Compulsion is definitely a bet that they will bring more creative experiences.
Undead is about giving them the resources to bring them to the same level as Techland and Capcom Vancouver in Zombie games. I like STate of Decay but they just did not have the budget for the full AAA version of the game (Selling it at $39.99).
They have not yet had a bad game.
Their billion dollar gaming division says otherwise.
I think that The Last of Us II won E3. Easily the best game show and anyone that doesn't see that is delusional.
As for companies though... Sony's E3 was not impressive (Outside of The Last of Us II). Poorly paced, stupid intermission, and then the other exclusives they showed were good but not great. Spider-man looked like a Batman clone, Ghosts needs a lot more polish, and Death Stranding was just really odd. The other big highlight they had was RE2's tra...
Microsoft will never lead console sales. But, it is quite likely that their moves will create bigger gaming revenues than Sony over time. Simply because they are not afraid to put XB games on many platforms.
There are a lot of games that tail off quickly.
But, with Rare announcing expansions, there is obviously a significant number of people still playing or they wouldn't be throwing more development at it.
I won't sit here and call it game of the year or anything like that, but just like The Order, Detroit, Killzone, Knack, etc. add diversity for different types of gamers on PS4, Sea of Thieves is adding to diversity on the XB. It doesn't have t...
Why is that bad?
There are many different business models to sell software now. F2P, Buy a game with all its content, buy game + DLC/season passes, microtransactions, and now EA Access and game pass. The waters are already muddied.
Forza Horizon = 87 on Metacritic - Playground's first game
Forza Horizon 2 = 86 on Metacritic - Playground's second game
Forza Horizon 3 = 91 on Metacritic - Playground's third game
No other racing game has seen 90+ on Metacritic this generation.
The reality begs to differ with your assessment.
So the logic of the author is that XB has no exclusives because of Windows 10 getting everything XB has.
If that is the measurement of all gamers then that is true XB lost.
But, not all gamers believe in having to be brand loyal to only a single manufacturer and only one of their platforms. I would argue that gamers are about games and playing a diverse lineup of great games is what matters. That's why I own all platforms this generation. And that ...
I have no clue what you are babbling about.
Tomb Raider's reboot is its own game. Yes, it has an art style similar to uncharted. What were they supposed to do? Make a jungle adventure as a cell shaded game like borderlands? Almost every Tomb Raider was set in jungle environments long before Uncharted. I don't see either game being a copy of the other. They are different in a lot of ways. And they compete well with each other. Pushing each one to be better an...
The only embarrassment is for gamers that defend sony on this topic.
There is no sensible gaming reason to block crossplay, especially if it is optional and default is off.
Name one gaming reason to block crossplay assuming it is optional and by default turned off?
I think the issue here is how Sony always say they are #fortheplayers.
It is hard they are "for the players" when they are now the only console blocking crossplay.
And frankly the only reason they are doing this is because they have control of the generation. When MS had control early last generation they did the same thing. Can't blame them, but shouldn't advertise they are for the players.
Ummmmm…
The only open world Halo driven story is Halo ODST. All other Halos are chapter driven games in a area not an open world. And even ODST does not open the whole map to the gamer. It opens in sections.
Be divided all fans want. Last of Us II was simply amazing.
The Last of Us II was literally amazing!
Ghosts needs a lot more work to be a AAA hack n Slash. And Spider-man looked to me as if it was trying to be too much like Rocksteady's Batman games.
I think they spent too long detailing the games. They could've cut the Sony demos in half and did the same thing. Also what was with the live entertainment? Then, jumping into a demo with the same background music type?
The other thing t...
I like that MS is making the investment. But anyone that thinks this is a turn around for the next year is very misguided. The rewards of these acquisitions are 3-5 yrs away.
It was obvious pretty much from the start that it is based on the Quantum Break engine.
Graphics style the same, gameplay mechanics similar, etc.
This is not a bad thing. I loved Quantum Break and will buy Control as well. But it is very much the same game in a lot of ways.
The same could be said about Netflix or Spotify.
80% of all movies, music, and games are filler in the totality of releases.
I worked with a music publisher recently and I found out that out of every 30 artists they sign to contracts, only one will actually make them any money. And they rely on that one out of every 30 to make the money they lost on the 29 and build them a profit to run.
I am not sure why you are comparing the XB to PS or Nintendo.
I just think it was good that XB featured Japanese and Japanese styled games. That is more then they have done in a long while. Whether they are exclusives, also on PS4, Nintendo, re-releases, etc. I don't really care. I have all the consoles and can scoop up any game I want.
lol. Everyone is forgetting that sony said it is impossible to run ps3 games on the new console and pc architecture.
