Yes, it is about all the games.

Third party included. I liked what I saw this year at E3 across the board. Was the first year I truly felt we are in the new generation. Until now I felt like and have often called this generation the recycle generation. There is still a lot of recycling but this year the lineup looks like they are actually pushing the hardware finally.

I couldn't care less who's conference was the best cuz at the end this year all gamers won with lots of content shown and it looks like MS is finding their way back to being competitive with Sony. Competition should make everyone happy because the competition will force all the companies to push ahead faster and farther whether you are a Sony, XB, Switch, PC, or whatever gamer.... To me I like them all! (But I would prefer if game platform vendors would get together and come up wit...

Variety is about game genres and game types not new IPs.

That said, I was happy with Sony's variety as well, although I would give the edge slightly to XB. Simply because there seemed to be a lot of genres. And good games in all the genres.

Yes, this was a step in the right direction not a resolution to all their issues.

And sending a paper in late is much better then not ever sending it in.

I get it. In my house I have: 13 x consoles, 4 x laptops, 6 x tablets, 4 x smart phones, and 6 x Internet connected TVs.

My provider only has a 250 GB limit. So Gears at 100 GB is almost half of it. But, that is a infrastructure issue that needs to be resolved, not something I really care for developers to focus on.

But, I have hope that all these things will change because thru time to date they have. I still remember having a 600 baud...

@ClanPsi1

Gears of War is looking like a great game. I love the mechanics of Gears games and many other gamers love the series as well.

Crackdown 3 as with all the other Crackdowns I hope is just a bunch of fun. The first was a cult classic and loved it. It is not the 5 million selling series, but it adds diversity to the first party lineup.

Forza Horizon 4. OK. I came into the presentation thinking another Horizon and thinking abou...

I am not sure all gamers feel the same way you do.

Undead labs State of Decay 1 and 2 are good games. Most open world zombie games do not rate high to begin with and Undead was an indie with limited resources playing in an arena with Capcom Vancouver and Techland funded through Warner Brothers. They needed a first party or big third party to pick them up so they can make a AAA game. Anyone thinking Undead was going to make something that is priced les...

How many games has MS showed from Japan at the past 10 E3's

I think there was more Japanese showings at their E3 conference this year then the past 10. Or at least that was my feeling.

And I am not sure Tales of Vesperia definitive edition would've come to XB a few years back. And Nier Automata was a Sony exclusive so there were also unexpected showings.

Halo, first new Halo shooter game in four or five years probably. - October 2015 for Halo 5, this one will probably ship October 2020 because next year will be Gears - No real Halo gameplay shown.

Gears of War - First gears game in three years when it probably ships Fall 2019.

Crackdown 3 will ship in Spring 2019

Forza Horizon, Playground just keeps me excited to play their arcade racers!

Yup, and they weren't a bunch of junk studios...

Playground games have nailed the Forza Horizon arcade racers
Ninja Theory, behind Hellblade, DMC reboot, PS3 exclusive Heavenly Sword, and Enslaved
The Initiative - A brand new studio
Compulsion got lots of kudos for We Happy Few
Undead Labs - State of Decay!

If game size is your biggest complaint then why bother?

I like where they seem to be going.

The first party games are looking good. Halo Infinite, Gears 5, Gears Pop, Gears Tactics, Battletoads, etc. When I was looking at the next Forza Horizon entry I was thinking just make it a great setting. Then, I got blown away that not only is the setting new and great, but they will add dynamic seasons onto dynamic weather and days. Looks like Playground really nailed the next arcade racer yet again!

Yup E3 is marketing and that is all really. Nothing tangible tends to come out of E3. All it is, is a travel show to keep people on respective bandwagons.

I do not mind having a digital only model.

Things are changing though. 5G may make people move away from home networks just like cellular phones have made a lot of people move away from physical phones lines.

The only thing that needs resolution is having a 5G mesh over the entire planet making wireless available to everyone fast, reliable, and low cost.

First, you probably didn't read the article and just threw this comment out as a fanboy.

Second, MS has not taken over the living room, but they are still in gaming and their gaming future is improving so they are at the very least still standing. If it wasn't for their commercial missteps to start the generation they would be standing even better.

Third, gaming is changing massively over time. In 2005 consoles were questioned about their online...

I think it is status dependent. Last generation Sony fans wanted crossplay and Microsoft would not provide it. This generation the opposite.

The reality is that crossplay is good for gamers. And good for game developers.

Not so good for the dominant console vendor because then gamers have more choice.

While that is a possibility, delays do not automatically mean the game development is off the rails. Last year the game was shown and the general feeling I got from articles I read was that it needed a lot more work to bring to fruition properly. Sounds like MS listened and are improving it.

I would rather them delay and release a better game then release something that would evolve after release. I am tired of developers and publishers releasing polished beta games and t...

Really to assess whether MS delivered its promises or not they should've removed all third party and independent stuff from the discussion.
