The problem is not gaming time.
People like to blame gaming, but the problem is more how the kids are being raised and the values being instilled upon them by their parents.
I have two kids. One kid games a lot. Today, she has a job as a nurse, is fit, travels the world, and volunteers in many different things. I couldn't ask anything more of her. Gaming has not affected her contribution to society or her mental state. It is her hobby.
Whether it is communism or free capitalism.
The solution is not one or the other. The solution is in the middle.
While I would agree that regulating gaming time is ridiculous, there are some things in communism that are working better then capitalism. For example gangs, drugs, and guns are out of control in highly capitalistic countries such as the USA. Also, the USA is morallly void. Meaning that it doesn't matter what you do as long as you follo...
I would argue MS started falling when Don M. took over in February 2007 until his embarrassing exit in 2014 after the XBO launch, since then, MS has been rebuilding XB.
I can totally understand what you are saying about E3 and "next events". And I think that was pretty true until this year.
But it is hard to say that releasing Flight Simulator for Console, Psychonauts 2 (88 on Metacritic), Forza Horizon 5 (Previous iterations rated close to 9...
I don't see either Microsoft or Sony "dominating" til stock issues are resolved.
The Nintendo Switch is dominating.
LOL. They don't even mention Breath of the WIld in the actual article.
LOL. Oh its Polygon. "King of stupid gaming articles and titles"... Everything is explained. The only gaming journalism that is just as bad as Polygon is Forbes.
I really liked this quote from the article:
"So an acquisition wasn't on the plan, but when we heard about their philosophy starting with the acquisition of Mojang -- how they've had success by acquiring but not absorbing companies, not interfering with them and letting them be creatively who they are -- that's really worked out and been successful for them, and that seemed really appealing to us."
This really talks about how MS has ...
As long it is a great game I don't care how many times it is delayed.
I don't base any game buying decisions on how many delays the game had.
I don't care whether it is a reboot or new IP. I just look for great games.
Further it is completely up to the developers who are making the art. They are choosing to target an audience. Although I don't agree with their decision, it is their choice.
All this means is that certain people won't buy the game.
@Adrian_c01
Fair enough. But, Starfield seems to be in much better shape to me then Cyberpunk. They delayed CyberPunk several times before release. Starfield has not yet seen a delay.
Nice to see another totally free update that improves the game on current gen hardware.
The fact that they have already stated their ship date probably means they are in bug squashing mode already. You don't give an exact ship date if you aren't confident you are in a position to make it. Especially with a ship date over one year away.
That is assuming it improves to where it needs to be from a lag, resolution, and framerate perspective.
There is no such thing as too many games. There is just not enough time.
Given how rampant delays are lately, I would say, that this isn't about devts keeping their word and more to do with the difficulties created by COVID. Most devts had to switch to working at home and home only for about a year or more. That created a disruption to the way they were working and obviously some productivity and collaboration issues.
I don't think it really matters why a game is delayed. There are numerous reasons games get delayed. Problems in development, COVID, ambitious vision, unpolished/tested, etc.
It matters that the developer/publisher cares about it and decided to delay the game to ensure it meets the vision they intended for the game rather then releasing it in a bad or unpolished state. - That should be the reason for delays.
Just really nice to see that games other then RPGs, action-adventures, and shooters can really do well.
Just nice to see that a game that is not an RPG, action-adventure, or shooter is doing really well.
More diverse types of games doing well is good!
Well put.
I don't see xCloud as a primary way to play, there will have to be innovations in this space before it can become a primary way to play.
But with a parent trying to see if their kid will use the $300-$500 investment into a console, this would be a good place to start before buying that Christmas gift and seeing it not get used.
I would like a VR option for XB. Not because I would buy it, but because I believe in as many options as possible for gamers.
As for your SSD comment, there is no limit on which external SSD drives you can buy for XB. The limitation is on usable NVMe drives. And there are two different ones (one buy Seagate and the other by WD so there are even options there).
