I am a gamer first and foremost... I have had a console in every single generation and in the last four generations I have owned every console.
I don't give a crap who is winning or losing... I just play fun games whether it is God of War, Uncharted, Halo, Gears, Forzas, Marios, Zeldas, or whatevers. My biggest motivation is that right now I have to buy three consoles to be able to play every console game. I only want to buy one. It would save on HDMI connections to...
The gaming world would be a much better place if Microsoft's network and OS were on every platform, Microsoft/Sony/Nintendo collaborated to make a gaming console, and All games from Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo could be played on that gaming console.
Gone are the days of exclusives to win. All three companies are doing well in gaming. Now, it is time they all collaborated to unify the console community.

These are the game awards Ori has won. Hard to argue it had AAA Sound and Art Direction.
And on Metacritic it is at 88 after 73 reviewers... If Ori is not AAA then what does a game have to be to meet AAA criteria?
There is nothing stopping anyone else from implementing multi-platform to dominate. Sony could do the same thing but has chosen not to. Same with Nintendo.
Windows is no more dominate than Apple is in tablets, and Google is in Android phones.
Gears of War 5 and Ori and the Willow Wisps have been announced for Game Pass. Both franchises have traditionally been AAA.
And there is nothing wrong with multi-platform.
There is no logical argument for a gamer to only want to play on one device and have a gaming company tell you what device that has to b because it only has certain exclusives.
I do not know why people think that consoles are disappearing.
Consoles are one piece of hardware that gamers like. As a gamer I also like my PC, my laptop, my tablet, and my phone to game on. This is not about whether I have a console or not. This is about giving me the choice to play my games on the best devices for that game and about choosing the best device to game on in my many different environmental circumstances.
When I am at home and want t...
I am not sure what planet you have been on for the last decade but it does not seem to be planet earth.
Microsoft has been pushing towards multi-platform XBox Live for many, many years now. There was Games for Windows Live launched in May 2007, Age of Empires Castle Seige in September 2014, Wordament back from 2012, Microsoft Solitaire, etc over the past many years. They took those efforts and put efforts towards Xbox Play Anywhere and now they are spreading more broadly ...
Crackdown 1 was like this. This is classic Crackdown. You don't play Crackdown for a deep story. You play Crackdown because it is a bunch of fun.
So, this is the new criteria for rating whether you buy a game or not. Confusion level of release schedule.
I don't know whether Anthem will be good or not. But, I will not decide whether to buy the game or not based on its release schedule.
That is BS.
There is an estimated 2.1 billion gamers world wide. Consoles sell about 300 million per generation. That means they are about 15% of gamers.
There are more people playing games on mobile devices than consoles by literally hundreds of millions.
75% of all the indie game innovations you play on console started on PC first.
Crackdown is a core XB cult classic game. May not have a huge market but it is a loyal market.
Yup, so did MS paid reviewers to give Sea of Thieves a 69 and State of Decay 2 a 66 on Metacritic?
I'm not sure what conspiracy theory you are on, but if MS was paying for good reviews you would think they would be getting good reviews on all of their games. Both Sea of Thieves and State of Decay 2 have gotten great support after release. You would think if MS was paying for good reviews these two games would've been big targets since they are investing heavily in...
It will be a great day for gamers when Gamestop is gone.
I picked up the first Crackdown 1 simply because it had the Halo 3 beta access. Turned out it kept me busy until Halo 3 was release and I didn't even go on the Halo 3 Beta...
Crackdown 2 was a disappointment. Had some good changes in theory but poorly executed.
Hopefully, Crackdown 3 restores Crackdown to its first game glory!
This year I completely ignored CoD. To me, Activision and EA are in the same crowd. 3rd Party developers that are searching for more and more ways to monetize their games rather than searching for more ways to make better quality and more enjoyable games that sell themselves.
Yup, just because a game is Twitched a lot it makes it good or bad. /s
Your post makes zero sense. There is not a single mention of whether the game is good or not in the article. It simply is a factual article that the game is the most watched on Twitch and to celebrate they discounted the price by 50%. They do talk that Rare gave the game good support after launch, but not one statement is an opinion of the game's quality in the article.

I just wish people would stop with the idea there are winners and losers among the big three. Nintendo has been at it a very long time, same with Sony and MS the youngest in console gaming has a lot of old roots as well with the PC. So, anyone thinking that any of the three are calling it quits anytime soon are completely dumb.
All three are profiting on gaming and all three will stay there for the foreseeable future.
Developers are an important part to game development and it is good that MS is hiring quality developers.
But, one of the things I notice about my PS exclusives over my XB exclusives is that the story and character development are so much better. A great technical game is only one part of making very highly rated exclusives.
Most Gears stories are good (not great), the first Halos were great stories, Hellblade is a great story.... But, God of War and Un...
