Although people like to take shots at MS for their approaches, they aren't usually wrong... They may be early but not wrong. And they have pushed consoles forward.

Crackdown was a cult-hit on X360. True people got it because of the Halo beta, but people also loved the fun in the game.

Ummmmm Sony's financial success is 90% console and games right now. If they lose market share in any significant way they aren't going to be in good shape. They can try and fall back to movies and electronics, but they have not been very profitable in either for at least the past 5 years.
I am sure that if it does decently it will find its way to console too.

Gamers constantly complain about the lack of new IPs and content, then we go and give remasters great ratings and buy them as if they were released yesterday for the first time. Gamers have to stop supporting these behaviours otherwise new IPs will get rarer and rarer.
I have always wanted to get rid of the boundaries between devices. I travel a lot and lugging around consoles is really annoying. This new world order where I can use my PC, switch, or XB to play the same game and track my progress is really good. Add phones and I will be happy.
Now, I just want a single network (XB Live or Steam) to become a defacto standard and have Nintendo and Microsoft ship all of their exclusives on each other's platforms.

Hopefully the reviews stay strong. At first, I thought it looked kind of corny, but as the trailer went forward I thought maybe this might be decent. Getting a 10 to start things off is good.

I thought the same at first. But, at the same time there was a little part of me that thought cult classic. You look at a game like Deadly Premonition. If showed at E3 you would've got the same feeling. But, it became a huge cult classic on 360 and later sold on other platforms. Was rated lousy, but core gamers loved it for many awkward and strange reasons.
You cannot fault them for trying. To me any new games are worth a first risk.

I would rather experience the game then watch a game. That is why I game to begin with. I can watch movies if I just want to watch stuff. A Game adds an extra level of immersion to a story.
I am not trying to defend MS, because they definitely screwed up until Phil took over. But, it also takes time to turn the ship. This past year we started to see the changes. Halo Wars 2 last year, Sea of Thieves, Cuphead, PUBG, etc. Not necessarily 5 star games, but games that are giving xbox one a more gamer slant and are adding unique gaming diversity to this console.

Sony is not interested in crossplay. Everyone knows it, so if you want crossplay then don't buy a PS. If you want crossplay buy something that does.
