Maybe for PS fanboys.

To me this argument is just as bad as the MS argument at the start of the generation on indie developers wanting to publish on the XB.

This is not about a company, but it is about giving gamers choice. MS said that opening up to any indies and lowering requirements for publishing would not be good for the consumer. And to me it wasn't cause now we have consoles with a bunch of Junkware games. But, gamers wanted choice to dec...

I find this conversation somewhat a waste of time now.

Just look at Sony's continuing lead on console sales, and the answer is that not enough gamers care. If gamers truly cared about this Sony console sales would have plummeted. But, that is not what is happening.

So, although I think it is bad for gamers to support Sony's decision, it is obviously not something that I am in the majority on. And I have my own PS4, so I can't even say I c...

PCs are getting more and more cores but generally not getting raw performance increases.

Chips are more about optimizing the big things that CPUs have to do today vs. major technology breakthroughs that change the raw performance of the CPU.

I am sure that building for the 5% the 95% could use it.

But, it is not economically smart to target the 5% and therefore allow used games through retailers that don't give them a share of the profits. By going all digital, they takeover the used game market. That is far more financially lucrative then catering to the 5% to those companies probably.

I am by no means, saying that these companies are doing good by switching to digit...

A good 95% of gamers have access to 10 Mbps or greater.

So do you think that the console and software companies are designing the next console generation for 95% of gamers or the 5%? They can reduce prices of consoles by at least $50 if they get rid of the optical drives. They can also reduce their physical size as well then. Both make it more attractive to the 95% of gamers who have access to decent internet. And if they reduce the price the 5% lost in rural gets made ...

I'm not sure anyone can really judge this game yet based on the gameplay seen so far.

Kojima makes great games. The bigger question I have is when will this actually ship. Currently gameplay has been really limited and more focused on the story. And Kojima is very well known for taking 5+ years to make his games.

The current OG XB simply did not have the ability to do HDR. It was barely getting games to 800p.

Is that sad. Absolutely. MS dropped the ball there for sure (As compared to PS).

Switch is a much newer console and doesn't support either 4K or HDR. So, it is more that the original PS4 was able to do HDR which was a good hardware design choice.

But you could argue that the XOX is a much better 4K device than the PS4 Pro. There ar...

@SolidGamerX
So, what is making this game so worthy of extra hype?

LOL. XB did not exist in the 80's.

I had a Colecovision in 1984.

True, but XB made these things more mainstream.

1. BC has been done many times before. But because they are doing this through software now, it will be easier to bring it forward to future consoles. In the past BC was done mostly through hardware design.
2. Game Pass has been a thing from EA Access and Streaming from Sony for a while. But, again MS is making it mainstream and wanted by many.
3. Hardcore appeal for hardware. Consoles tended not to desi...

Innovation is provided by competition in the making of games market not the hardware market. The consoles are just generic PC components mostly now. So, there is no real innovation and competition there. And when there needs to be competition it is during generation changes when the consoles go and get Intel and AMD to compete for the next processors that will power the next 250 million consoles.

Having the chance to get their games selling 10 million vs 3 million for a ...

This is not the first article that has said this.

I am not saying it is or is not, because personally I have only seen what Sony has published on the game.

But, in watching the demos, I haven't seen anything exceptionally new yet saying to me that, "this Spider-Man game brings something to the table I haven't seen in a Spider-Man or batman game yet".

As a gamer I want every game on every platform and I want cross play.

Instead of spending $600-1,200 buying three consoles, taking up valuable HDMI ports on my main gaming TV, and having to maintain at least two paid network accounts, I only need one console, use one HDMI port for gaming, and can go to one network account saving me literally hundreds to thousands of dollars.

I just don't understand why gamers don't get that the console vendors and...

Gameplay in God of War III was excellent as it is with all God of Wars. But the story and the game atmosphere felt void (to me). The new God of War just has so much more story and atmosphere to it.

I love the new God of War. To me GoW III and Ascension weren't as good in my books! But, this current game is amazing!

The Halo independent movies were actually good. I can't wait to get more.

As for 343, they have done a solid job with Halo thus far. They went from nothing at the end of Halo Reach to a full AAA studio. They should be applauded for their efforts.

It is kind of funny. Sony does press conferences at E3 all the time with trailers to games that are years away... And when people point that out they are just "showing us the future". Last Guardian, God of War, Uncharted, Horizon, Spider-man, were all shown at least two years before they did and will ship. Last Guardian was 7 years plus.

And Sony is just as heavily reliant on current IPs as new ones. There have been many Spider-Man games (Sony is doing it the...

Control is looking like a new game built on the same tech from Alan Wake and Quantum Break. Great tech and a new IP because the previous two did not sell enough to warrant sequels. That is unfortunate because both games are great. Remedy definitely needed to switch to the muti-platform crowd to get their sales up.

Well after having the last five to seven years having gamers and media saying they weren't listening sometimes you have to tell them you are.

I know that their changes have not yet translated to a bunch of 90+ rated games, but you can see they are turning the ship in the right direction.

Duely noted but if they don't allow crossplay with every game and platform the developers want crossplay with then to me they are just playing stupid games with gamers.

Like I said, if crossplay is important PS is not your platform. They don't want to see crossplay unless it benefits them.
