I take exception to these kind of harsh reviews. Days Gone is no 10/10...

But it isn't even close to 4.5 out of 10.

Game stores will continue to be around, but they are both disappearing and changing drastically. The focus will no longer be on physical game sales and will be more on other things related to gaming and other "Comicon" type merchandise. We are already seeing this happen.

I liked Max Payne, I liked Alan Wake...

Quantum Break was not as good as Alan Wake.

These game mechanics seem to only be an incremental change from Quantum Break. That is disappointing. Alan Wake's focus on the use of light made it a very interesting game.

How about lets see what they have to offer first?

I am neither Yes nor No until I know what I am buying and how much they want to monetize after release.

They own the Windows platform. And the Windows platform is the dominate platform for PCs. But there is nothing stopping anyone from installing other platforms. That is not true of any other major device platform. Android devices require an Android variant to be on them, Apple devices require iOS on them. Sony Consoles require the Sony Firmware, same with Nintendo and XB consoles.

The PC world is the only device platform in the world where more than one base platform ...

Fair comment on Switch.

XB is not a digital console neither. You can choose to buy one with media device or not. And physical games are plenty available for XB.

As consoles progress I think there will be price points. Yes, today the price points seem skewed for the discless XB. But, I think as time progresses it will come in line.

As for the laziness. This is about production costs. Sometimes it is cheaper to use the same case t...

With cell shading I don't know why both can't hit 4K / 60 fps.

Sony completely cried foul when XB would not cross play with them last gen.

The difference between last gen and this gen is that Sony has invested a lot to improve the security and reliability of their network so cross play is viable. Last gen Sony cried for cross play and then it wasn't long after they had the major hack down which essentially killed any credibility they had in asking for cross play.

This gen Sony is in the driver's seat and a...

There is no mistake in giving consumers choices.

Next generation of consoles, I am not sure I will buy an XB console with an optical drive. I buy everything digital and stopped buying Blu-ray media about two years ago. And since PS won't give me an option I will use it for Blu-ray when required.

I don't know why people are making a big deal of this. Switch doesn't have optical drive.

With cell shaded graphics if it does not hit 60 FPS on XBOne and PS4 Pro there is something seriously wrong.

It is not undeserving of backlash.

The way I look at it...

Sony's position last generation was to promote crossplay last generation and I really liked the idea.

Then, they found themselves in the driver's seat this generation and have conveniently changed their mind.

There is no possible argument that crossplay is not pro consumer. Especially, when every cross play seems to allow you to change a setting to on...

There will always be a place for consoles. Anyone that is all console, PC, phone, tablet, cloud, etc. is not going to win. The company that wins will be the company that uses all of them properly and for what they are strong at. I love PCs but I almost never game on them (other then RTS games). I love the convenience of a console for gaming.

I do agree with your statement. But, at the same time RPGs have become more and more about endless grinding and how difficult they are to play.

Take me back to when RPGs were not only about managing your inventory and how many times you die before you succeed and back to strong stories that engaged me as I played the RPG.

I saw the trailer to Borderlands 3 and was loving it until they stated that it had over a billion weapons. WTF? That will probably ...

Ummmmm…. Let's break this down to facts based on what these companies are doing today.

“- The PS5 will support physical and digital games
- It will support PS Now streaming too
- Developers and consumers should have more options on offer”

Although XB has not announced all their future business models going forward it seems logical that Microsoft as they do today will support both physical and digital games. Yes, they are shipping...

Console sales are a forgone conclusion. Sony will continue to be the best selling console.

Microsoft is pursing the broad gaming market across PC, Console, Phone, and Tablet. And its Netflix of Gaming.

Nintendo and Microsoft seem to be working together. Nintendo using MS online services, and MS starting to place its games on Nintendo consoles. Hopefully Nintendo starts to reciprocate and we see Nintendo games on XB.

Sony will cont...

@Srhalo
It has been proven over and over again that the market will adjust by itself.

It is more about where the money goes. I would rather all the money go to the platform providers, publishers, and development studios then to retailers.

If the games become too expensive then less people buy them, If they are too cheap nobody in the chain makes money, etc. At the end of the day, people funding game companies have choices on where to invest the...

@gamingunited
I disagree. Physical media creates retail jobs but has been costing gamers single player games for many years now. 90% of studios that close are single player studios and the resale of these games through the second hand market has been a big reason why these games are not as commercially successful as they could be.

As I gamer I want more games and broader experiences of games. Digital ensures that gamer money is going back into the industry di...

When you buy digital games they all constantly check to make sure you are licensed. Online is a fact of modern gaming. My console is hooked up to my network along with sonos speakers, computers, Alexa, and many other things. They all check home often.
