I like the idea of a service-style campaign, but it has to be done right. Has to be a true and deep story. Not just a mission based adventure, but chapters that lead to something along the line.
You think about it, and most story games start with an engine, and then they do 2-5 games on that engine with only minor enhancements. If they didn't both with Halo 6-8 and just provided me with campaign stuff totaling about 45 hours over a five year period on the engine I ...
They really just speculated based on the way Sony presented the games.
Every console vendor does that so it is not just Sony.
Don't make it sound like Sony is evil here.
The XSX presentation had the same thing.
@AmUnRa
wtf?
In Sony's presentation....
Holiday 2020 = this year
2021 = 2021
Any game without a ship year > 2021
In their presentation very few of those games had ship dates because they are more then a year out.
My guess with R&C is that Insomniac was asked to put together a prototype of a key feature in the game... Warping... The game play did not go much beyond warping. It w...
@rainslacker
Yes, I did say in my OG post I expect MS to do the same.
My post was about something that really bugs me about gaming marketing I am not trying to convince anyone to buy console A or B. Go buy the console that best suites what you like.
They really only do this marketing in gaming. You look at other industries like cars, movies, etc. for example, and they have "roadmaps". Essentially, they map out where their future pr...
@annonymousfan
I stand corrected, went to Rockstar's site and saw that the GTA V team was on RDR2 as well.
One game for this last generation.
@mkis007
There is no way that every one of those games are shipping during the launch window thru 2021.
In fact in Sony's presentation.... They tagged games for Holiday 2020, they also tagged games as 2021... Then, they did not put ship dates on the rest.
Any game that did not have a date should be assumed after 2021.
Nevertheless. Go buy the console it is a good console. But, if you think all those games are shipping...
I can see the headline now....
"Sony's Wifi Router Outsells Microsoft's Refrigerator"
Ummmmmmm...
I don't remember seeing "Holiday 2020" behind the Ratchet & Clank trailler. In fact, there was no date given so it could be as far out as 2-3 years.
Yes, Sony didn't stray from their successful strategy and why would they?
It completely makes sense that when you are doing something people like, you should keep doing it!
Actually it is more then a generation. GTA V was released on X360 and PS3 a year before the current generation started.
So, really GTA V on PS4 and XBO was a port a year later.
Wait a minute....
Only the PS5 has a fast SSD. The XSX is slow-beans.
How can this be?
But they didn't show any games.
Why is everyone letting them off the hook?
LOL
They should've remade Sneaker King from 360 as Sneaker Chicken.
If you look at the article date, you will notice it is in fact from two days ago.
Not really sure how posting the press announcement the same day as Capcom announced it is double-speak or confusing.
I want to see more of both.
Jury is out on RE Village. Looksmore like Van Helsing then RE to me.
Pragmata, just need to see a lot more.
I think 80% of people will just stay with the console vendors they have today.
Multi-platform gamers such as myself have to make some decisions longer term. I will keep gaming on all the platforms (Mobile, XB, PS, Nintendo, and PC). But, I could just buy one of either PS and XB and stream the other with PSNow or xCloud. Stuff to just think about.
So far though, neither Sony or MS has given me a convincing reason why I need to buy either console day one...
I expect Demon Souls to be amazing.
They are taking a PS3 game engine and running on 2 generations later hardware. I expect the massive video and audio improvements. The PS5 should run the game engine in its sleep, and the game should be at least 60 fps in 4K. I don't know why they are even talking 30 fps.
Ya, that R&C demo was definitely the highlight of the show from both a game and technical perspective.
I do fundamentally disagree.
One thing Sony does that really is annoying is show games that aren't even close to release. We only say a few games with release dates in the show.
Sadly, I expect MS to do the same in the July event. And yes the first XSX event did the same.
To me, this has to stop in gaming. Don't show me a game until it is within 12 months of release. We saw a bunch of games in the Sony show, and in reality o...
There are a lot of people who buy XB solely for Halo.
I, personally am interested to see what they are going to try and do to innovate the genre. This genre seems to have max'd out, but there is room for improvements still.
