They did a great job with PS4. PS3 was a mess at launch and for the first few years, but ended really strong. PS4 started strong and never looked back.
A. Yes, the game may not live up to the tech hype but at XO18 they did show massive destruction so that will be there.
B. Microsoft has stated on many occasions that Game Pass is actually a new revenue model for SP games. And this game is set to hit Game Pass on day one. In the past, Crackdown has been a SP or Co-op game. Their focus on multi-player showing is probably to highlight that the game has new features in the multi-player space.
C. They have...
Felt like Borderlands and Fallout 76 crossed with each other.
Yeah... I get to the opportunity to pay for a bunch of games I already have bought at least twice.
I'll pass. Sony has to add BC next generation. They are turning me off with repackaging and remastering previous PS games. I really like full current gen remakes of games, but porting and remastering is lame no matter who does it. Capcom were the worst this generation. Lame ports of all the RE and Deadrising games with nothing knew to offer except they run on my new ...
@IamTylerDurden1
You are stuck in console wars. They are talking about MS having a better year game wise. They aren't talking about sales of XBoxes and exclusives. Read the article no mention of exclusives by the journalist or MS.
They are talking about Microsoft published games. I don't care what and how many devices they ship on. Technically, Microsoft probably has no exclusives. Meaning that they ship most of their games on PC as well.
People seem to think that games are announced and magically ship in a few months. Obsidian must have been working on this game for at least the past two years. They are not like some other game studios where their game is announced and we follow development for the next three to five years until completion. They are announcing it to ship and they have been working on it for a long time.
Microsoft knew they had a publishing contract on purchase and decided the best way to...
I definitely agree with 2017.
2018 definitely was an improvement even if the games did not rate that well (Sea of Thieves and State of Decay 2). But, Forza Horizon 4 looks to be the ultimate arcade racer for this generation.
I am positive Crackdown 3 will rate better than Sea of Thieves at launch, Ori 2 will be no doubt be a highly rated game, and Gears 5 is definitely going to be a solid game. Add to that the cross platform game Outer World, and MS def...
I am not sure how you have come to this conclusion.
I don't know of any of the Preview program games on EA Access or Game Pass.
Games on game pass are all full shipping games. And no game has shipped on EA Access or Game Pass in any worse shape than many full games.
It is sad when studios/publishers decide to ship games that are incomplete. But, Game Pass and EA Access are not the cause nor the issue with that.
I don't think gamers should give a rat's ass whether MS is willing to publish the game on PlayStation's platform. They already have Minecraft there. And the development of this game probably started a couple years back so they probably have 90% of the code ready for PS. You don't walk cancel something that is 90% done.
If it is a good game, gamer's should buy it.
Horizon is on PC as well.
Many gamers say that XB games are not exclusive if they run on PC. Can't have it both ways.
LOL. There are two prevalent complaints about MS... Quality of first party games and number of studios. They solved the quantity issue, and arguably the quality issue as well by adding a bunch of studios that have popular games.
The third is garbage. Took the engine from the last game, ported it to this generation, then put the third story content on to it. Zero effort to improve the game. Shame really.
@Sly_Wolf @RosweeSon
Absolutely games are important but what differentiates consoles if each one has a bunch of great games? It is the console capabilities and services it provides. MS has to pick up on the games side but the console and services side are solid.
I buy a game console for its games, services, and console capabilities. If games was the only thing that mattered then everyone would buy the Nintendo consoles because they always have AAA top notch game...
@Sirk7x
But that is why companies need to get this right for release. They taint their franchises then it takes two or three iterations to recover. Core fans will usually hang on for the changes, but the majority of gamers won't wait for it to improve.
I was so looking forward to this game. Loved the first two...
About two minutes in I realized the game engine was the last gen game engine and thought "what a disappointment". If this shipped in 2014 I would've thought it was decent. But in 2018 I expect more.
Agreed...
One example... In getting some achievements in Red Dead Redemption 1, 10 of us went on together, piled onto a horse/carriage wagon (all of us) and proceeded to drive it over a cliff having us all scattered everywhere. One of the most fun game moments I have ever been in... First, because all of us were on the carriage, second because we were on it together for a good two or three minutes, then the scatter moment where we all went flying!
Although I agree with people's anger on Fallout 76, they have done a lot of good things this generation...
Elder Scrolls Online, Doom reboot, Wolfenstein reboot, Fallout 4, Prey remaster, etc.
Sad but true!
This has been a story this generation... Star Wars Battlefront, Sea of Thieves, Drive Club, Halo MCC, among others... All should've been delayed to either get more complete content or fix broken online issues prior to release.
It is sad that gamers accept these issues and forgive the companies so easily for not living up to their obligations to ship a quality product.
XB is my primary platform and I have been happy ever since Phil took over (I was close to scrapping XB) and has spent the rest of the generation making XB a better gaming platform, then re-focusing first party studios, and now building the first party studio stable.
They have been smart about the studio purchases. They weren't high cost purchases like Mojang was, but they are a bunch of up and coming studios known for creativity and quality. Now, is their time to step...
So what has he said that is so ludicrous?
