I love their IPs, but to be honest their games haven't been AAA. They have been more B to AA. They need to get more expertise in maximizing hardware in their games. The gameplay has been relatively fine. But, they need to pick up the graphical quality and quality of the games in general.
I am talking about generic personalities and behaviours. You are talking about criminal actions. I will not knowing support criminal actions.
As for sweat shops and predatory monetization schemes. There are literally millions of products both in and outside the games industry that are built on free overtime and predatory monetization. If you stop buying them all you probably will save a ton of money but not own anything. I am not trying to justify it. I think it is wr...
I will read reviews, I will watch gameplay and then I will decide to buy or not to buy.
If MS was working on a streaming console I would not care.
As long as I can still buy a console with a hard drive, optical drive, and allows downloading of games I will buy it. If it doesn't have those things or abilities it is not on my buy list.
Yup. But, some folks like folks that maybe should not be liked and some folks don't like folks that maybe should be liked.
There are very few CEOs that don't have a lot of skeletons in their closet and that if you knew more about them, they would probably not be liked at all. Liking or not liking people is a perception and perception can often be misguided and wrong. I have met some people that say the worst things but when you sit down and meet them at home they...
I couldn't care less what the guy says or does. I rate and buy games solely on their merit.
I ignore publisher X is bad, industry person Y is an idiot, and Z console sux.
I buy all the consoles so I can play whatever game I want, and I buy the best games regardless of who makes them. Because to me the most important aspects are the games, the networks, and the operating system/firmwares in that order.
@kneon
LOL. I have a lavish' PC but it really annoys me that I have to buy a lavish PC, a Switch, a XBO, and a PS4 to play all the games I want to play. Wish I could buy one device and play all the games I like.
Pretty amazing that Minecraft continually keeps selling well year after year on pretty much every platform.
Doesn't matter who owns it, it is truly a phenomenon type game long before MS bought it. It has been good that MS has continued to all Mojang to move Minecraft forward within its original vision.
I don't agree there should be just one console. What I am saying is that consoles should compete based on the hard, operating system/firmware, and their network services of each vendor. And not on what games you can and cannot play.
I agree with competition.
But, competition of a console should be based on the merits of the device, its operating system/firmware, and network. Not, because of which games you can play on it.
The tech aspect is a pretty poor argument now-a-days. The consoles are essentially PCs and they pretty much use the same hardware. At least PS and XB do. They all use standard development and design tools for their games so nothing is fully optimized anyhow.

Should there be? Absolutely not. Keeping console gamers from playing games on another console serves absolutely no purpose to help the wholistic gaming community.
Will there be? Yes, console vendors will continue to monet hat publishers to bring games only to their console.
If there were no exclusives I could spend about $800 more per generation on games. Because I would only need to buy one console to play every game. Today people buy multiple conso...
It must be boring when all the gaming news has to write about is water effects in a game. Please show me gameplay!
I don't like having to endlessly grind in campaigns for really no value. Also, hate games where you are forced to grind or pay to progress faster.
I measure games on how relevant they are to me years later. TLOU is one of those games that even if released today would rate very well.
No, it is another way to play.
Console is a way to play, PC is a way to play, phone is a way to play, tablet is a way to play....
Cloud is just another way to play. I won't stream in the cloud or play downloads on my console. I will stream in the cloud when I am travelling and have a good network, and I will download games to play directly on my console.
Yup, they sold one copy and then with gamepass saw four copies sold.
Definitely, why he has come out into the media to brag about the success.
Guess your just salty because you are not on gamepass... Probably don't even own an XBO. But, hey... Why state the obvious?
Yup I heard the same thing when the first games went into the "hundreds of megabytes", "gigabytes", and "10's of gigabytes".
Reality is that games will continue to grow as the worlds and graphics resolutions grow. Drive space will continue to grow and everyone will forget about this in a few years.
And how else can you try and beat a much larger competitor in an market where they pretty much have a monopoly.
I'm not saying I condone this because I think celebrity endorsements and exclusivity is just stupid. But, it does work to get people onboard. Especially when you are competing against an entrenched competitor.
Strategically, with the cloud agreement between MS and Sony I could see them both going Mixer in the future as feeding Twitch will ...
Yup...
A game releases on time, but has bugs and it is dead in the water...
They delay the release and the hype train has left the station and it is dead in the water...
Maybe, just maybe they are trying to make sure they build a quality product and it takes as long as it takes to do so.
I am all for 8K. I remember people saying 4K was too much.... I also remember when people compared standard video to HD... 8K's time will arrive.
But, people have to understand that the benefits aren't with TVs 55" and below. The 8K benefit is 60" TVs and higher.
