutscenes).
GT7 - 30 seconds of actual gameplay, rest was menu features and car lust.
Ragnorok. That hyped me with real gameplay.

Project Eve looks like Bayonetta. But it did not look nearly as good as Bayonetta.
I do wish Bayonetta 3 would ship on the other consoles though. I loved the original and played it on both 360 and PS3. Would love to see both sequels make their way to PC, XB, and PS.
Switch is a home console / mobile hybrid.
A home console does not need to be the peak of performance and power to be a home console.
Switch is winning the largest share of console gamers. Sony and XB fans are just jealous.

For PS4 owners the update should be free. There is nothing in the video that makes that game significantly better then when I played it on my PS4 Pro. No new content. Nothing.
People have to quit letting publishers off the hook for ports disguised as remasters. I can have an old PC, then go and buy a new PC. I can download all my games again, and play them with the new enhanced settings available on my PC for free. Same with mobile games. But for...
I just can never get enough God of War. To me this is the hack and slash that set the stage for all others. It is the standard that all others are measured.
Honestly this just looked like a basic port/remaster. All they did was turn up the graphics resolution and framerate. The rest looked exactly like the PS4 version I played.
I thought the show was great but I also thought Steam's portable announcement, Nintendo's E3, XB's E3, and XB's Gamescom was great.
To me, there is a lot of great stuff in the pipeline across the board. And because I have PC and all three consoles I can enjoy it all!

MM was a standalone side story.
Still I would like to see Spider-man every 3rd or fourth year not 3 in 5.
Honestly wish they would've did more to make this a current gen game.
I expect this will be a mid to upper 80's game. Strong but no GOTY. The more I have seen, the more I have like it.
I have a feeling that GOTY is between Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart and Psychonauts 2.
